    Awesome job. Keep it up!

    Great job!
  4. To my understanding the insurance covered the replacement. Hell, it cost me less out of pocket for the replacement than the original by A LOT. I originally got my surgery through Beverly Hills Physicians which cost me $4000 out of pocket (with insurance), and the replacement was done at Cedars Sinai which was only $300 out of pocket (with insurance). Really wish I didn't go through Beverly Hills Physicians originally!

    Mulligan...

Its been an interesting journey for me. I went from getting banded and being a band rockstar losing like 70lbs in 4-5 months to losing all restriction for about 6 months and gaining 10lbs. Discovered my band had a leak due to a bad band. They replaced my band yesterday and I'm excited to get back on track. Lets see if this time around I can keep rocking the weight loss and meet my goal. I'll post my surgery experience after I'm less drugged up.

    Losing the Band...

Well, just got home from my surgery, and they were able to give me a band exchange without an issue...woot!
  8. Well, for all those in So Cal, you know the weather is terrible outside. Pouring rain brings sadness to this bandster. In June 2009, I began to have chest pains and complications. Dr. Feiz assumed it was due to the band being too tight. I was shocked to hear that because I felt like I was lacking in restriction. Well, my band was completely unfilled to see if that resolved it. It seemed to do the job initially, but I would still get the pains occasionally; so it was determined to be gas pains from me swallowing so much air (I never got the hang of drinking/eating without doing that. So, now it’s January 2010 and my doctor felt it was okay for me to get refilled after my endoscopy came back clean. While getting my first fill in 6 months, it caused bad pain in my chest. So, we tried to pull the fluid back out and realized my band has a leak. To verify, the doc put in 10cc and was only able to get out 6ccs. So, my band or something has gone bad and I need to go in for surgery once again to see if the band is bad. When in there, we’ll determine that we’ll either replace the band or just completely remove it. I guess in a week or two, I’ll either be a born-again bandster, or a former bandster :-( I really hope my band can be replace and I'm back on track like I was when I first got the band because back then I was rocking it!

296.. all the way through my journey..to 185 now

    Wow... great job!
  10. Hey! I stumbled upon your profile and I must say you've done a great job with your band. Congrats. I noticed your social lifestyle fits closer to mine than most people I've seen on here, how are you balancing your partying and drinking with your band?

  11. I don't mean to hi-jack this thread, but I am on a clear liquid diet for the next couple days and would like to know more on what people are having (or could have)
  12. Holy bananas, I just went through your album and you've done an amazing job. You're an inspiration to all

  13. Yo man, I saw that you were recently banded and already losing. Good job man and keep it up. You'll be down in no time

When it rains it pours... and I don't mean weather.

  15. So, after all the headache I've gone through with my band, I'm losing it. After an endoscopy that came back clean, I went to get my first fill in over 6 months. When I got my fill, it hurt in the chest real bad. But then we discovered that there was a leak after we inserted 10cc but can only pull out 6cc. So, Doctor is referring me to have the band removed and possibly reinstalled :-(

  16. Seems like every year people make resolutions after New Year's Day to lose weight. A lot of these peoples journeys start with the good chunk of pounds they put on over the holidays. That sounds like running backwards for the first leg of a race. This is my first holiday season with the band, and I'm going to have it work for me. So, instead of trying to lose the weight I gained over the holidays after New Year's, I'm going to raise the ante and try to lose weight through the holidays. Maybe it's because I'm from Vegas and I'm a gambling man, or maybe money motivates me, but I bet my buddy $100 that I can lose 35 lbs by Christmas day. The odds are against me and but I got the weight to lose. It'll be harder than anything I've done since I'm at a 6-month plateau. Wish me luck! START: 295 on November 24 GOAL: 260 by Christmas day!
  17. Well, I'm officially a failure. I just got back in town from the holidays and I have a net gain for 2 lbs  Holidays are the death of me!
  18. Yup. Bit off more than I can chew. I've lost a whopping 5lbs. I'm in negotiations to restructure the wager part of this, double the money, same weight, more time. But nonetheless, I'm determined to lose weight before New Year's gets here.
  19. MrRiceGuy

    165lbs fit perfectly into a size 8 :)

Great job! Are you in a dressing room?... with a boy
  20. I just got back in town from a vacation with a bunch of my friends and I'd be lying if I said I'm not afraid to weigh in. I'll weigh in tomorrow or the day after and let you know know how my "lose before New Year's is going".
  21. Thanks for all the support guys! I'm liking that others are wanting to take on a similar challenge! TOP 5 HOLIDAY OBSTACLES SO FAR: 1.) Thanksgiving 2.) Thanksgiving Leftovers 3.) Holiday Cookies and Candies Out in the Open at Work 4.) Holiday Parties 5.) Getting Darker and Colder Earlier (hard to motivate past) Well, I'm already behind the curve. I've only lost 3lbs this week
  22. Yea, I realize it's unrealistic, but I have to have a dream, right? If I just lose weight through the holidays that' be a huge achievement. After this past holiday, I'm starting to realize this is going to be REAL tough.
  23. I'm doing, eh... I haven't lost weight in forever it seems like. It could be because I'm completely unfilled and going back to a lot of my old ways. I have an appointment tomorrow to have my band checked out and possibly refilled if there aren't any issues. Right before Thanksgiving... I'm determined to lose another 35 lbs before Christmas, and dammit, I'll do it.

post your before & during/after pictures

Holy bananas, Batman! You've lost a tremendous amount of weight in just 3 months. You're an inspiration to all.
  25. Hey! I just got through reading an old thread of yours about thinking your band may be a dud because of no restriction... it was a great thread. You made mention that you had temptations to eat past your full point, what will happen if you do? I haven't had restriction really since I've had the band and will be going to my doc to see if I need a major fill. Thanks for that thread!
