HappyMEE --- you should get in a better frame of mind... If you are setting yourself up to NOT LOSE any weight...........it means you haven't used the LB as a tool.....
In addtiion to the LB surgery, you need to change how/what you eat and also get into an exercise program....
I had my surgery 3 years ago - and can not imagine someone having it and NOT losing weight---
it IS difficult --- the weight did not come off easily -- and it doesn't STAY OFF easily - I still struggle EVERY DAY with eating.
I am NOT hungry --- I eat because i LIKE TO EAT!!!!
I have seen people lose 100 lbs after LB surgery -- and now they have gained it all back --- because they have learned how to eat what they want......
Set yourself up to do well -- succeed!!!!
It takes lots of effort and work --- YOU CAN DO IT!!!
    Good Luck!
and p,s. I told EVERYONE --- so that I could be held accountable.
I felt if I did NOT tell people --- then I wouldn't have to be worried about getting caught eating food........etc.
I needed help to lose weight - the LB was one tool, having others watch and see was another.........i enjoyed the "negative Nelly's" -- they motivated me to do the right thing!!!
    GOOD LUCK!!!!!

I started Couch to 5k a few months after my surgery and I loved it! The program is constantly changing so it goes by really fast and the week by week progress makes you feel really proud of yourself. All you need is a pair of runners and a ipod to use as a timer. Even better download the C25K app. Hope you find something you love to do!!!

YOU will get used to the low to no carbs.............
PRIOR to my LB I was a carb lover!!!
now I get physically sick if I eat carbs.......haven't had any Pasta in three years!
I have had a little rice, a few spoons of mashed potatoes.
NO Bagels, donuts, etc.................and absolutely NO pizza dough!
    Good Luck!!!

I'm doing the happy dance. Went to the Dr. this am. After 2 weeks of liquids, my band is back where it belongs and my pouch is not expanded. I can eat!!!!! During the two weeks, I didn't have reflux and no vomiting. I'm going to be really really careful from here on it. Although I am suffering with the reflux cough. I didn't have it before the liquids.

    Hello Everyone -
I have been banded for 2 years -------- and have GOOD RESTRICTION now..........but it has taken a long long time for me.
I have a surgeon that believes in SMALL fills with a lot of space in between -- it was HORRIBLE. I could eat and eat and eat. NO restriction what so ever.
The doctor and nurtitionist kept telling me to use my will power --- I would say to mysefl - IF I HAD WILL POWER, I WOULD NOT HAD BEEN FAT!!!
Instead of using will power - mind you I did TRY to eat less - I started an INTENSE exercise routine... signed up for 2 years at the local ATA karate school...so I took TaeKwonDo lessons, kickboxing AND resistance band training. So I did loose weight - but more so I lost inches and dropped pant sizes.
Finally about a year after my surgey I got some restriction.
WOW - you WILL notice the feeling when you get FULL.
I had NEVER "felt full" after eating tons of food.
Once you have restriction -- all those rules they tell you about -- you NEED to follow them. otherwise you will get "stuck" and have often "PB" episodes, etc.
I hate to say it (because I hated to hear this when I was in your shoes) - be patient - you WILL get restriction...and when you do --- WOW it will all be worth it!
    Hope this helps!
