I was also banded at TR Houston in March 2010. I have NOT been back to them since 2011 because of the same foolishness that you experienced! They also kept telling me that I had a dilated pouch as well and would not give me a fill. I have not had a fill since 2011. Although I have lost all weight that I had planned to(on my own not depending on the fill) i am noticing that I am beginning to gain some back. I wish my insurance was covering the sleeve when I was going through the process because I would have went with the sleeve and not the band!!
  2. 7lbs lost in one week!! Not bad!! and I havent had a fill in 9 months....1 more lb till im at 160!!!

  3. Yaay me!! Down to 170lbs and feeling good.... Here I come 160!!

  4. FINALLY met my 1st goal weight of 180!!! Now on to my next goal of 170lbs!

  5. yea it does take a while to get an appt. Mine is also scheduled for mid Dec. I am going for a tummy tuck as well..
  6. Has anyone used this surgeon? I've heard he's the best in Houston. Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with him.
  7. 8 more lbs to go till my 1st goal weight!!

  8. What side of town r u on?
  9. Im soo happy now that ive found a new surgeon who accepts patients not banded by him. And he accepts my insurance so I wouldnt have to pay an arm and leg out of pocket!!

  10. Whoo Hoo!! another 3lbs in 3 days!! I am officially 50lbs lighter!!!

  11. Got another fill today!! YaaaY!!! Now maybe my weightloss will pick up!!

  12. No not since the insurance requirements last yr. Im sure she would need a food journal that I havent been keepn on paper.

  13. Haha that's funny! Same weight, same goal, same height. Yeah, I still haven't gotten around to jogging. I'm so sedentary. I've spent most of my day today reading. Not a lot of physical activity involved in that. My calorie tracking wouldn't work well if I didn't eat foods that are relatively simple, and easy to put into the tracker (stir-fries, simple sauces etc). Have you seen a nutritionist?

  14. I swear we are "twins"....lol.... I am also 5'2' and EXTREMELY lazy when it comes to exercise!! I just recently joined the YMCA (like last week) jus so I could try to reach my goal. Im really confused on the calorie intake thing. I havent figured out what wrks for me (after 1yr being banded) jus yet.

Yes the cost of the fills are rather expensive. My insurance is getting hit about $600 just for using their machine whether they fill me or not!!
