I have been overweight for 15 years. Ever sinxe I had my first child. It seems everytime I have a baby I put on more weight and keep it on. In 2008 I researched the Lapband and Gastricbypass. I liked the lapband offers alot better versus the gastric. I went in for my seminar and decided to stay that day and meet with the PA and do the first visit since my insurance requires me to do 6months of followups. This requires them to pretty much check weight and talk with you about nutritrion. In July 2008 I completed my first visit had chest xrays and some blood work. I set my next appointment for August 2008. I go home and do more research and join an online website about the lapband and I stumbled onto the page where people are going in for surgery and after some of them you would see so and so passed away during surgery or it would say 3months from surgery. I then had to rethink this out. I thought how am I going to do this I have 2 children and a great husband how am i going to be able to be selfish and go through this surgery? what if I dont come out of it? What if they never see me again? So my appointment in august came around and I avoided all the calls from True Results. I didnt want to tell them I had chickened out and decided against the procedure. I was scheduled for the surgery in Feb 2009. I passed it up and tried to lose weight on my own. I managed to lose 10lbs but started gaining it back in June. I decided to call True Results once again and find out if I can try again and what I had to do. So they got me in and since I had the chest xray a year prior they were able to count that as a visit. I have 4 more months to go before they can give me a surgery date. I am nervous but not as nervous as before I think I have read alot of the pros and cons of this procedure. I am scared but gaining weight scares me too. We will see how it goes.
