    I need support- im terrified.

Breathe mama. I know that watching that scale go back up after all its done is go down is scary. I got pregnant 8 months after my band and had lost 60+lbs, only to turn around and gain back 58 during my pregnancy. Keep one thing in mind, you did this once, you CAN do it again. Pregnancy should be a time for happiness, being spoiled and fawned over, and just enjoying the experience (minus the gas, the heavy belly, the hormones, the mood swings, etc...LOL) Do not be so hard on yourself and do NOT try to lose weight while you are pregnant. You will be coming up in the next 7 or so weeks where the weight gain is the most crucial for the baby. Induldge in your cravings, but in moderation. Like we were told after surgery, its the moderation that is key. Good luck and I wish you all the best

pain in upper left side abdomen

Are you vomiting or feeling "stuck" a lot? If so it might be your band becoming tighter. To be honest, I would worry more about a possible slip rather then weight gain right now. You got it off once you can do it again I would give your surgeon a call and have some fluid removed. Good luck!
  3. Good luck!! I have heard many women say that after losing the weight getting pregnant was a lot easier. And its really a great motivater to lose those LBS too!

    Pregnant!!!!

I just found out I am pregnant again last Friday!!! Im due October 28th. This is baby #4 for us and band baby #2. We are so excited!! So far Im not feeling too badly, but about 11wks in my last pregnancy I had to get my band unfilled. Im hoping that this time wont be quite as bad (my gall bladder also went bad which I think was part of the problem). Just wanted to share my excitement

    Pregnant!!!!

Think so Erin. I've been feeling a little better, just patiently waiting for the next few weeks to tick by so this morning sickness goes away lol. How are you feeling??
  9. I think Im a little confused here, how far along in your pregnancy are you? it says 2 weeks but thats not even possible since you cant detect the pregnancy hormone until at least 4 weeks (not to call you a liar, but I think Im lost lol) As far as your empty band goes, you must not put yourself in the mind frame "I can eat whatever I want" AND do exactly that, but think more like "I have the ability to eat more of a selection, however I WILL sick to my correct portions and use moderation". Every pregnant mother should be able to enjoy the cravings she has, but regardless of whether you are within a "normal" weight range or someone like us who has had weight loss surgery, you should always remember that to lead a healthy lifestyle food needs to be eaten in moderation. I actually do not agree that you need another fill, because honestly, what if within another month or two you develop the over tightness and sickness again, then you'll be right back where you started and have it emptied again. I recommend talking to your dietician and your ob, they will be a great support for you and your journey to a happy healthy pregnancy. Good luck!
  10. Ugh. This morning sickess can end any time now. Had to have my band loosened. Bring on the 2nd trimester

    preggo question!

I had to have all of my fluid removed on Monday. I was so dehydrated and throwing up bile My stomach still feels swollen and I am still having trouble eating certain things but I would prefer to be able to eat and enjoy this time because its my last baby, and because I got the weight off twice before, I can do it again (original WL, then weight loss after band baby #1)

Pregnant and port out of skin!!!!

So sorry to hear you are going through this, especially when this is a time you should be happy and excited. I think you should also consult your OB on this, as that infection could spread and you dont want to risk that sweet baby. Sending a prayer out for you

    Pregnancy question

You could leave the ginger ale out to flatten. I found that small sips of it (even not flat) seemed to help. It was almost like the carbonation helped settle it.

    Pregnant!!!!

So I ended up in the ER on Monday because my morning sickness was so bad that my band was so unbelieveably restricted. They gave me IV fluids and emptied my band but even after a few days later I am still struggling to eat certain foods. Could my stomach still be swollen from all of the vomiting I know they took it all out because I only had about 4.6 and I watched her take it out. Im just worried there still might be a problem. I know I need to "ease" back into eating, but knowing I could eat a breadstick or two finally really made me want to have them. Hope all you other preggo ladies are doing well. Happy Easter!

    How Soon After Banding

I was banded in Feb 2010 and got pregnant with my son in November of 2010 (with my surgeons blessing. I had lost about 60lbs and my health had improved ten fold with my weight loss). Normally they say about a year, because they want you to be able to get to your goal weight and maintain, and have any other health issues you might have improve/stabilize. So I was about 8 months post op. I am almost 3 years out now and we are hoping to try for our last baby in about a month or two Then this mama can focus on getting some plastic work done

    4 weeks with Band Question

I agree with one of the other posters. It sounds like your band might be a little snug right now. Dont feel stressed or anxious if you have to get some Fluid removed. I had fluid removed when I was 11 weeks pregnant because all of the sudden it felt like my band had a death grip on my stomach. I had gained a little more then anticipated but I got the majority of the weight off within about 4 weeks after having my son. Good luck!
  20. A Protein shake is ok every once in awhile but I would not rely on them for a nutritional suppliment during your pregnancy. Im not sure if your surgeon ever told you but the best type of protein to eat is solid protein. The body absorbs and digests liquid Protein differently then it does a solid protein, so you will not get 100% of the benefits as you should. Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy!!! I wish you a happy and healthy one!

    Stomach Pains Near Port

It is scary but as long as you keep an eye on what and how much you're eating, and when you give into your cravings you do it moderately, you'll be fine
  25. First, I want to send congrats to all of you beautiful ladies who are pregnant, and lots of baby dust to those who are currently TTC!! I havent been around on these boards for awhile, so I'll re-introduce myself. Im Heather, Im 28 and a mom to 3 beautiful kids. My oldest is 10, my middle is 4, and my band baby is now 15 months I was banded back in 2010 and Im still struggling to get close to my goal weight. I've been having some issues losing since after my son was born. Granted, I lost all but about 12lbs of the baby weight in a little over a month, which was great since I gained 52lbs, but I ended up with gall bladder issues at the end of last year and after having it removed, I gained some weight back. Anywho, my post is about me being crazy LOL. My husband and I are talking about the possibility of having a 4th and final baby, and we had set a "goal" date. We have some debts we want to get rid of but my personal goal is to try to get as close as I can to my WL goal as I can by Feb 2013 (our goal). So I am looking at about 25-30lbs to lose by Feb. I had started the Vi Salus shakes about a month ago and I was doing real well then I fell off the wagon and Im trying so hard to get back the inspiration to get back to keep going. My husband is worried that if I get my band tightened anymore I wont be able to eat. But I think I need to get back to my roots and really buckle down like a new bandster. Anywho, just wanted to share and maybe find some buddies who have the same goals as me (whether its 1st baby or 4th!) Have a great weekend!
