  1. Hello all april bandsters!!! I have gone back to work and have not been keeping up. Said I would, but it's been harder than I thought. I went for my post op 5/12 and have lost 12 since surgery. That was surprising. I go for my first fill 6/8. Dr. said it would be 5cc's. I have been reading some of your posts, and that seems high compared to others. wow. I have been good with the food part. Don't know if I can eat a whole "meal", haven't tried. I have stuck to the soups, protein shakes, sf jello/pudding and sf popsicles. Found some new sf philly swirls that are awesome. Keeps the calorie intake down and me satisfied. Good luck to you all. B-lo
  2. Hi Sissy, I am the 22nd. This is great, everyone in one place. b-lo
  3. Hi,been a few days,I am doing well. Still sore, but getting around real good. Went to Wal-mart yesterday. Got out of the house. Been walking around outside and visiting with the dogs. They don't understand when they don't see me for a day or two.

So, I hope everyone else is doing good too. Making my plans to go back to work after a 3 month loa. Will be looking into daily eating plans because I travel and live in a hotel for 10 day stretches. For the past 12 years I have eaten in every restaurant you can imagine and all the wrong things. This next part of my life is going to be very interesting. My work partners will have to get used to it. Boss especially. He will not understand. Oh well, didn't do it for him. I am trying to figure out how to do the ticker, so hopefully my progress will be on here someday. I lost 14 during the 2 week pre-op. Go back May 12 for first fill and check up. I will do my best as I travel to keep up with this support group.

    Banded!!!

Got banded 4/22. Been away from the computer for a few days. Did well. Was home by 4pm the same day. Healing good, sore at the largest incision, but trying to keep moving around. It's hard to not lift things that you are used to just doing without thinking. Getting ready to go back to work too, so have to pack so I can get it in and out of the car and into the hotels without killing my belly. Looking forward to more action during the day. Not the driving tho'. Going to miss being home with the dogs and seeing my Sonny every day. Oh well. I have a 5 year plan. Gonna get working on that plan right now. b-lo

    I'm new

I appreciate the feed back. I am better now. I have had a bit of a problem with my sugar dropping, diabetic, so that has been interesting. I have a small amount of peanut butter in a protein shake when it is low. I am getting close now. Got my time yesterday. I will go in at 9am and be out by 4pm or so on Wed. Yeaaay!!! I didn't want to stay overnight. Did you have any problems with get togethers with friends and them feeling guilty about you not eating like you used to, and they just pork out in front of you? My daughter is doing that. She understands, but feels bad. I grilled for them last Sunday and I drank a shake. She felt awful. We also have friends coming over and I found myself asking them if they would be ok knowing I would not be able to eat. They said sure. We will see. This is going to be a journey for sure. I travel for work, so I won't be eating out for a while with the "gang". I am deciding my menus now so I will be prepared in my hotel room. Take care..b-lo
  7. I am so glad you asked this question. I have had the same problem during this pre-op diet. Afraid I would screw up after the band. I like the idea of just not having the drink near me while I eat. Good idea!!! Too easy. I would rather not experience the pain. Thanks everyone that replied. B-lo
  8. I just want to thank you for the uplifting message. So glad you shared and congrats. These kind of msgs are why I decided to sign up here. Continued success!!!

    I'm new

Thanks Jenny!! I have a question, maybe others who read this may have some answers also. During the pre-op stage, did you "fall off the wagon" at all and did it hurt anything? Curious as to whether I have "issues" with wishing I could eat something that I shouldn't. I hate the tv. All they do is promote food. I have been real good for just over a week and only have 6 days to go before the surgery. Man.... I am also reading on here that there is no fill at the start. I don't remember that part. I know there is 2 weeks of clear liquids, and 2 weeks of pureed/mushie food. I guess I expect that to start the ball rolling. Am I wrong to think that way? Thanks, Brenda

    One week to go

One week from today I will be banded. On the 2 week pre-op diet and doing ok since Sunday. Up til then I was ravenous. I have lost 10 pounds this past week. I know it is mostly water, but it is a start. Makes me feel good to know it can go away. I am very satisfied with my choice of Doctor. The people at this bariatric center are just awesome.

    Tampa Doctor?

Dr. Tiffany Jessee in Tampa. The staff is awesome and Dr. Jessee is great. I spoke to several other offices and this one was the best.
