    Huge disapointment

Judy this must be so difficult. I am so sorry. You know having your blood pressure under control is going to make you feel so much better and be stronger for surgery though. You had a huge extra risk factor there. Honestly, be glad it was found before and you will take medicine, get rechecked, and get a safe surgery date. Keep us updated! I want to know how the medicine goes.

2nd follow up done now I have questions...

Just an update. Going off prilosec was a disaster! I got more in a hurry. However I have been screwing off and forgetting to take it twice a day for the last week with no problems so I am going to go to once a day and see how it goes. Stand up for yourself. If you know something is not going to work then don't take no for an answer. Something like prilosec takes a few days to kick back in and I was miserable for a week. Weaning and then waiting for it to kick back in. I am not lactose intollerant and warm milk really helped calm my stomach. I would not try this though if you are showing signs of lactose intollerance after surgery. Oh and I get to see the one person "team" soon. Who knows what this appointment has in store for me!!! I will try to make it my last if I can. I feel like my new stomach and I can take care of ourselves. We just need my PCP now.

Emarrassing gas problem on a regular basis

Well I had this problem when I first started taking fiber. It calmed down though. So I can't be of any help! Helpful I know. I am sorry you are going through this.

    problem

Whoa! This individual does not respect, support, or love you. It is that simple. You are an adult woman and have a right to make your own medical decisions. He had no right to throw the application away. Lost him. You deserve to be treated with respect. You are worth it! You can do this without his "support". I promise.

    4thday post operative

Umm wow! Your stomach in a jar. I find that cool! I wish they would have recorded my surgery. I would have watched it. I am glad you seem to be doing well. Sip Sip!

    Whatcha' Eating?

I need to get posting in this thread again. I will try tomorrow. My new favorite thing is ham rollups. I mix some light cream cheese (i like the whipped), spinich, chopped artichokes together. I spread some inside ham slices and roll them up. I pop 2-3 in a ziplock bag and lunch is done!

Fluids and Fiber - TMI story but important

I wanted to give a quick update to let all know reading later that this is / was resolving. As long as I am good about my Fiber and Fluid intake I am fine. If I am bad things can get clogged up but I have not had anything like the initial episode happen again. I am healing well from the intial episode also. Again this was almost all my fault. I was being bad about getting the proper amount of fluids each day. Screwing off with your fluids is the biggest cause of non mechanical (like a leak) problems I suspect.

    Question to you all

I have had some minor complications, if you could even call them that. Mostly just my body and I learning to get along again in a different nutritional enviroment. I would do it 100 times again. Honestly.
  9. I got the same thing for the first few days of regular solids. I assume you are not running a fever.

    when do others notice?

I thought of the board and this post after something that happened this morning. I have had a family member in the hospital so I look like death warmed over this morning. My hair was a mess, makeup smeared, huge bags under my eyes from no sleep and even less food. What a mess I was earlier. Anyway I was in my neighborhood and decided to get a Viviano for the Protein. The same guy that picked up on me above saw me again. He said "Why do you always walk past me but won't say hi girl?". I was like huh? :thumbup1: He said "I see you in the mornings often and have tried to talk to you but you just keep walking. I just want to know your name." I was shocked. I just muttered thanks but I am married and went to my car. Ahh how nice to have admirers again. It has been so long :biggrin0:.

    delicate subject

Hi patton Check out this video: YouTube - dasajam's Channel She talks about these fears and what she got to help her with after surgery care for higher BMI individuals. In later videos she said it worked perfect. Her whole series is a must watch.

Love my VSG 15 months after!

I love these posts. They keep me up when I feel like I am not losing fast enough or just generally being a screw up. Thanks so much for sharing.

    unusual question

Just as a quick note so no one feels left out if they can't eat tuna, neither can I. Tuna and I don't mix right now. We used to be friends before surgery but I have been informed by my stomach we will not be eating tuna fish any longer. I will try again in 3 months or so. I can eat other fish like salmon and mahi though so don't give up on all fish if one does not agree with you. Oh I ate some baby food but I just pureed everything in my bullet. That was easier and I knew what was in it.

When is it ok to start drinking coffee?

As for coffee. I used to drink decaff. I kicked the caffine habit and did not want it back. I have given it up now. The acid is too much for my stomach. That is just me. As for eating: I drink breakfast because I am still not meeting Protein goals. So drinking it helps. When I eat I am full for 4-6 hours. This does not help with meeting protein goals. I have never had a bad stuck issue. Only when I eat too fast. Never had the band so I don't know if it is the same or not. I do now it does not vary one day to the next. Bread will not work today just like it did not work yesterday.

    Tattoo's??

I have one on my left butt cheek kind of high, like right next to the top of the crack (sorry don't know how else to describe it. I got it when I was about the weight I am now. It stretched and didn't look bad as I gained. It looks like the day I got it now. I wonder too what it will look like when I get to my goal weight.

    Hey...another newbie here!

That is great Jeff. You know the pissy moods are a part of giving up an addiction. It will get better I promise. Don't take it out on poor mom!

Where I've been and whats been goin' on

I am glad you are ok. That could have been worse had it flipped up through the windshield. I am glad it didn't and you were not in a short car. I love wild animals but not dodging them. I rolled a 4-Runner I owned on it's side years ago dodging a moose. I sort of rolled over into a snow puff so it didn't damage my car at all, just my nerves.

    when do others notice?

I don't think I am more social but I like not feeling like I am the fattest person in the room or that everyone is staring at me. I never thought this surgery would effect me in so many ways and never dreamed it would change the dynamics in my marriage. It has though. We are kind of going through a sudden rough patch. The reasons are many but it all relates in someway back to surgery. It is one of the reasons i have not been around much. Anway I am not going to air it on the board but it does have far reaching impacts even a careful planner didn't see coming. It is all good though. I love the new me. I wouldn't trade her for anything.

    when do others notice?

Tiffy you were a knockout before surgery. John is going to be continuing to beat them off with a stick. In fact he might need to buy a bigger one.

Do you consume more calories than you think?

I don't have an iphone either but I do have an iTouch. I use a program called Lose It. Simple, quick, will track Protein easily. I love it.

    Concerned

I was thinking about Netty on Sunday. Wondering how she was. I think it is hard for people with complications to come sometimes because everyone else is doing good. They feel alone. :drool5:
  23. WOW! I was just wondering yesterday when we would see new pics.

    Whatcha' Eating?

I am jealous Susan. I can't eat bread in any form and banana's........lets just they are known to clog up the works so I steer way clear. 10/19 Breakfast: Homemade shake made with Protein powder and 6oz non fat milk. Took me two hours to drink it but 30 grams protein. Lunch: Refried Beans mixed with blackbeans, with some melted cheese and a dollop of sour cream. 4 or 5 oz I ate it over an hour. Beans and I are becoming fast friends. Dinner: Fighting with husband for 4th day in a row so I was upset. I just drank a protein shot for 23 grams protein and went to bed.
