    ACoA's and Eating Issues

if you are and adult child of an alcoholic you may attend meetings. the death of parents cant change that. my father has been in recovery for 30 years. he sponsers and goes to many meetings. i never saw him drunk, but i go to meetings. the status of your parents, sober or deceased does not change anything.

    Hello from Jupiter Florida

hi pete. i used to work and live in jupiter. i worked at jupiter medical center and had two surgeries there. great hospital. i recommend the hospital. i had my surgery in mexico with dr.daniel huacuz. i think he is super. if you can get your surgery close to home than i think it is better . i miss jupiter. i used to catch snook right off the shore at the jupiter inlet. good luck with your journey. did you do any research on the sleeve? hope all goes well with you.

    Betrayal is a BITCH

i think you are facing big decisions with big consequences. it may be a good idea to write down all your feelings and what you plan to do. but,,, maybe wait a while before you do anything. the emotions you are going through are driving you. you want to make decisions based on intelligence not emotions......... i am in now way saying you should tolerate your situation, just take time ......... take care of yourself and i hope things get better for you.

I want to skip our Vegas vacation!

i can understand you not wanting to go. i go to vegas a lot. i will tell you that most people are totally relaxed and on vacation. everyone chilling. it may be just what you need. your man wants you there. most guys want to go alone. tells me you must be wanted.. i think you should be there for your man and try to make him happy. if hes happy then arent you happy.
  9. i went to dr. huacuz too. he is super...

  10. julia, i was eating compulsively. the band stopped me from eating too much and i lost the weight. once my body adjusted to less food and healthy food, i felt better and lost the interest in food. then i went through a stage of being almost anorexic. now i think after 3 years ive finally got it together. if you go to all the trouble to do this, make sure you follow the rules and set correct healthy habits from the start. i eat ice cream once in a while now. but that was my fat food before so i stayed away for over 2 years.. i will always have to be conscious of my eating...... i stay very active . good luck to you.
  11. sounds like you are doing some grieving. when my boyfriend died i was 38. his name was jake and he had the coolest dog named jack. they were both shot on our new boat, a wedding to be present from his dad. life was so good for us. he was a federal agent. i lost my best friend , then i found out i was pregnant and felt so happy to know i would have a piece of him forever. then i lost the baby. i had to fight everyday to get out of bed . nothing helped. i gained 100lbs and never went out for almost a year, except work. i used the weight as protection. i was never going to let anyone in again. never gonna get hurt again. later when i recovered from the grief and depression, i wanted to lose the weight and feel good again. well i did lose the weight but it is still a struggle to let people back in. i had to force myself to get involved... mostly i work with microfinancing for the poor. i still dont let people close to me like i want to , but change is hard and it takes time. you have this new body and maybe have yet to find your own style and sense of self in it. i think we all realize that the weight loss makes us feel better physically and we look better. but the insides take time to adjust and to heal. the important thing is to try to focus on the good things and how far we have come. i think each person has a unique factor involved along with the common factors. i hope you can enjoy your success. its like you moved to a new house in a new town and nothing seems familiar ..... but one day you wake up and you realize you are home. i may not know how you feel, but i can relate to pain and suffering and isolation. hope its all uphill from here.
