NewNewMe got a reaction from Lifestylechange45 in Band to sleeve in one surgery. Who's had it done that way? How long had you had your band? What was your recovery like? Any complications? Regrets?
Very normal! And when you wake up on the other side you realize how glad you are that you did it! Hang in there!

I recall a very sad time when I got on a roller coaster to find I didn't fit. This was before they had the special large passenger seats available. I was so embarrassed to be taken off the ride in front of everyone leaving my frightened kids to ride alone. I never tried again and had not been on a coaster in many years. Last week my son and I went to Busch Gardens in VA. I road every coaster! It was such a huge NSV for me. The odd thing is that I was still afraid I would get kicked off even though I knew I fit like everyone else. I don't think I will ever shake that feeling that I am still my old size.

@@NewNewMe, thanks for the support! I feel like all I do is eat or think about eating now! I am going to rethink my Protein options this week. I have been eating a lot of eggs because they are easy and I do not have trouble with them, but honestly they aren't very high in Protein so methinks I need a new choice!

Six weeks out you should not be drinking your calories. Eat 5-6 small high Protein meals a day. I would suggest tacking your food with myfitnesspal. Don't forget to exercise too!

I would highly suggest using the C25K app. I started in January and have run two 5k events since. I run 3 times a week now and really feel it has made a difference in my weight loss. I love the freedom of running for exercise. When jogging try to breath in through you nose and out your mouth.

That is so awesome. I experience a similar experienced when I was around 20. Went to six flags, was doing great on the rides. Then I got to one of the rides with my sister, I was so emotional after I realized I couldn't fit. I haven't been back to a theme park since. Honestly after a loss some weight, I probably want do a theme park now because I am chicken, but I do want to rock climb and other fun activities that my weight has stopped me from enjoying.

    Well done.
Took my 17 year old and several of his friends to Carowinds two weeks ago.
I was suckered into riding a beast of a rollercoaster with them.
Scared my old arse to death. Crazy times, but fun times.
I'm not into rollercoasters....at all......but I couldn't resist the urge to sit in the seat and buckle up and slam down the harness lock with vigor and fit in there just fine. The near 100 mph freefall a couple minutes later.............aw hell no.....never again, lol.

Can't Waite to ride with my 7 year old. We went to the fair in July and I could barely fit! My fat was hanging over the bars and I was so squished. Next year we plan to go to Busch gardens and ride the rides too.... I'm so glad you were able to ride all the coasters

Good for you and your son. I often think of the things I couldn't do with my kids and the times the must have been embarrassed by my weight, especially on the beach. So happy your getting a second chance. Good luck to you. My surgery is 9/13

Great job! Keep going! C25K was best thing I did for myself his year. I started in January and ran my first 5k in April. I am running another at the end of August. I run 3 times a week religiously. It is harder now with intense heat but I am determined to keep running in all weather.

I went on vacation at 3 months out. I came back lighter than before I left. First time that ever happened. Vacation was great! I would go on your cruise!

    Heck yes !!!!!
Five months post-op I took a killer vacation and had much fun (first time flying in years.....plenty of room in the seat)......tremendous amount of walking. Followed it up three weeks later with a 7-day cruise where I hit the ship's gym quite often.
I was more than ready for the challenges posed.
    Go for it !!!!!

Barring some sort of horrific complication, you'll be absolutely fine by the cruise. You'll enjoy both the cruise and the reunion more as a lighter weight person IMO.

I don't miss anything! I just don't crave the junk like I used to and when I do indulge I am like eh that was ok. No need to eat a ton of Cookies or cake or chips. They don't have a hold on me anymore. But if I want some I eat it and move on. That is not my norm, my norm is choosing what is best for me. If you treat this as a restrictive diet you will go off eventually. Make life changes instead.
