  1. Glad everything went good. Be sure and let yourself rest, except do walk some. I just walked up and down my driveway after dark with a pillow pressed against my tummy in my PJs for twenty minutes. I did that for four days, soon my neighbor was walking with me.
  2. You do not have very long to go. It is the 18th right? Don't worry everything will good great. I will be praying for you and your surgeon. Let me know afterwards how you are.

    is it posible?

I would think you could do any light exercise. Walking is really good for you and you can be done in 30 or 45 minutes depending on how far you want to go.

    bummin

A therapist would be good in the long run, but 3 months might be a bit much for this. But hey take advantage of it and work out any problems you have it on their dime. Welcome to the boards, we can learn alot here. I have.

    hello, new to the site..

What is it with those bananas? Also when I went to get my first FILL I found out what I thought was right my port is just under my breastbone in the top center of my chest. The bottom of where my bra hits. Other people's seem to be on the side lower down. I was going to ask him why it was therebut I did not. But will the next I go. Anyones like that?

    hello, new to the site..

On the stuck food. I was eating a small banana and thought I was chewing very good, but was working on computer at the same time. All of a sudden I felt this pain in my chest, it felt like I do when I have a panic attack, but I knew it was not that because I can always feel that coming on. I started to panic and called my husband who was next door (I could still talk) and told him to come home. Meanwhile I started to drink some Water (first reaction) THEN I remember reading on the boards not to drink anything but to cough and I did did and up pop this little piece of banana, still could feel something coughed again and up pop another piece of banana and pain was gone before my husband got here. I guess I did not chew good enough. Now anytime my husband sees me eat now he says are you chewing good? I drank Carnation Instant Breakfast High Protien. I was on liquids for just a week. I also ate chicken broth, took two cans of Chicken noddle and drain the liquid out and threw away the noodles. It is better than using the little cubes, a lot more flavor. Once I got on mushies my Doctor said do not drink protien, that I must eat it. Protien bar instead. I am eating Special K protien bars for breakfast they taste good. Now that I had my first fill I feel no hunger all day and night, which is a big change because before first fill I was hungry all the time, just had to use will power. Hope it stays that way for a while.
  7. Congratulations! I can't wait till I reach my goal. I am just starting out. Keep up the good work!

  12. I miss DC so much but have not had one and plan not to have any cause my Dr. say none at all. In all my diets over the years, I have given up everything but always had my friend DC to get me through the day. I stopped drinking caffeine years ago due to my anxiety and drank Caffeine Free DC for years. The day before my Surgery we were out of CFDC so i made my husband go to Stop & Go and get me 2 20 oz bottles he said you will not drink both of those before 12:00 am. I assured him I would but I did not and when I came home from the hospital there the bottle sat and all week long there it sat. My husband drinks diet coke but will not touch the caffeine free. Thank God that my Grandchild wanted a little coke and she is only 3 so we don't give her caffeine so she drank some of that and we poured the rest out. I MISS my diet coke.
  13. Well it was not bad at all. The Houston traffic was worst. They just weighed me and the I layed down and he checked out my scars. Asked me if I was ready for a fill? I said yes. He said this might pinch for just a minute and then it was done. He said he put 2ccs in and I walked across the hall to the x-ray(?) and he showed me my band and port and then made me drink that stuff and watched it go through the band and then drank some Water and watched. He said come back when you have lost another 15 lbs or call if you have any questions. One day of soft food and then to solids. That was it. Then back in the Houston traffic. It was pretty easy. And funny but my port is not the side but about 2 inches down from my breast bone in the center at the top scar. I knew it was there but people said it would be lower and on the side. Not sure why and I did not ask. So do not let the fills stop you cause it was pretty easy.
  14. Yeah! Someone else not so far away. I love that there are people not too far away makes me feel not so alone in this process. Maybe they should ask for something for pain I hear some people gets something on the skin to numb any pain. I used Dr. Spivak in Houston I am not sure what he does until I go tomorrow for my first fill. Why are you questioning your Surgery? Can I help? I am new only one month out but maybe I can
  15. Drink your last one day before surgery and never look back. I miss my diet coke but I just drink water, water and more water.

Did I do the right thing?

Sometimes I wake up in the morning and and say “Did I really do this or did I dream it” I have to look at scars to believe I really did it. But glad I did
  19. You should of had surgery today. How are you feeling? Did everything go good. Now you have to let your body rest, and rest. Let us know how you are doing

    I'm New here

Hope everything goes through for you smoothly. I am new here too. I was banded July 13, so only a month post-op. If I can help let me know. Welcome I love these message boards!!
  21. An Eleven year old will be a big help. I only had on child a boy so I am so used to boys stuff, he played baseball since T-Ball all the way through 4 years of Varsity during High school. Them . . . came this little cute grandaughter who loves everything pink and so girly, dolls and dresses and bows? Wow what a change! But I love it. I have a 3 year old and a 2½ month old little grandbabies both girls. How do I add you as a friend or something so I can talk to you again sometime. Do you know? I have enjoyed talking to you and would like to keep in touch with you as we go through this process if that is okay with you. Sorry if I have talked you ear off.
  22. Yea, the pillow was great and I read it here too. I have learned alot from these message boards. I have a 3 year old granddaughter and she hated it when I could not pick her up for the 2 weeks. If you don't have small kids it will make it easier. But some of those College books together can weigh alot. I think by the 24th you will be feeling good, just drink plenty so you will feel good. How much are you trying to lose? You do not have to answer if too personal. I am trying to lose 100 lbs total or more. Nobody but my husband and surgeon know how much I weigh. I too am pretty private except on these boards I feel a little free since nobody knows who we are.
  23. Suportive family that will really help you. And if you work I would take about 4 days off if you can. I asked for surgery day and 2 day after that but I really needed surgery day and about 4 days after that. But every night I walked about twenty minutes with my husband after dark. We have a very long driveway and it was dark and I walked in my PJ's with a pillow held against my stomach for twenty minutes. That is when I lost the most 9 lbs in first week with most of it being when I was on liquids. I am one month out now and have lost 17 lbs, but hope it picks up after fill tomorrow. I am a bit nervous about that. Be sure to bring a pillow to the hospital for the ride home cause you can hold it against you tummy in the car and it helps so much.

    Hunger

Thanks I will look for it and try it. When I drank diet coke all the time my mom would tell me your killing you brain. Now no more diet since the band.
  25. I am a lot older than you (48). My son Graduated for Hitchcock in 99. He lives in Hitchcock too but he played Summer Baseball with the Santa Fe boys during high school. I do graphic design and typesetting for Sterling Lighthouse Printing on Delany Road in Hitchcock we do alot of printing for the surrounding area. Is your boyfriend supportive about the surgery? That always helps. I did not tell everyone, but my family and one friend knows about it.
