  1. Hi Dolllady - I had my surgery April 24th of this year. So far I have lost 40 lbs. I am feeling much healthier and active for sure. When I began I weighed 278.9. It has been a learning experience for me. I did a ton of prep work, reading books, blogs, websites, watching videos, messaging people and meeting people in real life who had the band. All of which I am glad I did, but nothing compares to first hand experience. The process is slower than I had thought it would be, and sometimes that is hard to wrap my head around. When I think like that I pull myself back with gratitude. That seems to work. Having this band has changed my life and my view on food. I am a foodie so I struggle from time to time with what foods I am eating and benging.

I hope I answered your question. Ha! Feel free to ask me any questions you may have and I will do my best to answer.

    Are you having the surgery?

  2. Ling Ling! Hey girl I am doing pretty good. Working on myself, eating habits and getting up and moving. I've been loosing, so far I've dropped 40 lbs! I've had 4 fills so I am up to 2 cc's in a 4 cc band. Going in for another fill in December. Really I have been on the fence about getting this fill. But the scale is not moving. Need to figure out what I am doing before the end of the month!

I hope you check in more, we all have missed you. How's band life treating you....catch me up woman!

  3. I am so jazzed you have been able to stay steady on your weight! You should feel really good about that! I am sure when you go back in your stomach will be a-ok and you will feel so much better. It's a fine balance, this band. I'll be thinking of you and YOU ARE DOING GREAT!

  4. Hey - how did you band look....have you gone back yet?

  5. I am doing pretty good. I lost under a pound this week, but I've eaten out 1 meal a day all week. That pulls you down when it comes to loosing weight. At least I made semi healthy choices. I say semi cuz I am eating a cookie as I type this. When does the Doc check your band next?

  6. I wanted to drop in and see how you are doing. Did you make it on your liquid diet.....Mainly I wanted you to know I am thinking about you.

  7. My band is a small size. It will hold 4 cc's total. Actually it will hold a bit more than four with the tubing and port. There are some advantages to having a smaller band just as there are advantages to having a larger capacity one as well.

Dare it is hard to see other people melt away, not that I begrudge them their weight loss, I would like to be right them along side of them. Really I thought I would be too! When I was a few months out, I thought, oh boy! What is wrong.

When I look at the big picture, I feel gratful and can see a big success. Just as long as I am not compairing myself.

I have lost 35 lbs! Now come on girl, let me tell it like it is....with out the band, those lbs would have had a home forever! My son is 22 months now and it felt so good to say I had lost my baby weight! Woo hoo!

Stay focused you are doing fantastic!

  8. Welcome to the forum. I wanted to stop by and say hello!

  9. I second that! Here is to our health!

    Stopping by to say hello!

  10. Hey there fellow April Bunny! Thanks for the sweet comments on my blog.

  11. Thanks for your comments. I am so happy with the weight I have lost and my journey began the end (ish) of April. I can't wait to see what the future has in store!

  12. Sooverit - I was happy to read the few days on liquids helped you. Glad your band loosened up! YAY! Boo to the 5 lbs. It may very well have been bacause your body felt deprived from being tight and the liquids.....

  13. Hey there fellow Bunny! Thought I would drop by to say Happy Friday!

  14. LingLing - come out come out where ever you are! Hey girl! What have you been up to these days!?

  15. Hey fellow April Bunny!

    Happy Friday!

  16. Hi ethiomom! I am dropping by to wish you a great and blessed Friday!

  17. Hi Tyler - I was reading your posts on the "you might be a banster if..." and thought you are a funny guy.

I'd like to add you to my friends list.

  18. BG - I appreciate your kind message! This time is hard, but we can get through it! At least we have the band now to help us! Let's hope we both get the sought after restriction! Keep on keeping on!

  19. JayTee - I can't thank your enough for your words of support and understanding. This is a hard time, and I am doing my best to be honest and not get to depressed! Ugh! Your the best!

  20. KMCD - I don't think the clear liquids will give you much trouble at all. I think your tummy will be so swollen, that you will find drinking slow sips to be at best the most you can handle! I am not nervous at all......yet.....I am waiting for the nerves to kick in. Everyone here in Mexico is great, they are falling all over themselves to take care of us. So much so at times that it is a bit over the top.

Your surgery will go great! Talk to you soon!!!! Yay us!
