Soda, "Chips" and Cake and still losing weight....

Kelly don't be discouraged at 5 months out I had only lost 15lbs...well I lost and gained and my total was 15lbs, my first 3 months I dropped weight super fast, then I gained muscle from working out, it was SO discouraging to me.. but I've learned to go off of my clothing size and not the scale, I have a very solid/thick/muscular frame.. people looking at me would NEVER believe I weigh what I weigh, but muscle weighs more than fat. Just remember it's a journey you're on it's going to take some time, and on the upside.. the slower you lose it, the tighter your skin stays

Soda, "Chips" and Cake and still losing weight....

I'm going to stick with that... and di know you need to trick up your body, which actually was my purpose with the cake... but the rest of it.... not sure where that's coming from.
  3. I have often told those dieting or making an effort to lose weight to be sure they DON'T weigh themselves daily. This habit becomes obsessive and can be disappointing. I really need to take my own advise. I woke up this morning anxious to see the scale move down another pound again... I got on the scale.. I was .8 from it moving... frustrated I remembered what the skinny girls I used to work with would go on and on about.. "Oh I never weigh myself until after I have a BM, it makes such a HUGE difference." Hmmm works for them, may work for me. I go about my day..... and the time comes.. after I run and get on the scale now .6 away from the scale moving down... "Hmmm poop sure doesn't weigh very much does it?!?!?" I think to myself. A few minutes later I'm having an over share moment and I'm talking to a friend of mine who has the same weight loss struggles I do, we laugh about how different it must be when skinny girls poop cause she had tried the same thing and had the same result I had. We've decided all of their fat is stored in their intestines and that's why they always look thin, but evidently have REALLY heavy poo. My day continues and another BM comes...ok now THIS...THIS has got to make the difference.. I run and jump on the scale .1 from the scale moving... Are you kdding me?!?!!??! Ok I give up.. I give up.... I'll stop for the day. I end up taking a nap and waking up to have a dinner of black bean burgers and hummus, water and a small glass of organic soy milk. I decide to weigh myself again... I gained .7 that can't be right... I get a call and forget about it... a couple of hours later.. I'm on the scale again... WHAT?!??!?! HOW COULD I HAVE GAINED 3LBS?!?!?!??!?!?! So the moral of the story is, dont' weigh yourself everyday and if you do make sure it's at the same time everyday but don't stress if it goes up or doesn't move because our weight fluxuates by a few pounds through out the day and there's absolutely NOTHING we can do about it.. also we tend to weigh more at night, as we're water and just as the ocean tide is effected by the moon, so are we. I know all of this, I've done the research for YEARS and yet I think I was becoming addicted to the high of seeing the scale go down every day.....today was a reality check and reminder to TAKE MY OWN ADVICE!
  4. Although, I did catch myself doing the "Few pounds down" happy naked dance on the scale yesterday, I'm pretty sure there was a woohoo in there too.. but shhhhh don't tell anybody lol
  5. HAHAHAHAHAHA that's HILARIOUS! I think scales are a tool of the devil.. #justsayin lol
  6. So I came across this AWESOME recipe...and as fat kids, former fat kids and on our way to being former fat kids... you know there's one thing we all have in common... WE LOVE CAKE! lol So I came across this awesome recipe for "Red Carpet Ready Cake" they're individual cakes that are SUPER band friendly and easy and the best part it's a 100 calorie snack ok 150 if you go crazy with the toppings.. but don't! If you're following weight watchers it's 3 points (I'm not but the creator of the recipe is soooo figured I'd add it in for those of you that are.) Ok so here's what you'll need: 1 Box of Angel Food Cake Mix (I used Duncan Hines) 1 Box of Flavored Cake Mix (I used Pillsbury Strawberry because I know it's SUPER moist and it goes well) Water Optional: (but in my opinion SO necessary lol) 1 container of Cool Whip Free - yes FREE not lite, FREE. Fruit to garnish. Go home open both cake mixes and mix them together in a ziplock bag or container that you will hold the rest of the mixture in. Once it's mixed you're ready to go. Now the cake part: In a microwave safe container mix the following: (I used a big coffee/soup mug) 3 tablespoons of cake mix 2 tablespoons of water 1 minute in the microwave Top with Cool Whip Free and Fruit (I use blueberries or sliced strawberries but just a couple) Enjoy! Save the rest of the mix for the next time you want a sweet treat that's both band and weight loss friendly, while being quick and delicious! Like the title says.. You'll thank me later! lol
  7. That's always the goal isn't it?!!? lol
  8. LOL well my friends seem to like and as one of their 4 yr old daughter's informed me, it is now her "FAVORITE CAKE IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD?!?! YOU KNOW WHY?!?!?!? CAUSE I MADE IT MYSELF" as she yelled excitedly into the phone lol... soo umm yeah lol let me know how your 3yr old likes it lol
  9. Judy I hope your new Dr is better than before and helps you to stay encouraged and on track! Let me know how you like it
  10. We've all been there.. just stay on the plan and stick with it... I too lost more weight during the pre-op than I lost in the same amount of time after... (there's actually a slight gain after surgery from the IV fluids and gas) I like 32lbs in 3 weeks pre-op and in the 3 weeks post op I lost 20 so you'll be glad you stuck to it.. and honestly not everyone looses during pre-op or has big numbers as a result but you're doing this so your body will be in it's prime condition for surgery and healing.. You'll do great, be encouraged!

