  1. Hey there, all is well. It's just hectic, and I'm pregnant again so the 1st trimester exhaustion has hit me hard ! ! !

  2. Hey there, thanks for the sweet comment. . . Life has just been hectic, and I took a break from here for a bit. Hope you are doing great!

  3. Thanks so very much ! ! !

  4. I'll send her your profile link ! ! ! Thanks so much <3

  5. I have a friend who is stationed in the UK, and I was wondering if you were anywhere Lakenheath AFB??? She's having her surgery in London, but is really looking for fellow VSG'ers in England. Just checking

  6. They need to submit the referral to the surgery department for a bariatric consult, just have them call Tricare directly to submit it to the appropriate MTF.

  7. Full fat foods all the way! When eating low carb, our bodies need fat, I ate healthy fats and 93% lean ground beef but full fat cheese and peanut butter were go tos.

  8. Copy that link into your browser. It's a study for VSG and RNY resolution of diabetes. Also, on the left hand side of the page, there are other studies for your review. Make sure you look up Reactive Hypoglycemia with RNY which is extremely common with RNY patients with diabetes.

  9. The forum is not working properly this morning, here is my reply to you regarding VSG and Diabetes: http://www.springerlink.com/content/f135104x27461498

  10. I am allowed to stay on my Celebrate chewable multivitamins, and do not have to take pre-natals because the Celebrate have more folic acid and iron than some prenatals. My labs have remained outstanding during my entire time post-op & in pregnancy. Just make sure the prenatal has iron and folic acid. Take a sublingual b12 as well.

  11. Thanks so much Maddie ! ! ! It's been very surreal to say the least. . .

  12. Thank you sooooooooooooooooo much ! ! We're getting excited.

  13. Hey chickee. . . Doing great. Due November 4th, and feeling really good. Not having any issues, waiting for the spina bifida screening to come back, have the gender determination U/S on Friday.

  14. Awwwwwwwwwww thanks so much ! ! !

  15. Thanks so very much ! ! ! I feel really fab except for the exhaustion. But, other than that, I feel great. Just plugging along, bloated and retaining water like the Hoover Dam, but it's all good.

  16. How much weight you lose with VSG is up to you, just like it is with RNY? I know plenty of RNY patients that never get to goal, or have major regain. Any of the WLS surgeries can see regain.

I had a BMI of nearly 50, dropped 138lbs in 10 months with VSG and have been maintaining my loss for nearly a year without issue.

  17. I would recommend you read my blog on the difference between VSG and RNY. Personally, you could not pay me to have RNY, no amount of money could convince me to deal with malabsorption of nutrients and vitamins.

In the blog entry labeled research links, you can find some long term information, research links about VSG.

  18. Google the "cottage cheese" test. . . The pouch test will NOT show anyone their pouch or sleeve capacity. The 5 day pouch test is just to purge carbs, and get back on track with protein first.

My max capacity with the cottage cheese test at 18 months out was a whopping 4.7 or 4 and 3/4 ounces.

  19. Thanks so much ! ! !

  20. Thought you might find this post interesting if you haven't already seen it:

  21. We'll be at Lackland AFB, and living on the North side of town from what I've been researching for schools. . . .

  22. We might be getting orders to San Antonio ! ! ! Thought we could finally get together once we get there. Nothing is going to happen until late summer/fall time frame, but it's looking like we'll be there by the end of the year.

  23. Yes, I eat every 3-4 hours. Some days, I only eat 3 meals per day, it all depends on what I have going on.

  24. Hey are you online? ? ?
