  1. Hahaha I am 15 years into the lap band successfully with no fills and still down almost 100 pounds from surgery day. Was 150+ down before life stepped in lol. I love my band still, however. Exactly as my doctor had said this band is not a magic era it is to help you learn how to eat well. He was exactly truthful and that’s the way it is today. I eat one filling meal a day about 3 PM and a snack around 8 PM. My meal is generally planned about a week in advance because I still craving love food. So I eat it, all of it. Just not all at once.

1st Protein must have substance no bullshit food like lettuce. The protein of it is generally about 3 or 5 ounces. When it hurts I stop eating. Rule #1

snack: salami & good cheese 2oz

    drink ONLY Water ever lol

reminder: the only exception to any rule is there’s always an exception mine has a 30 day value to it minimum.

eat and drink what you crave

never eat it more than once a month

lots of luck it’s all in your head

  2. So, I have had my band and I love it by the way for more than 3 years. My weight has gone from 325+ to now 225 and I have and do work our 4 times a week, nothing to strenous, walking very fast and toe touches as well as arm swinging fro rotation of waist. NOW, I am feeling like something is wrong cause of this tender area. I can feel my port but feels like it is not laying as it was before. I can and do eat solids and Soups porpotionately and they stay down so I am not sure waht is going on. The tenderness is just below my center - top of stomach and the tenderness is and has been there for 3 days now. What do or would you do. I know about -run to the doctor and have it checked so please do net tell me that. Just trying to find feed back from anyone who may have experienced this in their journey and what their results were for resolve. Thanks in advance.

  3. Hi All,

I was banded Oct 22. I had to be put in ICU after surgery for 24 hours because of my sleep apena being so bad. The only other issue I had was the incision where the actual band was placed started to bleed a week after surgery, but my doctor said it was okay. It quit after a week and I have been doing good every since.

Weight before lap band journey - 274

Weight day of surgery - 254

    Weight as of 12/5 - 234

40 pound lost to date!!! :clap2:

    No fills yet.

I eat 2 ounces three times a day and it holds me for 4 - 5 hours. I feel like I have won the weight loss lottery. I hope it stays this way and I won't need any fills, doc says that happens to some people.

Anyone else out there having success with the band without fills?

14 months and No FIlls. Lost over 110lbs. I love my band.

  4. I really didn't initially start exercising till about 3 months ago or so and I started with the attitude of - I HATE WORKING OUT - then i realized if weight loss and better health is what I really want THEN I gotta do what I gotta do and it all began with - SHOWING UP DAILY at the GYM - NOW, I just and still walk for 45 minutes, swim for 10 and sauna and hot tub for the remainder of my time there daily. My mind fought me ALOT for a long time but this month I commited to myself to make the entire month daily. I had started out once a week, then twice a wekk then every other day and NOW EVERY DAY and I am thinking that I will continue doing it like this UNTIL I get EXACTLY where I want to be. ACTION is the call and SHOWING UP DAILY at the GYM makes that all come together and I thought I would share my experience with everyone. It is no big deal, I DO NOT press myself during my workout either. BUT, I do show up EVERY DAY. Good Luck to All - You too can do it.....

BTW-I just exceeded my personal goal of 100 lbs in 12 months, I did it in 11. God is Good to me.

  5. Yep - I am positive this is my band. I know where my port is and it is fine just always a reminder daily that things are good and it is still there and fine. BUT, above this port in the center of my chest at the Y is definatly my Band so I guess I am special. Origionally the band was under my cavity and just a knowing it was there UNITL my baby CHelsey elbowed me and then it popped up in the center of my chest and I am able to touch it, wel half of it anyway. It is tilted just a little and even when I totally recline in my chair at home and look down my chest I can see it........... This is NOT a problem for me, I just wanted to check in with all of you to see IF - I am special ;)

  6. Hello Bandsters and I hope life for ya'll is as expected and healthy. BUT, I have a concern/question. I have had nothing but success and blessed with much weight loss and I love it. However, I work with some one who also had the surgery and we were talking and I told the story of how I can touch my band with my fingers and feel probly 50% of the band. Well, he looked at me like I was insane "flag" :heh: so thats what brings me here today. I can actualy touch my band and feel around it, its kinda freaky but not a problem for me. I had my grand daughter hit it with her elbow about the 3rd month and it did move right into the middle of my Y at the bottom of my rib cage. I was scared I had hurt it but after some time I quit worrying about it cause I knew it was still working. So, does this make me special or jsut concerned. God Bless and everyone, be safe, healthy and happy.

  7. :girl_hug: Thought I would just add that this site truely inspires me and my journey. I try and update my journal weekly for referrence and I really am doing great and like a lot of ya'll, we have our trials and cheats  but what I take away from here is balance and excitement. Right now I am kinda holding at 281 but I am inspired by everyone's input. So, thank you and keep on keeping on - We Can Do It, whatever it is.

    Merry Christmas
