    question about hunger

I'm right there with you!! I feel the hunger pains in my stomach still, I was soooo disappointed! Every couple of hours it usually starts, I'm hoping it's just because we're not getting enough in yet, and that it will go away soon!!

    down a 100 pounds

Wow, that's great!! What an accomplishment!! I'm was wondering if you could give me some tips on how to lose soooo much weight in such a quick amount of time (I would love to be able to do that). Do you exercise alot? How much water/protein do you get in? Any advice would help, keep up the great work!!!

    Tell me the truth.

I cheated a few times before my surgery, and it wasn't with broth...lol! My doctor also had a very restricted diet, and it was hard for me, so I slipped up a few times. When it came to my surgery, my doctor said my liver looked great, and he had no problems except for having to fix a hernia that I had at the same time. I'm not saying this will be the same for everyone, so be careful what choices you make!! I was terrified that I blew it for surgery, but just got lucky I guess. Yaya, good luck tomorrow!! Keep us posted!
  5. Sounds like your doing great! I can't wait to start eating with the family again, I still got another week on mushies. I get the hiccups too, they can get irritating but now I know how my daughter felt...lol! I do get quite a bit of heartburn too, along with a sick feeling every once in awhile. I hope this all subsides soon, but so far no regrets. I'm also on the scale daily, if not a few times daily...lol, it's addicting!! Glad to hear all is well, talk to you soon!

  6. Well I am only a couple weeks out and the smell of good food is hard to handle, all the commercials, watching everyone around me eat, fast food signs, etc. were killing me in the beginning. The good thing is that I do get full easily, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to finish all my food because it tastes so good. That's why I'm overweight in the first place, so I guess this is where our sleeve stops our insanity along with some good old fashioned will power!! It is hard to make such a huge change, and it will take time for your mind to catch up to your new stomach as far as how much you can safely manage vs. how much we used to be able to shovel in...lol! Your doing great on your liquid diet, what is your surgery date?

    Sex after Surgery?

Yaaaaa, congratulations on setting your sleeve date!! I think you will be fine to go at it by the time your husband's birthday rolls around! I had surgery on 1/5 and my doctor told me that as soon as I felt up to it I could, and I felt up to it a week and a half after surgery. I took it a little easy, so you might not want to get too wild in the beginning...lol!! Another thing my doctor told me is that we are alot more fertile while losing weight so quickly. I thought that was an interesting tid bit since I had never heard that before, so for now I am using two kinds of birth control. I hope this helps, good luck!!

I made it to ONDERLAND!!!! YAY!!!!

Wow, that's great! I know it's hard to always get in all of our water...and exercising always seems to make it to the end of our daily to do list...lol! But you made it to the 100's, that is a great achievement and something to be proud of!! I can't wait til I make it there. Keep up the good work!

    BEFORE MY JOURNEY BEGAN!

  10. angel96049

    I can't take it.....

I had bad dry mouth the first 2 weeks also, and I liked to suck on the sugar free popsicles. It helped me alot, and when I wasn't doing that I had water that I would swish around in my mouth. It also seemed like I brushed my teeth alot to get rid of that feeling, it helped a little. Now that I am getting in more liquids my mouth doesn't seem dry at all. Hopefully this is just a quick post-op phase and you'll be through it in no time! Congratulations on your surgery and your doing great with your weight loss! Yaaaaaaaaa....sleeve sister!!

    Home & Sleeved (1/19)

Yaaaa...you made it! Sounds like your doing great with the walking and sipping! I know it seems neverending in the beginning but it does get easier. My first two weeks were very rough, but now I'm doing great. All the pain, and being uncomfortable will pass. The liquid vicodin was nasty!! I told my doctor that I would like some regular vicodin crushed rather than the liquid, it made me gag just trying to get it down. Just keep taking in as much liquid as you can, because you really don't want to get dehydrated at this point, and soon you will be able to get in the 64oz. It is still hard for me to get that much in everyday and try to get in my protein. All we can do is try, and hope we improve...right? Best of luck to you, it sounds like your doing great though!

    Week out

I had my surgery on the 5th of January 2010 and my cravings post-op got so bad that I actually chewed up a cheese puff then spit it out! It did help, and I didn't go down hill from there, it just satisfied that craving of something tasty, and just to be able to chew on something helped ALOT, even if I did spit it out. I no longer crave any of that stuff and can't wait to eat a salad!! At the time of weakness though I feel like if you don't go for it, it will haunt you...lol! We do all have different cravings and weakness', so it is really up to you on how well you can handle yourself! My pre-op diet was very rough, and now I have 2 weeks thin liquids, 2 weeks regular liquids, then 2 weeks of mushies!! I just needed to taste something other than broth and protein shakes!!! We will all conquer our head hunger sooner or later, but it is harder for some! Give yourself a break, and if you do splurge just don't lose track of your long term goals!! Best of luck to you!! Your doing great!
  13. Wow, your doing great! Finally being able to lose weight is soooo exciting, especially after a lifetime of difficulty! I am doing ok, I seem to get alot of heartburn, what about you? I get everything down fine, I just get a tummy ache every once in awhile. Keep up the great work, how are you doing with working out? Talk to you soon!

