  1. Thanks, Tracey! I've had one fill so far (2cc's) and go for my next one this Thursday at which time I will get another 2cc's. My dr. will apparently not fill any higher than 2cc's at a time. I know it will be different for each person, but just trying to get an idea of the variations, especially with the larger band. I've read where some people have 12cc's in their 14cc band and say they are still not feeling any restriction. I'm following the diet I'm supposed to and I'm losing weight....but am pretty hungry most of the time. I'll do what I need to in order to get the weight off and keep it off. I'm trying to keep my expectations realistic, but am curious about everyone else and how much fill they have needed to get a decent restriction.

Thanks again for your response and best wishes to you!

Im at 11.5cc and finally at my sweet spot. Feeling full for a while and eating about a cup of food and feel full.......

  2. The only problem you need to realize is that if your using an insurance to pay for it, they may have limitations on Lapro procedures. I know my insurance allowed only one procedure, so if I didnt follow my diet and the liver was too fatty, and they couldnt safely move the liver during surgery, then that was it.

    So, it is important....

  3. Ok, had my first fill and I have 5cc in my band. But please help me understand....

Do mushies pass through the band? If not, then how big is the pouch prior to the green zone?

I find that I can eat about a cup of cottage cheese and a cup of refried fat free Beans and Im full finally....

It just seems too easy to eat that much....

So is it passing through? or sitting in my pouch?

  4. :)

Just when I thought it was safe to go back in the Water....

    BAM!

  6. I'd pretty much kill for a filet right now. I'm eyeing the dog and trying to figure out just where it would be on his body....

  7. My only concern is on my left side, where the port is, whenever I walk or get up from a sitting position it feels like it's not in the right spot, like maybe it's moving around. I'm concerned that it's possibly gotten disconnected from where it should be and it is just flopping around in my body?

I asked this question at my follow up and this was the awnser I got:

The nerves under your ribs and along the abdomen are very sensitive to irritation, and it will take them a while to get immune to the port being their. They arent used to something rubbing or touching them, so they react sensitively. In time, they will get use to the rubbing and touching and eventually ignore it. Til then, you will probably feel it.

That was probably one of my only concerns too. Especially since sleeping on my left is my favorite!

Dont worry people, we are all Terminators now.:w00t:

  8. Not too sure if Im experienced to awnser, but the whole point of the strict post op diet is to let your insides heal. Both the insides and outside have to heal before your body can handle things. My Dr. Told me this because it is easier to digest things on the diet and slowly implement foods. I think with the swelling and bloating inside post op, that it strains the internals to digest normally.

Stick to the diet plan and let yourself heal.
