  1. Brenda, good to hear from you. I was wondering how you are doing. 44 lbs is fantastic. The stalls are to be expected as we all know. It just sucks when that happens. I'm down 43 lbs as of this morning. I am having difficultly getting the water in also. I never do less than 50 oz, but I need to be doing more. Sometimes I just can't seem to get it down. It's not good to be dehydrated. Keep drinking as much as you can and please keep in touch.

  2. Hi Brenda, I'm doing ok. Starting my second week of pre op diet (ugh). How are you doing on your diet? Sounds like you are heading to San Diego early? Are you still scheduled for surgery on Tues the 19th? Looking forward to seeing you there.

  3. I'm doing ok. I'm on my 5th day of pre op diet and it's a little difficult but over all not so bad. I'm down to 228 from 235 so Im hoping my liver will be just fine for surgery.

I'm getting so excited and nervous. How are you doing?

    :)

  4. part 2: I'm 4 weeks out and still dealing with it. They have put me on aspirin daily and hot packs on my arm to try to disolve it. From what I've been told it can last for months. Fortunately I don't think it's very common, and there is no known cause for it. My doc says sometimes they happen from the needle knicking the inside of the vein and others times they just occur fron trama to the veins.

Best wishes to you tomorrow. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers as I know it can be very scary and nerve wracking. Let me know how you are doing.

  5. Rob, email me at barsch57@hotmail.com and I'll forward you my cell #. Would love to meet you and your wife. It doesn't have to be in Monument, it could be in Colorado Springs too. Let me know.

  6. I just felt a lump on my arm above IV area and it kept hurting and didnt go away. Its still real swollen. I sure hope it goes away.

  7. Brenda, I am so looking forward to the up coming changes as well. My hubby is coming with me. I've heard the commisary is very good for meals, so maybe he and your mother can have company with each other as well. I'm so afraid he gets bored for all those days. He is bringing our laptop, so I think that will help. I'm looking forward to meeting you. Where do you live? I'm in Colorado.

  8. Brenda, so good to hear from you and thank you so much for the birthday wish sleeve sister!! Tell your mom hello and I also FEEL like a totally different person. I can't tell you how many people don't recognize me and ask me if I'm related to Barbara (ME) cause I look just like her. I have so many funny stories regarding that. Hope all is well your way.

  9. Christie, I have some dress clothes in sizes 22 - 18 if you are interested in those, I hadn't taken those to Goodwill Yet. I have several dress sweaters, a few skirts with matching tops or jackets. You are more than welcome to them if you would like.

  10. Congratulations on getting your sleeve on the 24th! Are you going to Dr. Aceves. It is a major change, but I have no doubt its going to be a healty one.

  11. DeeDee, Thanks so much for your comment. I think it's normal to have that "what have I done" moment from time to time don't you? Do you still every get those as far out as your are? You have done fantastic and it's fun to read your story and hear your excitement in your posts.

  12. Firefly, thanks so much for thinking of me. My arm seems to be doing much better. It's very frustrating though because there's no way of really knowing unless they do another untra sound and it doesn't sound like they have another lined up. So basically, from what I can tell it appears to be much better. I haven't had any swelling at all for days although there is still one small knot on my arm. Please continue to pray as I really don't know what else to do but that! How are things your way?

  13. Happy Anniversary sleeve sister!!

  14. Hey Brenda, checking in on your to see how things are going? I hope you are doing wonderful. I'm defintely starting to eat more foods a little at a time. I still haven't had much hunger at all. I did have one incident where I tried to eat Ribs and almost lost them back up. Ugh, so I won't try that again for a few weeks. I've decided to only weigh once a week. As of last week I was down 28 lbs. It's slow but steady.

  15. Hey Brenda, I think my arm is getting better. It hasn't been swelling at all, so I'm gonna take that as a good sign. It's hard to tell since a blood clot cannot be seen. I'm still doing the hot compres and hopeing and praying for the best. How are you doing? Have you added any new foods to your diet yet?

  16. Hey Rob, haven't heard from you in a bit. Hope everything is going well for you and things are still on target. Looking forward to meeting you when you are in Colorado. We just had a huge snow storm the last 2 days. It's nuts..for this time of year.

  17. Hey there! So good to hear from you and congrats on your date!!! That's fantastic. You can do it. I'm soooooooooooooooo happy I did it I can't even begin to tell you how it's changed my life. I'm pretty muchs tuck at 149, but thats 86 pounds lost so I'm not conmplaining. I would like to drop another 10 but am ok if I don't. Keepn me posted on how you are doing.

  18. Hi Brenda, I'm doing pretty good so far. I am enjoying some mushy food for a change. The only mushy food I've tried so far is scrambled eggs, cottage cheese and refried beans. This weekend I'll move up to chicken salad, tuna salad and see how I do with it. Have you have any issues with food going down? I find it so hard to beleive we are only allowed to eat 2 ozs per meal, and are not suppose to have snack. :o My arm is still giving me problems unfortunately. Glad you are doing ok.

  19. Hi Brenda, haven't heard from you in a while. How are you doing? Are things still going smoothly for you. I'm doing great and feeling better than I have in many years. I'm down 41 as of the other day. weeehaaaa.

  20. Hi Christie, was reading one of your posts on the board and saw you are from Colorado. I am too. Welcome to the site and best wishes to you on your journey.

  21. Hi DeeDee, Hadn't seen any posts from you lately. Hope everything is going great your way.

  22. Hi PhatmanWalkin, Thanks so much for your comment. I think I am on the mend and all the prayers are so appreciated. I am excited for you and your future journey. I'm sure the wait is hard as I know it was for me, but stay focused. It will be here before you know it.

  23. Hi Rob, I'm doing very well. Weight loss has been very slow but I'm moving in the right direction. I'm down 34lbs. weeehaaaa. Life has changed so much. You won't regret getting this done (well maybe at first you will) but once you get the routine down..it's fantatic. When are you coming to Colo?

  24. Hi Vickey. Welcome to the forums and congratulations on your susrgery date tomorrow. I'm sure you will do just fine. The first week can be a little uncomfortable but for the part everyone sails through it pretty quickly. I'm one of the few who developed a blood clots as result of the IV used during surgery. I don't think it's real common but just one of those things that can happen from surgery. After I was home from having my sleeve I noticed a lump on my arm about 5 inches above the area where they had put my IV. It became very sore and bruised feeling and I ended up in the ER only to discover I had blood clots all the way from my wrist to my elbow.

  25. Hoping everything went well for you.
