  1. Hi there. I had gastric bypass about 3 months ago, have had no complications and have lost about 54 pounds so far. All has been going swimmingly! EXCEPT, I had some whipped cream Sunday which led to diarrhea and then all day extreme gas pains after eating small snacks. I switched to liquids on Monday, still experienced severe gas all day and today, Tuesday, had low carb, low fat, high protein snacks and tolerated them well. UNTIL I just had sugar free pudding and a small bit of chicken ravioli (3-5 bites) and the gas pain started up again. Ugh! Does anyone know what I should be doing?! Is this normal to have gas pains like this several days after dumping?
  2. How are you feeling now, New World Me? I’m still having gas pains, it sucks!!!!
  3. I JUST had my first dumping episode yesterday, ate something sugary and feel like a moron that I did that. Anyway, right after I had horrible gas after having diarrhea. I tried eating some bland things (graham crackers) but then realized THOSE HAVE SUGAR TOO ahhh I hate myself. Long story short this is day 2, I have a major headache and only have had liquids today to ingest. May just have broth tonight and let my tummy rest today. I’m hungry but I’ve managed worse. I didn’t realize dumping would cause days of discomfort (for me, severe gas pains when I eat).
  4. Yes! Would love to be a part of this. RNY 9/8, SW 230, CW 197, 5’5”

    Day 1 post opp

Thank you for sharing this! I am Day 2 of post op and am MISERABLE. So much pain it’s hard to get comfortable. Been walking a lot which helps to move gas but I find breathing deeply very painful. Really looking forward to getting through this week.

    Anyone for September 2020?

Surgery is tomorrow!!!!! Eek! So ready for this .. the pre op diet has been insane!!!!!
  9. Hey everyone! Thought I’d share my experience for those about to go through the pre-op liquid diet. I’m finishing up Day 13 of liquids only. No meals allowed on my diet. I was about 95% compliant and stuck to broth, Premier Protein Shakes, sugar free jello, and Bariatric Soups (low cal and fat, high protein). And water. Some Gatorade Zero. Overall I’ve lost 15 pounds since my highest weight (238, 5’6”) - this morning I weighed 223. It has been honestly kind of hell. I’m a grazer and love salty snacks and broth and soups have helped, but I’ve been white knuckling it and I have been a total tempermental MESS around my family (I’ve apologized many times - ha!). I’m irritated and angry I can’t have my cheese and wine and salty marcona almonds before dinner (it’s a wonder how i gained weight in the first place, right?) ;) I did cheat on the liquid diet; four or five of the 14 days I had plain chicken breast, about 1/4 to a 1/2 a cup, when I thought I would faint or die from hunger. I snuck an occasional pickle here and there and once had a couple of scoops of pico de Gallo. Otherwise, I’ve been suffering and had to ask my family to stop making aromatic food at dinner because it fills the whole house and makes me hungry from places I’ve never felt hunger. But, I’ve survived and the last 2 days have been easier. The good news? I never realized how much I grazed and ate emotionally and to combat stress. I’m really glad I took this seriously because I learned a lot about my old eating habits that I did out of routine. Also, Premier Protein shakes made me extremely constipated!!!! In case you were wondering why you may have rock hard poops. Ha. I’m ready to finish today out strong, enjoy my day off as much as possible tomorrow, and mentally prepare myself for surgery on Tuesday AM. Any questions comments hit me up! I’m so thrilled to be on this journey with you all.

    Anyone for September 2020?

My surgery is September 8th!!!!! Wooooo! Ready to be done with this liquid diet my GOD!!!!!!! 2 more days!
  11. Hi there! I have been having 1/4 cup of plain chicken breast a few times a week on the liquid diet. It’s pure protein and I know will get me into Ketosis to shrink my liver. Now that I’m 3 days out I’m sticking to liquids so my stomach is clear. I’m looking forward to the surgery!!!

SO REAL! I have lost 14 pounds on this diet in the last 7 days, I'd be shocked to see any more significant weight loss but who knows...either way, I am constantly hungry..... blarrrrgh.

I knowwww. I am just so head hungry. I have had all my protein and now I just wish I could go to bed so I’m not around food but...kids. Sigh. I may sneak a lean chicken breast for dinner tomorrow night and some steamed broccoli.

    Anyone for September 2020?

Man my Gastric Bypass Liquid Diet (2 days in!) has so far been a BEAST of a mental and hunger battle. But I know it must be done to avoid being opened up and sewn back up and had no surgery. I had 120 oz of water today, 800 calories, and 100 grams of protein. I heard the first 3 days are the toughest and then it gets easier!
