lol ... do people actually cuss the doctors out? that would be great... i already warned DH that he may hear an earful!! holy crap! $500??? that's A LOT of stuff!! enjoy your dinner!!! yeah, im relatively low maintenance... all i ask for is ice every once in awhile ... especially now that i can take a 'field trip' or two to the ice machine...

rather than get in a pissing contest, allow me to educate you WHY there is a post op diet and you shouldnt be eating steak until your doctor (not anyone else - noone on here, your BFF, your mother) tells you differently. the post op diet is for healing.... it is not intended to torture you ... it is also not intended to lose weight... if you've lost weight on the post op diet, great job... it's a BONUS of what is to come... they dont call this "bandster hell" for nothing. YES - YOU WILL BE HUNGRY... up your Protein, see what Protein drinks your doctor recommends... you really need to limit the amount your stomach churns so it can heal. think of a 'normal' cut on say your leg... what do you do, you take care of it, maybe put a bandaid on it so it stays clean and dry... now think of your stomach... is there any way to keep it clean and DRY? nope... that delays 'normal' healing times... eating foods you should not be eating and having the stomach churn delays this even more and you could evenutally end up with a slipped band... not necessarily 1-2 months down the road... we're talking 2-3-5 years down the road.. if you are several weeks post op and really truly struggling wiith your current phase, call your SURGEON and see if they can suggest something.

ok, people ... i know it's Friday night / Saturday morning and you all have lives but please ... we need more posts... dont make me go read the post-op thread ... my head will explode!!!! HOW did you handle 5 weeks??? omg, today was day 15 and im literally going bonkers... i've watched so much TV on my netbook that im jsut about cross-eyed.... i dont think it would be so bad but i HAVE to be laying down on my sides ... rarely sitting up, etc... at least i get a shower a day and i can take a 'field trip' to the ice machine every once in awhile... thats ok ... less than 1 week left... gahh... sorry about you being too tight and throwing up. glad they got you in to fix it. this group of docs will.not.induce early unless there is medical reason to do so ... i dont wanna make my BP spike just to get induced so if he doesnt come on his own, i guess i'm stuck with Dr. Suck, but oh welll ... the only real reason i left her is because of her personality - she has none... its not like she was a bad doc.

tap - im thinking about sending him an eviction notice ... i'm full term today and im ready to go... plus my least fave OB is on call on my induction day ... i actually left her for someone else in the practice... anytime between now and Thursday would be great. the 25th ideal cause that's my doctor. re mobsters - even if you join a mob, you really dont have to do anything ... it just benefits the person who invited you... DH is part of my mob and he hasnt done anything on his account for all i know.... i did take the ambien and holy crap it knocked me out. took it about midnight, woke up once to go to the bathroom then right to bed, once again for vitals, was up for maybe 10 mins (normally 1-2 hours after those vitals) and i finally woke up for good about 850. if i take it again i think i'll just take it earlier. i didnt have any dreams that i remember which is good cause i'm watching season 1 of Dexter ... and if i would dream, it would probably be about that... yikes!!

PJTP - I dunno if I really liked ambien... same amount of sleep as benadryl, maybe more sound sleep?? still woke up about 4am, but it looks like I slept thru my neighbors delivery.... which is good!

yeah... i've never really 'talked' to her before ... i am SOOO not in the mood tonight ... loud talking neighbors will do that to me... i posted a response, dunno if she'll figure out i am talking about her or not.

2 shots were given on 1/2 & 1/3 respectively... my ultrasounds are wonky due to previous surgeries and scar tissue... (gall bladder with a 'zipper scar', lap band and TT) so they arent fabulous quality just good enough... last week his weight was 5lbs 4oz give or take 1/2 pound either way... as long as i dont have neighbors on either side i sleep VERY well... one neighbor went home and one might be leaving soon. i told my RN if she's still there about midnight i'll go for the Ambien tonight... kinda petrified to take it though - i've never taken it before.. :thumbup: contractions have continued, but they are still very irregular. doc said this may go on for a week or so, if they become more regular they'll "check my tonsils" (heh) and see how things are progressing... i guess since this is the first pregnancy i've gotten this far im afraid im going to miss a contraction (or several) :biggrin:

he'll be considered full term tomorrow, but who knows? even some full term babes need to go to NICU... we'll see... i've been on bed rest since new years day - in the hospital for this stay 14 days today... all day long i had NO neighbors, now i have them on both sides of me and they are LOUD talkers once again ... WTF people ... you are in a hospital, HUSH!! that's weird about your fill... hopefully you are just a tad swollen right now and it'll get better.;

yeah, but you'll do great cause you can go and get your proper restriction again ... you can do it! :biggrin:

im so excited .. and ready!! i really wanna get out of the hospital... it's been 14 days today. :biggrin: :thumbup: i'll at least have him post to my FB account and my blog NO!! as long as i can make it til tomorrow (i'll be 37 weeks and 'full term') i'm perfectly fine with going anytime after that... i need to get out of here! gahhhhhhhh!!

thanks guys... doc said this could last for a week or so (they are THAT irregular)... hopefully not... either way, a week from tomorrow is induction if i dont go on my own..

another update ... i'm having very irregular contractions... it's 4:30pm and i've felt 3 all day ... hopefully they wont have to induce cause i REALLY dont want pitocin due to the pain factor and i'm a wimp... i know i will get an epidural so BP doesnt skyrocket, but i'd rather wait on that as long as i can...

my band doc left the decisions up to me (i had been banded 2+ years and he figured i knew my body/my band the best)... in the beginning i got really tight, had unfill, then a fill then completely unfilled about 17 or so weeks (my choice)... im glad i did get the complete unfill due to port placement and where my uterus has grown to... good luck

hi brubear, congrats! try not to worry about 'only' being 7 months out of your surgery - nothing that you can do about it now .. :biggrin: you've lost 39 pounds so that is a great start. you can pick up after delivery and lose the baby weight and any extra you'd like to lose. the first few weeks i was VERY tight and got 1/2 of my Fluid out, went in got filled a tad then eventually ended up getting a complete unfill because i was afraid i would not be able to get unfilled if i needed it later. i'm really glad i did because my uterus has expanded to where my port is. if your doctor insists on a complete unfill and you dont want one, i suggest you sit down and talk with them. not everyone needs a complete unfill. best of luck to you!

i watched it and thought it was simply amazing. i heard that he wrote most of it himself (CNN)... i really liked the dig at Shrub that said now we are ready to actually lead (paraphrasing of course)

i couldnt agree more ... cause even if they keep her around for awhile, there's NO WAY she is going to win any money unless its another challenge/temptation....

other than sleep deprived (loud neighbors again at 330 - i'm soooo lucky...) we are doing ok. BP is creeping up so we may induce earlier than the 30th, but as long as he can hang on til this coming Friday, i'll be happy. good luck on your fill. sorry you have to travel so far. :tongue:

thats what it appears to be but who knows?? i hope not... but i have to say that i'd probably send the brown shirt guy (not sure of names yet) home ... the other, IMO, needs it more... but yeah, tough choice!
