    PreOp and in progress...

    Surgery date October 15, 2009.
  4. Hello Everyone, I can relate to many of the things you guys are going through. However, I am really, really glad I did this. It was the best investment ever. I was banded on 10/14 and so far I have lost 33.5 pounds. Gained 3 over the holidays, but they are gone now. My surgeon just gave me my 3rd fill. I am at 5cc on my 10cc band. This might be my sweet spot, as I get full with one bowl of Cereal or 2 scrambled eggs. I am now 191 pounds and can't wait to get out of the 190's for good. My best wishes to all of you and stay motivated. It really helps me (when I'm feeling lazy) to look at people's pictures on this site... Take care everyone! Nora
  5. I'm glad you posted this, because I was thinking to myself this morning, how is it that it takes me a week to lose a pound, but yet I gained 3 in 4 days!!!!? It is very frustrating. However, just like you, I need to get back on track this week and get rid of them. I will have my second fill on January 24. That should help. Good luck to you and I am glad that you were able to lose it so quickly. Nora
  6. Hi Terri, I hope you are feeling better. My first 5-7 days were horrible!!! I WAS wondering what the hell had I done. The nausea and pain were beyond what I had expected. However, after the first week everything started to feel better. Hang in there, after you pass these first couple of weeks you will feel great! Follow your Dr.'s advice and take care of yourself. Good luck!
  7. Hi Sizanne, It has been a while... I just wanted to say hi and wish you a great Holidays! How are you doing?

  8. Hi everyone! I was banded on 10/14. I have lost 27 pounds so far. Looking forward to that 30 pound mark. got my first fill 2 weeks ago. No I feel more restricted. I am scheduled for a 2nd fill in January. So far, I am losing about 1.5 pounds per week. That is exactly what I expected, so anything over that is a bonus. Still have 47 pounds to go. Although last week I reached the under 200 mark!!! That was so great! The hardest part is going out at night and not eating. I get really hungry at night. Other than that, I love the band. Happy Holidays to All!!!
  9. Thanks Suzzane! You seem very determined, I know you will los-e those extra 10-15 as soon as you are able. GOOD LUCK with your surgery on Tuesday. We will stay in touch.

  10. Thanks. I'm at my doctor's goal weight for me, but I would love to be 10-15 pounds lighter. I'm hoping next year, after I get my foot fixed and can run again, maybe I'll get there. I'm having surgery this Tuesday, the 17th. I have found that running is the ONLY exercise that reshapes my body, including my stomach. As soon as I stopped running my stomach poofed back out. I did the Couch to 5K twice now, I LOVE that program. It takes a 100% NON-runner and gets you running a 5k in 9 weeks. There are a couple of podcasts out there to help you through it. I'm going to start it again after the first.

You should feel a little better after your fill. You're entering bandster hell. It's short lived, don't worry. If you have a good doctor who keeps up with your fills, you'll do great. It's all in the aftercare with the band.

Keep up the good work and keep in touch. I love to hear about your progress!

    List of October Bansters

Banded on 10/14/09. So far so good... happy with my band!
  13. Thank you Suzanne! I started at 224-225, and I am 5'2". Just a little shorter... Right now the only downside is that I haven't had an fill and I am starting to get hungry. My Dr. told me to eat a protein bar when I get hungry. That seems to be working. But I get hungry at night. Other than that, everything is going great! My first fill will be on Dec. 4.

Are you at your goal weight already? You look great!

  14. Your pics look great! You can already see a difference. This time next year, you won't even recognize yourself.

I noticed you started at my same weight and are so far on track with me. How tall are you? I'm 5'4.5".

  15. Hi Laura~ You're welcome. It is nice to see how well you are doing. I had surgery on 10/14. So far I've lost 18.5 pounds. I'm still adjusting to all the changes, but feeling great! Thanks for asking. I posted an album yesterday. At least 2 before pics and one picture of me that my son took yesterday. Hey take care and keep posting them! It is so motivating to see others do well.... Talk to you soon.
