I have been overweight most of my life. When I was 34 I stopped smoking and gained from 235 to around 325. After that I just couldnt seem to stop gaining. When I reached 383 I decided that I needed to do something about itSo I went to a seminar with Dr. Groves and him and his staff worked with me the whole way. After going throgh the 7 months of the dieting and all that stuff with my family Dr. Dr. Groves staff sumitted my paperwork to my insurance company. Wirhin a week and half they sent me a letter letting me know that I was approved and Dr. Groves gave me a call. I decided to have the surgery done during the Christmas break that way I knew if I could do the liquids for the two weeks during the time everybody was pigging out on turkey and dressing and cakes and all the goodies then I would make it just fine.For almost three months I went to the finess center and worked out three to five times a week. Then our work picked up and I found it hard to go to the fitness center working 12 to 15 hours a day and having to get up at about     2 AM every morning. So I am trying to do some walking two to three times a week plus what walking that I do at work.Today is July 21 and I have lost 100 pounds. From Looking at some of the other LapBanders that might not seem like a lot of weight. But to me I have done a great job so far. It took a long time to get fat and I know its going to take a lot of hard work to slim down to where I need to be. Its also great knowing that after all that I have lost I dont have to take the 13 pills in the morning and the 10 at night. I am down to just three pills a day. I take a blood pressure, cholestoral, and water pill.