You've always been an inspiration! Congratulations on your success!

    Wishes I'd never done this....

Sometimes it's good to just start over all over again... you'll be healed and ready to go. Not knowing your dr's rules it's hard to say, but that very well may be part of the problem. On here I've seen some of the strangest things told to patients or patients have had done to them (Like one lady getting 5ccs at a fill - where do they do that at?!??!) And eating right before your fill, eating right after etc... The main focus here is to realize YOU didn't do anything wrong... so now you start fresh and build your way back up... with the advantage of knowing what to do and what to expect ahead of time. To be honest with you, I have a 3 bag a week Sonic Ice habit (I was an ice eater before surgery) but nothing helps my stomach more than that.. whether I'm stuck, or sliming or just irritated it soothes it immediately but every body is different so you need to figure out what works for you. Best of luck and keep us posted on your new progress!

    New pics...documenting progress

Trying to document my progress, living alone it's hard to get full body pics, so mirrors will have to do lol... Anyways, this is just a documentation for me and those who are curious

    WHY IS NOTHING WORKING!

This is why therapy is key to having the surgery, you need to deal with the underlying issues. Self esteem is an important part of the process. You're doing EXCELLENT you've reached a plateau, this is great for a couple of reasons: 1.) You're doing everything right so your body is used to it and 2.) You can go off track for a few days enjoy yourself and get right back on it... Also it's important to wow yourself, not your family... you're doing great, keep it up and keep us posted.

    Wishes I'd never done this....

Sounds like you're having swelling issues with your fills.. Are you doing the liquids after your fills? Are you eating cool things to help with the swelling as warm liquids to open you up before you attempt to eat? It's important to baby yourself after fills, just as you did after surgery, popsicles, ice, puddings, yogurts, shakes, etc are all great and then ease your way up. This is alot of work and it takes a while to get to your sweet spot, but don't give up you'll get there. Be encouraged!
  17. Hey lady! Vegan diet is going well.. lots of results, I also went gluten free which wasn't necessary but it makes a HUGE difference.. my face no longer bloats on a daily basis etc.. carbs/gluten always seemed to make be grow an extra chin over night LOL.. anyways it's all going good, I know what you mean about the stall, but back on tracky missy! lol WE CAN DO THIS!

  18. Hey Lady! I haven't lost 100 yet, close but not yet, just calling my blog that lol... nice marketing tool ;)

I'll add you on FB! Hopefully you're easy to find, I can't wait to see the baby! And then we can keep up with each other more regularly because I'm ALWAYS on there lol... I may have a problem lol

Day one of Pre-Op (Liquid) Diet

Keep up the good work, every day is a process and a step further in our journey. You're doing great!
  20. Thank you so much.. I need to add some new pics my avatars are from April or May, I did a collage in one of my blogs of weight over the years, was interesting to me. But I just took some the other day, ok let me stop lying because I pretty much take some every week lol.. I'll update soon.. and you MARVELOUS and Beautiful as well, but then again you always did!

  21. Yvette1026

    Goalllllllllllllllllllllllll!!! (a long overdue update!)

You are looking absolutely FABULOUS my dear, glad to hear the sleeve went well for you. I'm a year out now and we're at about the same weight loss, and it's just been a few months for you. Not that I'm complaining.. 74lbs is 74lbs no matter how you slice it lol.. but you're looking wonderful, please please please keep us posted. You know I love your blogs!
  22. Yvette1026

BEWARE - Banded 1-11-11 and had to much saline.

That's really interesting and unfortunate. But be glad your doctor was able to see you and relieve the problem, several places would have told you to go to the ER. Now that you're doing better, keep up posted on your progress!
  23. Yvette1026

    I cheated

Don't be so hard on yourself.. it's about a lifestyle for ever change.. not a true diet. 8 pieces of chex mix is NOTHING... you could have "cheated" with alot worse things that that... rejoice in the fabulous job you're doing!
  24. Yvette1026

    is it time yet...

So start now... I started early... was required 2 weeks I did it for almost 6... lost 32lbs in a month pre-op.. go for it!
  25. Yvette1026

    liquid hell

Don't fear... be encouraged! The amount of pounds isn't necessary even 1 pound makes a difference, the point of the pre-op is to remove the fat from your liver so it's easier to move and work around during the surgery. They know you're not really able to lose weight on your own that's why you're getting the surgery. But stay on it, it will all be worth it when you have an easy surgery and an even easier recovery. Keep us posted!
