  1. You should be proud of yourself. I'm a 10 year vet as well. I've had some serious medical issues the last few years and via medications and some poor eating choices I put on some weight. I'm on the road back to goal and I'll be thrilled when I get there. I'm hoping to be back there before the end of the year. I've actually done better during lockdown then prior with my eating. I'll try to check back as I can use the support as well.
  2. Chi everyone, I saw that this thread was active again so I wanted to pop in and say hello. Congrats on the new babies. I'm so sorry so many of you have had problems. I know a lot of RNY patients who had no problems if you're considering a revision. I still love my sleeve, but it's a daily mindfulness(diet) to maintain my weight loss. Getting off the weight was slow going for me. Keeping it off takes a lot of work eating low carb, but it's possible. Take care everyone. Happy 2015!!!
  3. I may be a Sleever but I still receive email updates on this group because I started here wanting a band, then switched to Sleeve. I'm really happy at over 3 years post op but I am on a strict food plan and exercise 5-7 times a week. The initial period with all of these surgeries helps get weight off but then it's hard work. I'd rather do the work in size 6-8 jeans than 22/24. How issue you all doing? Reggie, has it gotten any easier or you since your post last fall? Anyone switch to Sleeve? Take care everyone!
  4. I live my Body by Sauceda. The LBL is the easiest recovery. I had it all done at once. Arrived Thursday, body Friday, face Monday, moved to hotel Wednesday. Movie and lunch out Friday, Saturday. Dinner out every evening. Monday to the mall, lunch, evening movie. Tuesday getting stitches out. Wednesday fly home. A friend came with me for support. Her hotel was paid by Dr. S. when I was ready I moved into our room at the Hampton Inn. Dr. Sends a driver to the airport to pick us up, then paid for my taxi back to airport. Nurse Patti comes to the hotel daily. Dr. Comes by daily to check on you.

    flat butt help

I had a very successful butt flap done with my LBL in December 2011. It healed beautifully. My surgeon is Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico. Prices are great and include clinic and hotel stay as well.
  6. Hi, Google BMI calculator. Healthy BMI is determined by gender and height. I am female, 5'4". The top of my healthy range is 145. At 146 I am overweight. At 176 I am obese. I strive to stay in my healthy range. I wear size 6-8. Jeans so at 62, I feel good about that. It also keeps me at Lifetime status for Weight Watchers. I go once. Week to stay accountable to myself to not ever go into denial. I use the Bariatric food plan, not WW points. I had Dr. Baggs. I am 2.5 years out from VSG.
  7. Happy 62nd Birthday Bella K.!

  8. The coordinator for Dr. Ponce told my friend the same thing. I booked the Lucerna myself for the same rate that the coordinator told us. Just google it.
  9. I have heard that the Federal insurance plans approve more than any other plan. Good luck! That said, I would go as low as you can weight wise so that you get the best results. Don't sell yourself short. Your Sleeve is a powerful tool!
  10. I stayed five nights in the clinic and seven nights at the Hampton Inn. Dr. Sauceda included it in the cost of my surgery. The Hampton is now around $88 a night including tax. I just booked it for a friend.
  11. I had the bodywork on 12/9/2011 and the face work on 12/12/2011. Two surgeries. The first was 13 hours using an epidural and twilight sleep. It was great. I was up all night reading and watching movies when I got out of recovery.

    Butt Injections

Hello, Dr. Sauceda is in Monterrey Mexico. My recovery is good but the butt flap augmentation is uncomfortable. I could lay in bed the same night but laying on the floor was too uncomfortable for months. I finally started back to Pilates Reformer machine classes after seven months. Dr. Sauceda will give you a personal quote is you send him your pictures. Wear bikini panties. Pics of front, sides, back, raised arms etc. I also sent face and neck pics because I wanted that done. Email him at drsauceda@gmail.com. He doesn't have a secretary, so nely he sees your pics. I think the quote is good for six months. He was more than half less than what Kaiser quoted and he is a great surgeon who specializes in massive weight loss. If you email him, tell him that Lee sent you.

    Eyelid Surgery?

I had both upper and lower eyelids done when I had my plastics. I am 61 and I think that having my eyes opened up like that really made me look younger!

    Scar Creams?

I bought the Bio Oil but did not think it did much good. I've heard that the most important thing is to massage the incisions. My sleeve scars disappeared just massaging with lotion. I am currently using Gene's Vitamin E cream from Sam's club because it's very thick so I can vigorously massage my plastics incisions. I used silicone strips but try are expensive and a pain in the butt.
  15. Hi, the procedures that I had are listed in my surgery. I went to Mexico weighing 151.5. Dr. Sauceda removed 6.5 pounds of skin and two liters of fat were lipoed from my thighs, then injected into my butt. I weighed for the first time two weeks post op when I got home from Mexico. 145. So I was down exactly the weight of the skin that was removed. I did not suffer from a lot of swelling. Hope that helps answer your question!
