    I am using MFP a lot these days a lot now. Great app. I am eating less than 800 daily calories as a goal at 1 month post op. Am I on track? Do I use the calorie burned exercise credits if I am hungry or just ignore them and stay less than 800 no matter what. I do miss loosing the one pound a day this week. Thanks

    I had a macho coworker tell me how brave he thought I was for having surgery. Said he could never do it. It was the best compliment I have received in a long time. This is our time.

  6. A great pair of designer faded jeans ... Not the old guy kind or casual male brand. I am only 46. a new swimming suit that I can walk around on the beach without a t shirt on. If we are getting some sun, I can stand up from my beach chair without immediately getting self conscious of others. Actually I know I won't be "perfect" at goal unless I get plastic surgery, but to be comfortable in my own skin again is exciting to look forward to.

    My Biggest Fear

    Your thread really hits home with me. I am one month post op. I have a fear of gaining in the end or that I will miss that opportunity to loose all I can in the beginning. Sometimes I just have a general fear of failing. Argh! At times like this I just have to shake it off, get active, go for a walk or workout. I am the co-captain of this ship. I am alert, smart and ready to fight for a better life. I have to ignore those old negative tapes. If I start listening again and realize it.... Forgive myself and move on. Finally as a man of faith, I know God is in charge and wants the best for me. I surrender what I need to and trust Him. You are worth it my friend! With u on the journey. Time for a walk now....

    Everything I have tried has gone down fine. It kind of scares me at times. I am hungry in two hours after a premier protien rtd shake. So I have plan and space my day out.
  9. Whatever I decide to do with my food and activity choices has to be substainable over the long run. The first year, six months is a gift. I don't want to be injured and then be unable to workout. I hope to choose well each day, and quick to forgive if I mess up. I think one month out now I am feeling better and time to kick it up a notch. Thanks for the reminder.

    Following surgery, patients will need to follow a liquid diet for about two weeks while the body heals. The diet will slowly progress from soft to solid foods. At about 4 to 6 weeks after surgery, most patients will usually be able to eat a regular solid diet. During the first 1 to 2 years after surgery, when most weight loss is expected to occur, the diet is limited to 600 to 800 calories a day. Once goal weight is achieved, most patients are able to eat about 1000 to 1200 calories a day. WLSHelp.com

    Great replies, so glad you guys are in my life. Did some online research on my phone on found 600 to 800 calories with 60 grams of protien when in weight loss mode on solid food on medical websites. If I eat less than 800 my energy starts to go. I think I can can make good choices with 800. Don't want to eat something only because it is really lo cal if I don't like the taste. On MFP I am chad2rad, too.

    Ricotta Cheese Bake

  17. I met with my surgeon today and told him my weight loss a has slowed down this week. After a larger 25 lbs loss I think at week 3/4 this is okay. He told me me I should only eat 2 and at the most 3 times a day and nothing in between. Seemed to radical to me, not sure I want to do that. I understand grazing is bad. But geez. What are your thoughts. I am hungry or eating something every couple hrs now. I want to fuel my metabolism and exercise. I am walking.
