Hope I can wrap my head around this!

@@MandiMand You asked the question "WHAT IS GOING ON?!" I don't blame you for being frustrated with your loss of 15 pounds over the 3 years you've been banded. I've been frustrated myself when my band wasn't doing what I needed it to do. I'll just state the obvious...you're eating too much compared to your daily caloric output to lose weight. Please don't take that as an insult. I ATE TOO MUCH AS WELL, that's why I needed surgery. As did most all of us on these forums. Just a fact Why is the real question, and one that you and your surgeon can/should have a serious discussion about. Is your band adjusted correctly for you? I'm a big fan of fluoroscopy adjustments. It can show your restriction level, correct band placement, and more. For me, a correctly adjusted band was the most important part of this whole process. Because it makes me eat less in the long run. You said your doctor asked you to keep a food log starting back in October. What does it show? Net calories, etc? I'm guessing he/she wanted to compare your log with your weight loss to see if there's something else going on. You mention "endocrine" issues? Best wishes!

Your Favorite things- fitness/ exercise related

My Garmin (310xt) with HRM is probably the best money I've ever spent. Keeps track of everything! Bluetooth headphones to cycle/run most times...the behind the head spring ones that will not fall out. I order them online (ebay) for about $10 bucks per pair....use them a couple months then toss them....at a fraction of the costs of my "good" ones. I like Newton running shoes...they work well for me. But each person should really go get evaluated for what would be best for them....by someone who knows what they are talking about. Music....gotta have tunes! I use Pandora. Also, I use a website called Steadymixes.com to download some really cool running mixes. Fast paced 130 bpm or so. AND ITS FREE!

    WLS Revisions?

There are lots of people who've had "Band over Bypass" and "Band over Sleeve"....AND vice versa... so listen to the medical professionals. There are several people who are active on here who got plication when they had their bands placed, and have done fantastic! Some haven't even needed to adjust (fill) thier band post op....for years. I haven't heard of anyone going to plication after bypass, but I'm sure your surgeon wouldn't be suggesting it without some EXPERT knowledge of its success rates. And welcome to the forum! I think you'll find most people here non-judgemental about your regaining and seeking more help via a revision. We all needed help to control our eating....some are so quick to forget that. I wish you much success in whatever you and your surgeon decide is best for you!

Rash on abdomen after 1st fill

Possibly an allergic reaction to the cleaning solution they used prior to accessing the port? Ever had a reaction when giving blood/etc before?

Cramp like pain in my left side

Theres no way for anyone to know for sure whether you "screwed something up" over the computer. My suggestion would be to call your surgeon, either now or in the morning depending on how YOU feel, and see what he/she says. Hopefully, its just sore and everything will be fine. Best wishes!

    Band fill?

Welcome to bandster hell! MOST...but not all, of us have been through it. I felt those exact same feelings over 5 years ago myself. But in reality, its just a very short time in the rest of your life. It's not uncommon at all to hear of people GAINING weight during this phase. You've probably been on mostly/all liquids for a few weeks and now you may start introducing solids back into your life. Don't worry about "ruining" this. Just do the best you can portion wise, eat only the TYPES of food on your surgeon's plan and allow yourself time to heal fully. Once your surgeon decides to start adjusting your band, then you'll feel what IT can do. And it may take several adjustments to get you to that "green zone" you'll hear some many describe. Hang tough....it gets MUCH better!
  17. Registered for the Alton, IL Half Marathon again next year on March 21st 2015. I ran this one this past March as my first HM, and would love to be able to sneak in under 2:00 this time. I'm also planning on running the St. Louis Rock N Roll Marathon in Oct of 2015. That'll be my first full...YIKES!

    Checking in...

Glad to see that things are going well for you Terry! Congrats!
  19. Maybe try spinning (cycling) or the elliptical for getting your endurance back up to where you want it. Get your HR at the low end of your target range and gradually work it up over a month or so. This may help with the leg pain, while building your endurance back up. As far as pre workout drinks, there are so many different ones....with different goals. I'd suggest talking to someone at a GNC/Supplement Superstore type place and let them know what you're looking for. They should have lots of suggestions... Carbs, etc... Just my $.02, Good luck!

    Banders Exercise

I broke down and put my bike in the trainer in the den today. I was really wanting to ride outside today but I could see my breath. Watched the lunacy in Ferguson while spinning my wheels. .... How ironic.

    Anyone use protein shots?

I'm 5+ years post op and I use New Whey Liquid Protein shots at times. 42 grams in 3 ounces. They aren't fantastic tasting but who cares. ... It's 3 ounces. Hold your nose and "enjoy"!

    Banders Exercise

Great job and glad to see some new and familar faces on here. And my Tar Heel fav! (Has anybody besides me noticed how UK is this year...ha!) I'm finally back to my "normal" schedule after 9 weeks of 72-75 hours per week. Spent a much needed week on vacation two weeks ago in New Orleans/Mexico. Was a great time! One of those all you can stand to drink packages...and I got my $$$ worth let me tell ya! Decided a nice slow long run would be fun today in a breezy, 39*F weather. First longer run in a while and it felt good! Happy Monday all! http://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/639221800
