  3. Hi Missy, sounds like you are doing great! How is your post op diet coming along? Are you on full food now? Looks like you are losing weight..good girl! The main thing is just make sure you eat protein as much as possible. It keeps you satisfied longer! How is the drinking coming along? Remember it is empty calories. If you have to go to AA please do so. It will help you!

  4. hey girly! how have u been?

  5. Hey There! This is Missy :-) Got My Surgery Date. Dec. 8 th. We chatted on phone a little wail ago. I'm getting so nerves, and i start my post oped diet tomorrow. So it is going to be fun the next 14 days. So what is going on with you?

  6. Hello there!! It's been a while since I've been on the boards. I was banded over 3 years ago and lost over 70 lbs. After my divorce I decided what the heck......lets take 1 cc out and eat!! Well, helllooo, I ate and gained 50 lbs back in 10 months. I'm proud to say that I have lost that since last November. So I'm on the big push now to lose about 40-45 more lbs for the final push. Life is good and I am super happy. I LOVE MY BAND! IT HAS BEEN THERE FOR ME THROUGH THICK AND THIN...NO PUN INTENDED! I've learned how to eat small meals throughout the day to stay full and not hungry. Yes, I still know how to eat around the poor thing...but I am all the wiser having done the silly things like eat ice cream and all those yummy soft foods we love to eat to see...well if...we can do it! And yes, we do gain weight! Don't you just hate when you gain weight drinking....well.......blended coffees...helllo!! Nice to meet all of you.....Glad to be back!!:smile2:

    Celebrate Recovery

Hi, My name is Julie and I'm an alcoholic in recovery. I was banded 3 years ago June. When I got sober in January I had some fill taken out. I have gained 30 lbs. The folks I have talked to in AA say that is quite common as we intake more sugar. I was sober 4 months and in May relapsed. It's been a struggle and I keep going in and out of the rooms of AA hoping to finally get it. Can you please share your story of recovery with me. I know cross-addiction is very common and when we don't have food to comfort us we can sometimes go into other areas of addiction. I don't want those people to answer me like "get a f* clue don't drink". I live in a world that is filled with both joy and isolation at the same time. AA friends always welcome me back no matter what. I would love to hear more from you...God Bless.

Gained 30 lbs a little over 3 years out

Thank you all for your support. I am going to call my surgeon today and get in for a fill. Come hell or high water I will pay for it. When I lose I usually lose 1-2 lbs per week when I'm at the right level....so I am hoping to lose the 30 lbs in the next 4-6 months. Funny, when I look at those 14s with my cute little embleshed butterflies and things I just OMG....I was so skinny! Why are we so hard on ourselves when we don't think we are thin enough! Thanks girls....glad to be back. Love you all. Still love the band!
  9. I was at a size 14/16 but I didn't have the money for fills anymore $200. I have gained 30 lbs and I am up 1 size, sometimes 2 depending on what I wear. I am calling my surgeon next week to see if I can get a fill. OMG, I am so scared. I was 320 when I started this adventure, 30 lbs on my own and over 70 on lapband. I was pretty satisfied with over 70 lbs lost and a size 14/16 at 5'8 1/4. I did get sick of BPing but because I don't do a lot of working out I was satisfied. Can someone give me some insight as to how they got back on track please. I feel so discouraged really. But they say you can gain 20% back...so I am at 40%. It's okay...I just need to get with the program. Of course, getting a large iced coffee at McDonalds didn't help...they don't use non fat milk and it goes down so nicely with the band. I look at my 14s now and say OMG, I was so skinny. I know I can lose the 30 lbs but it will take me a year. Please help!
  10. Julie:

Sorry to hear about your accident, etc. Please get well and hopefully things will turn to the positive instead of accidents, etc. Take care and drop me a line when you are feeling better.

    Anyone Preggers over 40?

Thanks everyone. I am 42 on 5/28. If I do have another child it most likely will be between 44-45 as that is the timeline we have. I have had 2 great pregnancies, 17 and 8 years old now. I would have to have a tubal ligation reversal however they san it is up to 90% success rate to get pregnant. My main concern would be birth defects. Thanks again.
  12. Hi Julie:

I'm going to send you a pm.

    Sue

  13. Hi Julie:

I'm glad things are going well for you. Don't worry about a few pounds if you stay in the same size.

I'm working on getting a tummy tuck and awaiting approval from insurance for their portion (panni). I should know next week.

    Take care.

    Sue

  14. I am not sure if you are still on the boards. I went through a divorce the last few months so I haven't been. Yes I am bi-polar but my medication goes down fine. Let mew know what you are up to. Julie

  15. Hi Cathrine, are you still around? Things are awesome. Divorced and sober. All is good.