    I am sleeved!!!!

Yaaaa...you did it!! Take care of yourself! You will be up and on your journey sooner than you know it! I hope you have a quick and speedy recovery, and keep us posted!!

    Another Step Closer

I been there!! It's hard to not think about something all the time that you want sooo badly. My whole family got so tired of hearing about it, but I didn't care I would just ramble on to whoever would listen...lol! As far as the pre-op diet, your doctor will let you know what specific diet they will want you on, maybe if you ask them ahead of time you could prepare a little easier! I always like to be prepared myself. Now for my pre-op diet my doctor was very strict, No carbs, No fat, No sugar...it was rough! The only thing I ended up drinking was Isopure that I bought at a local Rite-Aid. All of the other mixed powder proteins made me gag, the Isopure was clear and went down easy. I wish you all the best on your journey...your almost there!!
  16. I also have this obsession with checking the scale everyday! I have to quit because it's driving me nuts...lol!!!

  17. angel96049

OMG - my VSG is this morning!!

Wow, you go girl! You are a very strong person to be able to be on a liquid diet for so long! I have no doubt that you will do great with your new sleeve. I wish you all the best and can't wait to here more about your journey! I wish you all the best!
  18. How have you been doing? Are you ready to get back to school? I am still on full liquids...blah!! How did it go with mushies for you? Just wanted to say thanks for all your help through the rough patches!! A true sleeve sister indeed!!!

  19. I can't even eat mashed potatoes yet!! I guess I don't want to either after your experience! I had a hernia and a UTI at the same time of my surgery! He operated on the hernia at the same time, and shot me full of antibiotics to get rid of the UTI. The first couple days I was really nauseus, weak, and dehydrated. I couldn't get much down, but now things are running smooth! I have lost 14 pounds since surgery...what about you? I already went for my post-op appt., he said everything is going great!...Yaaaaaa, we made it to the losers bench!!!

  20. Just wanted to see how you were doing? I made it! At times it got a little rough, but I am doing much better now! I have noticed that all the liquid diets are quite difficult when it comes to cooking for your family, and watching all of them grub, but I will be able to join them soon enough. I hope things are still going smooth for you and you are having a speedy recovery!

  21. I know this diet is supposed to be whats best for us and our surgery, but I really feel like crap and it's been 11 days! I feel malnutritioned, and far more unhealthy then when I was eating salads. This diet is so strict it is ridiculous and a little uncalled for I believe...especially after hearing what all your pre-op diets consist of! I just wanted to share my diet and what I'm going through: Things I can eat: V-8 Juice Cream of wheat Sugar free pudding/jello Light n' fit yogurt Unsweetened applesauce Fat free cottage cheese Fat free milk Raw vegetables Things I can't eat: No fat No meat No fruit No fish No poultry No beans No cheese No sugar No nuts No oil No avocados No corn No eggs No pasta No cream I'm starving!!! I am soooo tired of cottage cheese, I cannot eat another bite! And although the raw vegetables are pretty much what I'm living off of at this time (besides protein drinks), they are not filling, and not near as good without dip:blush:! I feel weak, unhealthy and just crappy all around....
  22. Well my weight problem has been a long and hard journey so it is exciting to think of all the possibilities with this surgery! I am ready to leave all the neagativity that came with obesity and finally make it over to the losers bench! My surgery is tomorrow but I will be leaving today because I have a long way to drive! I am so excited, scared, and nervous...but overall happy to have made it this far!! When I started this journey, I never thought that it would actually happen, knowone believed in me, or supported me (I think they thought that I was bluffing). I did it though...I made it!!! I proved to everyone that I was serious, and I hope to someday soon become an inspiration to them to lose weight and to start living a healthier life!! I just want to thank you all for being there, listening, helping, for sharing stories and information. You were the support that I needed when I wasn't able to get it elsewere, and I don't know if I would have made it this far without all of you!! See you on the losers bench...sleeve sisters!!!
  23. I just wanted to wish you luck tomorrow!! I wish you all the best and I can't wait to hear how things went for you. Take care of yourself, and keep me posted...I'll be thinking bout ya!
