    Howdy I played Pro womens football about 9 months post op, Never had one problem. Played oline would take hits in my stomach, never had any issues..

  5. its a very good idea to have a card and/or a Medical Bracelet.. But Being a paramedic I will tell you being intubated (breathing tube) has ZERO effects on your lapband! the tube sits in your trachea and is no where need your esophagus or your lapband.. Just wanted to share that with you :-) Also Great to carry a card in your wallet with any medications and allergies as well!

    I am serious love this show and its only been on twice.. I think its awesome that they profile people who are hard workers and also have serious shruggles in their lives. Being one of Hardworker that seems to never get noticed its awesome to see other hardworkers get noticed :confused: Anyone watched the show?

    Big runner here... Having done a handful of 5ks, 1 10k and 1 half marathon.. I started with the couch to 5k year and a half ago... If i can do it..anyone can :-)

    Diet Soda Addict

    I was a huge diet mountain dew drinker.. I gave it up before surgery and then found myself slip back into the habit a few months after surgery... I recently gave it up again.. went 2 weeks and slipped again.. Def not drinking as much.. And my rule is not to bring it into my house.. but i am rarely home so that rule isnt all that helpful hehe.. I did notice my band was tighter when i gave it up for the 2 weeks... It stills feels tighter now then before.. My doc knows I drink soda.. But I had also lost some 90lbs my first year.. scared to go back now.. have put on 35lbs :-(
  11. check in ... 245 lb.. so i am down 5lbs.. struggling with my diet.. if i wasn't running some 20 miles a week i am sure i would have gained weight...

Name, real or screen~ Kelsey Age~ 28 Weight on October 1st~ 250 Goal Weight for October 29th~ 235 Exercise Goal for October~ Training for another Half Marathon.. So just keep running.. Dietary Goal for October~ try to stay under 1500 calories... Personal Goal for October~ drink more Water.. Less Diet soda (my Doc knows I drink Soda so dont Say a WORD to me about it) Date Banded~ 03/18/10 Total Weight Loss Since Banding~ had lost 100 gained 30 back :-(

    For me.. Nothing has changed.. I still always think about food.. When am I going to eat next and such... Even being where my band is tigher , i still love food and its a daily battle to not eat when i am not hungry

    Its the nasty stuff ever! Maybe call your lapband doc and ask them.. I take fish oils and other caps just fine..

    Completed my first 5K

    Congrats! Thats awesome.... I think going from a 5k to a full marathon is going to be very rough in less then a year.. I started running in april 10 one mile.. first 5k was in 07/10... 10k in sept 10 ... HALF marathon in Nov 10.. I had a BAD achilles Tendon Strain, and the doctor state i was because of adding too many miles too quick and that I didnt give my body time to adjust to a mileage before moving up.. My advice is just watch yourself.. Dont shot out of the gate too fast and hurt yourself.. Pace yourself and you will get there soon! I am hoping to get to a full marathon too soon..

    Still losing very quickly - no fill?

    I didnt get a fill for like the first 6 months. My surgeon said he wasnt going to give me a fill if i was continuing to lose at a steady pace... I have had 2 fills now (17 months post op)

    Pittsburgh Guy

    Late to the thread.. But Hiya from another Pittsburgher.. Where you having your surgery? I had my at west penn in March of last year.. Was down 95lbs but have put 20lbs back on :-( because of really bad food choices/ankle injury and just other life things... Hoping to lose like 60lbs (that includes the 20 i have to lose again!) I love food too.. I still have to fight with my internal mind that i dont need to eat that.. But it is easier with the band.. I am happy i did it..

    I am a paramedic.. and with being on the run alot i have to eat these types of frozen meals.. I love lean cuisine meals... Love the chicken spring rolls.
