  1. Not a food dream, but 3 years ago when I was looking into RNY I dreamed that I was camping with my hubby and our group of buddies (almost all male). I was moving slowly and one of them asked me if I was OK, and I said "Yep, but I did do THIS yesterday!" and yanked my shirt right on up to my neck to show off my day-old scars LOL....

That's funny!! *wondering if that's something that she'd actually do:wink0:* lol

  2. hehehehe. . . i was sleeved for about 1 week when i dreamt the following. . .(now realize i love indian food) . . . i was in india with a little boy (turbin and all) and we were cooking rice, dahl puree, and curry chicken. . . well i had my plate loaded up and here came this guy out of no where and wanted to steal my food. . . well i put down my plate, wholped him with a steel pipe, took my plate in one hand and escaped down a chute, plate held high, but dang it no one was going to steal my curry!

:blushing::lol0::crying: That is just so funny. I bet you never spilt anything off your plate either huh? *snickering*

  3. This is my first weird food dream since being sleeved. Last night in my dream I forgot I was sleeved and was in a rush to go somewhere so I just grabbed two hotdogs (How weird cause I rarely ate them:scared0:) and a diet pepsi and shoved them in my mouth. About 20 mins later I thought " OH MY GOD" I can't eat those, I'm on full liquids!!! Then I thought, my sleeve must not be working right, cause I feel totally fine! lol'ing:lol0:

I woke up in a sweat!!! whew....glad it was just a dream.

  4. Kelly, welcome to the forum! I think many of us started out thinking the band was the way to go until doing all the research. It sure did open my eyes up once I read all the complications and I'm so thankful for forums like this so that we can learn from others experiences. Good luck on your first consult.

  5. How goes life at work now Barb? Your arm doing better? Good to hear things like this with days ups and downs, so I can know what I can expect in the future.

    Rob

Phatmanwalking, in all honesty, most days were good, but every now and then I'll feel a little tired of not so good in between.

Update on the arm. Yesterday was my first day back to work so I used my arm quite a bit. It did swell some (not nearly as bad as before) and it hurt some as well.

Starting today, the doc has me taking aspirin twice daily. And I have to up my Nexium to 2 times a day to protect my tummy from the aspirin.

So we will see how that works. I do beleive that it is getting better, just very slowly.

I was also told to start gently massaging it during the day.

I'm still praying and hoping it goes away soon.

Thanks for asking. Hope you are doing well. :confused1:

  6. Tiff, I just found this thread tonight. I'm so sorry you are having more issues. You've already been throught the mill! But, I have no doubt, you will do fine. You are a fighter and you have such a positive attitude. Thats what will get you through this with flying colors. You will be in my prayers. I'm a firm believer in the power of prayer. Please keep us posted on what is going on and how you are doing.

  7. Brenda,

I have some questions that I hope you can answer. I saw my PCP today and told her about my surgery and going to Mexico. She remained objective but had some concerns. What was your experience with your PCP? With your complications that you have had with clotting, how did the hospital and your PCP react? My PCP's biggest concerns are if I have complications, that no one in KY would touch me and I find that hard to believe and of course there is the concern that the insurance company will not cover anything since I had the surgery done in Mexicali. Her other concern is when she does my follow up bloodwork, what does she do if it comes back abnormal? Can you possibly relay your experience for me? I am all set to send out my deposit but now she has me a little freaked out!

Those were concerns of mine also. The hospital was very good. They cannot turn anyone away when you need help. The ER doc was very interested in where I had been and mentioned that she knew several others who had gone to Mexico for surgeries. I'm not sure how my insurance company will respond to the bills. I'll just have to wait and see.

My Doc was concerned but ok with everything. She ran tests and didn't question my decision at all.

    Hope that helps.
