  1. Hey how are you doing? I'm getting nervous and excited all at once. I go monday to the doctor to go over things one more time before surgery and then on the 13th I have some testing and try a whole bunch of protein products before surgery! Its the final countdown! I'm going tomorrow to do a 3m marathon! My first one ever! I don't plan on running, but will be speed walking! Just wanted to say "Hi" to my band buddy!

  2. Glad to hear you made it out ok, other than the paid from the hernia and all. I guess its better to get that fixed now then later and having on-going complications from not knowing if would have been the band or the hernia causing you trouble. Just think positive and the hernia and surgery is behind you now! FYI-luv the corsette! It also gives me great motivation of eventually fitting into one of those as well!ttyl!

  3. Just checking to see how ya doing! Wish you luck April Bandster friend!

  4. Hey! Just checking to see how you are doing!

  5. Goodluck tomorrow! I will waiting to hear how ya doing when you get up and going and feel up to it!

  6. Thanks for responding! I'm sure with fighting with all the new changes can easily make one to start smoking again, but remember just like with food addictions forgive yourself and each day is a new day! Good Luck and will continue to follow up on ya!

    7 months out!

Hey you look amazing for just 7m out in those pics! Will you tell me what your excerise routine was?
  10. So when do you get your first fill? Glad to know that eventually it does feel like just like old times as far as back to normal and eat real food!!

  11. Hey how are you doing? How is the balancing of work and the band going? Just thinking of you!

  12. How exciting to see someone who shares the same day of the surgery! My husband also has always been good with staying in shape too. He actually goes to the gym almost daily. We went thru 9mo with out the gym and he gained some weight but nothing compared to mine. I've always felt big even when I was a senior in high school but now looking back I would do anything to be that size again! Ive primarily gained my weight after I had a full hysterectomy 2 yrs ago and its been a struggle ever since. Not looking forward to the preop diet either but I guess it will help the shockness that happens at first from eating food to liquids. My step mom had this surgery and stated after 4th or 5th day she started eating mushy foods. She said that every body is different and you just have to do what your body tells you. I figured the longest I can follow the diet they have as a guide the more I would loose. Talk to you soon! :rolleyes2:

  13. I think that people who don't consider the band just aren't there yet mentally to finally make that choice. Some people want to loose weight, but don't want to change their day to day habits of eating and lack of exercise. While others are afraid of the complications of some sort of havng the surgery. Me on the other hand, I lost my mother 1 1/2 yrs ago and grew up with my mom being sick most of her life. The last yr she lost over 75 pounds due to dialysis. Over the years she had struggled with her weight and wouldn't you know it took a major illness for her to finally see herself thin, but she knew she was dying at that sametime. I myself don't want my son to grow up watch me be ill whether it would be diabetes or heart. I know I can still get these diseases, but weight is a major factor in these diseases and I feel that I must fight this before it can come to me....My sister is much heavier than me and has diabetes, heart problems, and high blood pressure and when I told her that I was going to use 2k of the money from the sell of my mom's estate to pay for the surgery she didn't understand saying I thought you had other plans for that money are you really sure you want to do it? I said of coarse I want to live a qualify life. Good luck everyone and thanks for the support. I get banded 4-27!!

    Relationship Changes?

:tongue2:Ok, I have been getting as much info as I possibly can to prepare me for anything before surgery and after surgery. My husband is starting to think I'm going crazy because ultimately he is saying every's body is different. So no matter what I do my body may react different and my body will tell me what I can or can not do. I'm sure he is right, but I'm just so anxious and I love this website. I think my husband my worry that I will freak out and change. Has there been relationship changes after the band?

  16. Hey! How you doing? Ive seen some of your posts and notice today that its been 6 days for you. Just some small words of encouragement from me, but I hope today is going good for you. Didnt know how long you have taken off work or what have ya, but I wish you well on this journey!

  17. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Glad to hear you are reaching your goals~!

  18. Has anyone had to deal with insurance covering 90% and then the hospital wanting the out of pocket expenses upfront before surgery. Is this something that can be agreed upon or ? They are telling me I need 2800 upfront before surgery and I only planned for 750! Is there anything out there that says that a hospital must work w/ you on the remaining amount or is it even negotiable? Im deciding whether or not I need to possibly switch facility which means probably the doctor too. Just freaking out I will know more Monday, but I've waited this long to get approved to be told that I have to come up with this kind of money upfront before surgery!

Save the date! Its scheduled for 4-27!

Ok I got excited because I have my surgery scheduled, but got a call from the preregistration at the hospital and they said that I have to come up with 2800 dollars upfront before the surgery. I asked about payment plans and the lady is going to get back with me by monday, but its upsetting that for one I wasn't told earlier about my out of pocket expenses, I only planned for $750, and then for two that the lady is not sure if they will work out payment plans with me....I'm so disgusted. Has anyone had their surgery at MiamiValley Hospital in Dayton Ohio?? or have had this issue? Any suggestions??

I have made some great steps of change in the last 6mo. I know at first I was very disappointed by having to do the 6m diet, but it helped prepare me for the steps of COMMITTMENT OF CHANGE. It started with a food journal, to looking at the foods I eat, to calorie counting, to adding an exercise journal. I have not just a food goal to watch, but a good exercise goal that I make myself accountable for. I'm so happy that I just got my lapband scheduled. I'm ready to not be afraid of the scale and celebrate the journey of change!
  21. You look great! I haven't been banded yet but my date is April 27th. Can you also share with me your exercise routine as well? I usually get on the treadmill and do 1.5 to 2 miles mon thru fri., but obviously you must be doing sit ups and weights. Thank you for any advice, just hoping to look as good as you do!
  22. Thank you so much! My step mom had it done last yr and went to work w/n a week, but wanted to get another person's idea due to every body is different. Thank you for your input and will keep following up w/ you! I've read some of your replys on other discussions and you were very positive!

  23. So how long did you take off from work? Do you have an office position? i was told one week would be ok if you have an office job? thank you

  24. I totally understand what you are going thru. I wasn't going to tell everyone about the band and definately wasn't going to put it on my facebook, but my husband had told my sister n law today and its not what she said, but it was what she didn't say. I could tell that in her mind she is thinking I am making a drastic decision....and so forth. She does not know how it is to struggle for years about weight and then to watch your family get diagnosed with diabetes and heart and know that you are a ticking time bomb if you don't do something now. But I have enough confidence in myself that I know I am doing the right thing. I am making a change for myself and no one else. Its about my qualify of life, not cheating myself from a donut to be a size 10 or something. Its personal. Good luck and stay strong!
