yippie! It was a good procedure! No problems to report, moving around with much ease. No too much pain, I am able to get down my liquids, protein drink. I am very happpy!!:tt1: My doctor is a great guy, very good at what he does....gastric/lap-band.
I want to post my surgery, and how it went, very good. I thanks those who dropped me a note wishing me the best on my date for surgery. I will keep you posted as I progress. But for now i can say I am so happy and glad this part is over and ready to take the next steps.

I am at a good restriction, very good.....could be "sweet spot", so why do I get down 2-3 soft chocolate chip cookies down much too easily?? NO pain, no discomfort....yet I can attempt to have my lean cuisne meal.....no way! discomfort at 4-5 bites. I dont get it?? I realize I lack the will-power to stay away from the cookies, slice of cake. I bet if i had the same discomfort as when I try to have real good foods, I sure as heck would not attempt to put it into the mouth!!
I am going to try to have more fruits in the house, and got to dump the chocolate cake that is sitting on my countertop!!
Anyone with this kind of problem going on, let me know how to deal with it. Crap food goes down and the good stuff has trouble....what's with that?? LAST NIGHT'S DINNER WAS VERY SM AMT OF STEAK, BROCOLLI AND CARROTS(STEAMED)
it took me forever to finish, discomfort even with chewing slowly......tell me why?? BUT THE CHOCOLATE CAKE WHEN DOWN LIKE A CHARM:w00t:

kept my appt for a fill, but didnt need the fill, needed just a tiny bit out! in fact he removed .8 of a cc, amazing how that sm amt can make a difference in comfortable eating. I was able to get my 1/2 bowl of soup down without any pain. And I still have the fullness......it' s great! Had my lunch, portion was good, stopped at full.
I am hopeful that I might be at the "green zone" !!:smile2: No hunger in the morning, satisfied with my liquid protein drink, can make it till 1:00pm lunch then on to dinner at about 6:30pm.
Now, I have to work on the walking, still have my pedometer on daily (thanks Delivered, that was a great idea). I am up to at least 4,000-5,000 steps aday.
Thanks lapband, you can be my newest bestest friend!!!:tongue2:

I was wondering what I was doing so different, and what might be the reason no weight loss. I have come to realize I had stopped drinking water throughout the day. I had been drinking at least 64 plus oz of water. So, I got back on the water drinking, found that I needed that intake, to help flush the system. I got on the scale, down 2 lbs! Now at 207-208....looking good! Restriction is still there, still discomfort when having soft foods. I have scheduled appt. might need just alittle out, to get that true "sweet spot"! I have no real hunger, so we are almost there, just need to tweak the pain issue.
My message here, drink the water!:w00t:

I think the restriction is good, except for the tense pain when I eat too fast, or the portion is not right! It's better at nite alittle looser. But no weight loss, I am stuck at 209 on a good day, and most of the time 210! I have started walking with the pedometer, that helps me with a visual on how many steps a day. Jacob and I are dancing less it seems, although we got a new Wii game, Samba de amigo, lots of fun shaking the maracas! I feel like a slug, moving ever so so slowly with the weight loss.
I go to the doc at the end of month, not sure what he can do, I think we have the correct of amt in band, no hunger in the morning, lunch is not much, can make it till dinner, but have a difficult time getting the dinner down without the pain. I hate the slime, I have been doing that I bit more often.....just hate that!
Need a new approach, if you have one....drop me a line:rolleyes2:

Even after the unfill of 1cc yesterday, I have very good restriction. I am able to have some soft foods, very slowly, chewing very carefully....and down it goes! But, if I try to eat too fast....ouch...ouch! I am waking with no hunger, have the liquid drink for breakfast and make it to lunchtime. Dinner was some soup with thin slices of chicken breast. It almost got cold before I could finish. I am learning to slow down. I am wondering if this could be a "sweet spot"! I sure hope so!
I think the right move was the unfill, now let's see what the scale thinks!!:cursing:

I made it through the week of the 16th till today, this morning. I was not able to move over to soft foods, and liquids were not very comfortable either. So, I call the doctor, and they agreed, time to unfill. I hope I dont loose the nice feeling of feeling full! I just was not able to tolerate the tense pain trying to swallow, not to mention the PBing and slime. That part was not fun. Dr. Felix saw me today, and he thought being at 6.4cc in the band was too much, out when 1cc! Let's hope this a good place, maybe a sweet spot! I came home, got my watery oatmeal down, so I think we are on our way! Patti with a smile:rolleyes2:

It's day 2 and quite honestly, I am tight and I dont mean "tight" as something good!!!LOL:cool: I really dont feel hungry, tried to have scambled eggs for lunch, ,mushed them, they didnt go down, and what little did...hurt like hell!:tt1: Tomatoe soup did great!
Down another lb today, 210. 18 lbs gone since 1/23/09, happy about that.
I will try to stick-it-out till Friday, if not dealing with hunger, I will make it. If not got to call the doc, to unfill a bit. I can now say I know something about PBing and sliming....and it is not fun!:sneaky:
Let's see how the next couple of days go.:w00t:

Ok, I got in a bit earlier for my second fill, yesterday 3/16, thank God....the hunger was getting pretty much. No portion control, and stall of weight loss, even with some exercise. So, now I feel a bit tight, having a bit of difficulty getting even the soft yogurt down. I am going to try to make it without calling the doc to unfill. I think after my stomach heals from the additional 1.7cc, I will be ok with eating again. Not hungry, mind is clear...no grazing, I think I will be fine and even might find my new total amt 6.4cc in my band, just might be the right amt for this month.
Oh, got the Wii game.."Dancing with the stars" and love it. Time goes so fast when you are having fun.
    I have found myself sweating, that's a good thing.

OMG i tried to have some bread yesterday, it just about got stuck, and it hurt, hurt. Not going to try that again. I was curious, so I had my burger on bread, cut it in half, tried to chew good, but it was not to happen. I have not tried pizza, so think that is not going to happen either.
have not gained, but have not lost either. Still stuck at 213, good but wish I could just get down 3 more pounds.

I am at a stall, nothing in the last 1/1/2 wk. I am managing the hunger, but it's getting tougher. I called to see about tweaking the the last fill, but cant get in until the 20th of Mar. I have noticed that if I keep busy the day passes much easier. I am back to work 3 days, so that is helping. got to find a way to make it to the next fill.:cool2:

I had my first fill on Tues. 17th and to my amazement....dropped 5 lbs more. This is looking good, think I might have a good response to the 4.7 cc fill. The hunger is a bit easier to maintain. I am trying to pay more attention to "being full". I have not really had that feeling, now I believe I just might know what it is. I have no pain eating solids, I do try to chew, chew and no drinking water after the meal.
Hey, I also am making a true effort to get to the gym, I am not completely there yet, going at least 1-2 times a week. I get my 2 miles in at a good pace. Today I cut my time by 7 minutes!! 2 miles in 36 minutes with some elevation. Good heart rate. I have been monitering my BP, because I still take my BP meds. I have noticed it is dropping much lower (112/ 81) than what is my normal(132/84), so I think I will be calling my Doctor soon. I feel very good, so much more optimistic, clothes are fitting better. I am able to chase the little one alot better!!:drum: Overall, I am very pleased with this journey.....

Today finally got here, my first fill. I was quite proud of myself, no fears, ready to do it! Doc and I discussed my hunger, weight loss over the past month, and decided to go for the fill. NOw, my doc is known for his aggressiveness so I kept that in mind, I knew he would not deny me the fill, because I was truly hungry, throughout the day! He numbed the area, he had me give him a crunch, my port was placed under my sternum, so the crunch position helped him locate the port. I didnt feel a thing! He placed 2cc then he had my swing my legs around the table, sit-up he gave me water to drink.....it went down very good, so he put another cc in....I drank, it went down good......so another cc, drank again, no problem.....he went for .7 of a cc., that did it. I drank, it went down very slowly, some restriction, no pain. He was happy with that, so I have 4.7 cc in my 10cc band. I was told to have yogurt today, then move over to soft foods, then solids.
He informed me that the fill could last 1wk-2wks or we could actually hit my sweet spot "green zone". I feel pretty good, some restriction, yogurt is going down great, but most of all I am feeling full, so I think we are in the right direction. Now, the journey does begin, good choices of foods, eating slowly (that is a difficult one for me), correct portions and exercise. Again, I am so excited. Getting hungry these past weeks was getting hard to handle, so I am glad to be at the next step. I will keep you posted on my first fill adventure, let's hope we get more that 2 weeks of feeling full.

