  1. What does eating right mean?

Are you getting at least 50g of protein a day?

Are you drinking at lest 64 ounces of water a day?

Try journalling everything you eat and drink if you aren't already doing so. Many of us under estimate how many calories we actually take in.

There are sites like Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, Food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate and FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal that you can do this on for free.

  2. Thanks all. I didn't edt when I was sober and am yet trashed again. I set such a great example for bandsters all over. Just stay drunk and life will be fine. :)

Just so nobody gets the wrong idea, I did walk my dogs for 3 miles today and put them in the house then walk another 3 on my own before imbibing in Irelands greatest gift to mankind, Guinness.

    It's all about about accountability.

  3. Thanks all!!

FnC, My ultimate goal is 170 pounds but if I never lose another pound I am content where I am now.

When I set the 170 goal, I set a plastic surgery goal of 215 pounds and I hit that 2 weeks ago.

I'm estimating that I will lose 10 - 20 with surgery and 6 - 8 inches off of my "waist". I don't mind a little sag in the scar. The surgery is strictly for practical purposes, not cosmetic.

I actually asked the doc about lipo and he said that the cost is close to that of surgery and surgery would be needed later anyways.

  4. You may not need a third fill. I just had my second on Friday and think it may be my sweet spot.

You can enjoy food and beverages but be careful not to eat and drink simultaneously. The drinks reconstitute the food you just chewed well and cause stuckness and sliming.

    Good luck and bon voyage!

  5. They journey is an interesting one and you meet great people along the way. Apprehension is good, the more apprehension, the more soul-searching you'll do.

You may find that the band is not the best thing for you but it is worth the effort to begin the process. It is not too late to turn back until the day of your surgery.

Good luck in whatever your future brings!

  6. I'm an offical bandster!!

I went to lunch with a good friend at a japanese hibachi restaurant. I ordered the salmon; scallops and fried rice.

I Had a small salad and some broth before the meal.

The fried rice gets put on my plate first. I ate about a quarter cup of that with no issue.

Next comes the scallops and salmon. I ate a small piece of salmon, about a 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch. I chewed it well but wouldn't you know it, the first bite gets stuck. No big deal, I'll just force it through with a couple of mouthfuls of water like I have the past 2 times I was stuck.

WRONG!!!! Now the water is sitting in my pouch with the salad and fried rice. The fish is firmly lodged and the other stuff ain't staying down much longer.

I had to excuse myself and run for the men's room while cook was still cooking the beansprouts and stuff.

I barely made it into the stall before I projectile vomitted everything into the toilet.

Still stuck but feeling better I went back to the table and just sat there waiting for my friend to finish. Before she sould finish I was running back to the mens room. This time it wasn't water, it was slime and lots of it.

I went back to the table and my friend had already put my meal in the take out container. We got out of there and I held back the vomitting for the ride back to work.

As soon as I got out of the car, I let go with a gallon of slime and what little food was still left in me.

The salmon finally went down more than an hour later and I feel great.

I have been stuck 3 times, tilapia, pollock and salmon. Do you think maybe I should stay away from fish?

The moral of the story is:

Getting stuck, PBing and sliming in public, like constipation, is only funny until it happens to you.

  7. I'll be the first to admit, it started out as candy-coated BS. I was trying to convince myself. Somewhere along the way I actually started believing it myself and I'm not sure when.

Anyways, the end justifies the means. If I have to con myself and others in order to gain a positive outlook on life, then I'll do it all over again.

    Thanks!!
