    6 Months Today!

You look great! What was your highest weight? How is your eating now?
  2. Hello good people! I'm so excited to find some folks that can relate to me. I have been trying for more than 2 year to have my revision from the band to the sleeve. I was sleeved in late 2008. I started off good, but I never lost more than 60, and that was a fight. I realize that although any surgery is just a tool and the work comes from the person, I realize that I need more help that I thought. So I am scheduled for the 19th. I was initially scheduled for the 12th, but I think I need more time to mentally prepare myself. I was just told I was approved, and then I was told to just let then know when I am ready. Soooooo....... now you might feel some of my apprehension. I know this is my dream, I'm just nervous. I want to do well. I know that the journey with the sleeve is completely different. I just need some encouragement and understanding from some people that know just what I am going through. Thanks in advance

Is that true? I pray that isn't the case for me. I have to do well with this. It's my second time around and thus weight has got to go NOW!
  4. Hey! I was sleeved the same day. I am down 20 pounds. I have just started working out. I am line dancing. I'm lost, but I love it. I am gonna try kickboxing today. I want to take my weight loss to the next level. I was low on energy, but I got some b12 nasal spray from my doctor and all is well with the world. Lol!
  5. I agree. I am totally enjoying the feeling of the sleeve. My fullness is rarely tight just a feeling of contentment. I must admit that I had to learn what is too much, because I was tastings or should I say nibbling on my food prior eating my meal and Sleevie had to put me in check about that. Lol! I am one month out and 20 pounds down. I have started working out again. Life is grand. God is amazing!

Well today I have the banana cream and it has 18 sugars,18 carbs and 11 proteins. The caramel is high. It's good as a treat, but you have to really be careful. I don't take in that many sugars at one time, so the first time I had this one I was like Weee! So just have that in place of something sweet.

There is this product called proti15. It's 76 calorie powder or liquid that you pour onto your drink, like a crystal light, and it's 15 grams of protein. I got this a support group. You might could find it on Amazon or some other sites. I will look for it and let you know. You can also get some invisiwhey. I got this at the Vitiman Shoppe 2 tablespoons is 10 grams of protein. You can add it to your Greek yogurt or crystal light (has no flavor). Chicken salad and other meats would be good to add. But if you get some premade protein drinks will help you between meals. The protein is gonna help your energy. You need to get some b12. I got the nose spray. I do it once a week, and I already feel more energy.
  10. Today I have been banded one month. I lost 20 pounds since the surgery. I am super happy. I have been fighting for the 6 month to get off 20 and it is now done. Now if I can loose 15 to 20 per month, I will be at my goal before I know it. I think this is a slow but good process. Honestly, it took about 3 months to drop 20 pounds with the lapband. I give God all the glory!

I'm super tired, and I was struggling with energy to go to the gym. I just got my b12 nasal spray. I just used it so I'm pray this works.
  12. You will be in soft foods by then. If you didn't bring food, you can eat the toppings (ie. Cheese and pepperoni). Now I am not sure what your people would say about onions and other hard raw things, but you can't really go wrong with the cheese. You should also drink a shake right before the party. I would also bring my protein shakes.
  13. I had my surgery the same day. I have also been working hard to get my protein in. Honestly, I feeling really good so far. I didn't really work out much this first month. I was nervous about my healing process. I had no complications, and I desired to keep it that way. But I had a great first workout Friday. And I look for more to come.
  14. I does for me. My calories fluctuate between 800 and 1000, depending.

I felt this way. I thought I was loosing my mind. I think you will have eat foods packed with protein in addition to drinking protein, i.e. chilli, noodless spaghetti, adding peanut butter, etc. I have to eat ever 2 hours or so. But we are still eating small meals, so you don't have to worry about over eating. I think our metabolisms is burning. I believe that one of the things about having less stomach is that your body burns the food faster. I also think the more we work out the more food we will also need. But it's really just the protein that is needed.I have some whey that I can sprinkled over foods to increase the protein. I added this to my yogurt and foods.

    Hair loss!

I believe that less manipulation during this process is also best. I am added extension to my hair, and not putting heat or anything on it. I am also taking my biotin, vitamins, and hair, nail supplement. We just have to monitor it. Also cutting your hair won't hurt. But you have to do what works for you. This is your journey. I think short hair is great. You can always add hair to make it fuller. Don't worry too much about it. Especially if you are doing all that you can. Just add some more to it, and keep it moving.

Very soon I will go from Band to Sleeve!

Its wonderful to eat to a point of satisfied without feeling over stuffed or stuck. I hated that stuck feeling. I could never eat the foods that were good for me. I was often so frustrated that I would end up eating something that I knew was not good for me just to have something. I will be one month tomorrow. I am adjusting to my sleeve. I feel like I can really eat, and that is because I have healed at a rapid rate. But I will say that even though I can be satisfied from 5 to 7 bites, my sleeve won't allow me to do more than I even did with the band. I tend to always take my time. I never want to over do it. I love being content and seeing so much food still left on my plate. Last weekend was great. I didn't eat the bread or salad. I waited for my meal. Had a little under half of my food, and left the rest at the restaurant. Now the old me, would have been thinking about wasting my money. I just want to eat until content and let that be that. Often I use to go visit my now husband in Spain. The one thing I learned that they don't do is take food away. They eat all that they can, and whatever is left stays. They don't over feed themselves just to take all of their food away. They enjoy what they have, and then keep it moving. That is my new perspective on eating out. Stay encouraged. I am always here if you have questions. Honestly, I struggle with seeing that someone sent me a quote. So you can also message me.

    Hair loss!

Well I have been doing a lot of protective styles so keep down on the manipulation. I'm moisturizing and taking my protein and biotin as I should. Well trying. I have been struggling lately with my water in take, so I am trying to do better. I pray to God my hair staying with me
  24. Thanks for being so open about your struggle. It's truly a process. I find myself thinking, I can have one more bite. But my stomach is like hell no! So my mind is starting to catch up, and my fear is stretching back out my pouch. I also don't want to get sick. So when I really put it all in prospective it helps me. I want to find the foods that work best for me. I think they maybe seafood, but I will find out in time. Stay encouraged