Yes, I blew it! I have no restriction, so all my meal went down the hatch so good! I ate every thing on my plate, it was italian food, full course meal. Salad, chicken with pasta and Veggies. then came the Taramasui (sp) oh but it was so good!! I ate slow, chewed and down it went. YES, I was quite full, so finally I know what it feels like to have a big full belly with the band!:drum: I went to the bridal shower on a very empty stomach, no breakfast, that was wrong to start! I came home and didnt feel hungry until 9:00 pm, so I had some high fiber/protein cereal. I was so afraid to get on the scale this morning, but I did.....218 still. I made my Valentine's weight challenge, actually lost an extra lb. I go to the doc on Tues. And believe me, I will discuss my luncheon. Maybe it's time for the first fill, need some help now, my snacks are not really helping and the hunger is progressing. I have loss a total of 10 lbs in 4 weeks, good for me...I cant remember doing that in a very very long time.
I am back on track today, I sit and think about that luncheon and cant understand why I didnt have more will power? My land band is a tool, all I needed to do was use it!!

So far all is going good, I think I am adjusting to the hunger pangs. I am now including a solid lunch...lean cuisine meal. I chew, chew and it goes down with no problem.
I have found myself at the gym the last couple of days. I had been walking around the block, but now at the gym doing 1.5 to 2 miles. I feel so good, and happy.
My older children are my cheeleaders, and I cant say enough about my wonderful husband, Karl.
I am so lucky to have found the lap-band, a whole new lookout for a healthier lifestyle. I am hoping to see 215 by the 16th of Feb.

Yesterday I hit 219 lbs.....I am so happy to see those twenties gone!! I started at 228 lbs and have been higher yrs ago! but that is done with....no more 220's bye-bye
I have to update my next dr. visit....it's Feb. 16th not in March. So happy to have checked my appt card. The hunger is alittle bit much at times, I am trying to manage. Maybe a fill, at the appt. will help.
I have moved over to a solid food at lunch.....chew chew chew, it did help and went down pretty good.
Yesterday I took a good walk around the block, felt so good....MP3 playing some good 70's music!! :toetap05:

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since procedure, I was doing pretty good, but now, I can honestly say.......I AM GETTING HUNGRY!
I weighed on my scale, down to 220, so that is now a good 8 lbs!! Other than the hunger comin, I am feeling good. I need to go walk more! Dr. said call if I needed to see him earlier than the Mar. 5th appt he gave me for my first fill. I dont know if I should think about calling something earlier...end of month....?? Hope I dont eat my little ones arms off!!:toetap05: LOL

I went to my post-op ck and I have lost 5 lbs!! hoooray!!:tongue2:Everything is healing great, and I feel so good. Doc wants me on another week of mushy, although I have been making my mush almost into liquid! So, I have to thicken things up, into a more consistant mush. Get ready for the soft foods to come soon. That is why my portions have been more than a 2-3 oz cup, I have been drinking my meals.
I cant stress enough how good I feel, and the appetite is good, not hungry, so must be doing something right.
At the office I saw familar faces from when I started the journey.....you know what.....? they all look so happy. One lady told me, my gosh, I can see my ankles now! Amazing, how a change in lifestyle can prompt the smallest of accomplishments! WE are not done, more good is coming our way.....and it's coming in a much smaller package!!!!LOL:thumbup:

I can honestly say this is going good!I am no longer taking any pain med, that stopped on day #2. i have been doing all the housework without any discomfort. I have two small ones, ages 5 and almost 2, I can take care of their needs,so I am quite happy. My meals are getting progressed to mushy. Watery oatmeal really isnt too bad! I have come to enjoy schmushy pinto beans. I am taking my vitamins and BP meds, on problem. I got on the scale just to see.. I started at 228 at the hospital, Wed. morning, today my scale 222lbs! I might be off a lb, not bad. I feel good, not too hungry, doing great controlling the hunger when it does come in. i think i biggest problem was not knowing that I didnt have to eat so much anymore! God is good, thnks lap-band.:eek:
