  1. LOL! Does the word "sleeve" sound weird to you yet? I overheard someone talking about their sleeve recently, and it was regarding tattoos....but that definitely wasn't the first sleeve that came to MY mind!
  2. WOW.....strawberries with double devon cream = AMAZING

    Too Thin...ha?!

I'm 5'5" and had the surgery at 208. I got to a BMI of 25 (150 lbs) after about 4 months, then dropped some more weight.

    What's A Realistic Goal?

My goal was to get below a BMI of 25, which for me was 150 lbs. I had gotten down to 168 pre-surgery at some point and felt that I still had a good 20 lbs to go from there, so it worked well. I also had the non-numerical goal of getting thin enough so my thighs didn't rub together, lol! I met and surpassed both goals. Incidentally, the thigh rub vanished right around 145-150, so pretty much as soon as I got down to the normal BMI range.

How Many Times A Day Do You Eat

I eat like 5-6 times a day. Considering how small our stomachs are, there's really no difference between a "meal" and a "snack."

    Relationship Troubles

Wow, so he's already found a new place and plans to move all his stuff out of my house this Wednesday....that was quick! Also, turns out our deposit for the Antarctica trip was $1500 total and not per person, so it's not that much of a loss there. I've also e-mailed to see if I can use that deposit towards another trip with this tour company - they have lots of other tours that'd be more affordable were I to go with someone else or even alone. Still trying to figure out the plane ticket issue. I'm a little bummed because he wants to switch cars....the car he drives all the time is technically mine and vice versa, and I really like the car that's registered in his name and it's a much better fit for me (it's a 4WD and I like outdoorsy stuff, whereas my car is a Yaris). I e-mailed him about it and his response was "Even though I would much rather keep driving the Yaris, I don't want to deal with having to go to the registry to transfer titles and interact with you in person." Ok, whatever, grow up.... he keeps sending me these super-long e-mails and texts peppered with comments like "Please only focus on business issues when responding, I don't want any personal conversation," even though it's always him who contacts me and I stick to "business issues" only, anyway.... Anyway, I also connected with a cute guy online, we've been texting lots and he seems pretty sweet and funny....but he works the next few nights while I work days, and then he's leaving town for a few days, so we're trying to coordinate meeting up in person. I'm pretty excited!
  8. Honestly, I think 99% of people lose lots of weight. Yeah, if you are 350 lbs, you have to make peace with the idea that you probably won't make it to 110 lbs, but you will certainly lose way more with the sleeve than you ever would on your own, and with WAY less effort. Even for people who complain that they never reached their goal weight, you will usually notice that they've still lost staggering amounts of weight. The ~1% who fail are comprised of people whose doctors did a crappy job (leaving too much stretchy tissue from the stomach), who have major emotional issues that lead them to give up on themselves and load up on slider foods and liquid calories, and people who are cursed with a very slow metabolism.

    Couch To 5-K

I skipped right ahead to week 4, but I think week 1 starts with very short intervals, like maybe a 1-1.5 minutes of running followed by walking. It's not called Couch-to-5K for nothing! If you find it too easy, you could always skip ahead a few weeks.

    Couch To 5-K

Anyone still doing the C25K? It seems it's just me posting here these days! I haven't done an official C25K workout in the last week, but today my gym had a field trip to do some trail running. We certainly covered at least 5 km, although there were a lot of hills, so we occasionally stopped to catch our breath and regroup, so it wasn't really a typical distance run. I've officially registered for my 5K for next Sunday!

Are There Any Single Sleevers Out There..

Newly single, sleeved for 21 months. I was with my ex for over 2 years, so this will be my first time dating at a healthy weight and my first time dating as a sleever. I always had a pretty face, but after losing the weight, I get checked out constantly. I think it will be interesting to see how things play out now that I'm more conventionally attractive. For those of you who've been sleeved for a while and don't necessarily eat so little that it's immediately obvious....how long do you wait to disclose that you've had WLS? I know a LOT of people are very ignorant about WLS, so I wouldn't be breaking it out on the first date, but how long is long enough?

Anyone Wanna Do A 7-Day Paleo Challenge With Me?

Hey team, still sticking to the plan about 90%. Had some semi-sweet fudge from Rocky Mtn chocolate Factory today; Wednesday, I had a few bites of a dark chocolate pistachio tart, and Monday, I had a few squares of dark chocolate. Still finding it easy to be grain/legume/processed food-free, and there's been no other sugar in my diet except the aforementioned treats. Went and bought some cool stuff, like duck eggs and quail eggs, frozen oyster meat, escargot, etc - keeps things exciting.

    Relationship Troubles

Thanks. Thanks to everyone who responded and shared their personal experiences, it helped a lot. My mom had long been concerned about the fact that I wasn't attracted to him, but I just assumed that it's normal in long-term relationship. But seeing some of the people here say they are still crazy about their husband 10+ years down the road made me understand that I shouldn't settle for this. I think if I were, say, 60 years old, I might have just kept things status quo, but at 27, I think I still have a good chance of meeting someone who will be my soulmate AND someone I want to get in bed with.

    Relationship Troubles

So, I've spent a lot of time crying and agonizing over this the last 2 days, and then tonight I got home from the gym and just told him right away. I just said that he's my best friend and a wonderful person, but I don't feel attracted to him physically, and that will never change, so I don't think it's fair to either of us to drag it out. He was very angry, and made some pretty unpleasant comments to me, including (of course) commenting on how he stuck by me when I weighed 200+ lbs. He even said he would've gone to the gym had he known it mattered so much, but honestly, it's not the real issue. Like some of you above said about your past relationship, it just felt like he was my brother. No matter how gorgeous my brother got, I'd never want to have sex with him, you know? Anyway, he said he hopes I find some meathead who will treat me like crap so I realize what a mistake I made by breaking up with him. Packed a small suitcase and went to his grandparents, telling me he'll make sure most of his stuff is out of here by end of May and that he will avoid seeing me like the plague because "the sight of you will make me vomit." URGH.
