Do you miss eating?
jerseygirl518 replied to Arnaz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still miss the thought of eating. I love the show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives". I've been to several that have been on the show. The food he shows, I would still love to dive into. It's a mental hunger as opposed to a physical hunger. My brain always says "you'd really like to finish eating that" and my band says "are you nuts". -

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. BG - The nutritionist via email was no help. It was blah blah blah - we need to talk. I've been super super careful (small bits and chew chew chew) and have not had any PB's since I posted. Still having trouble getting in all my calories. How the heck do you get in 1200 calories a day when you can only eat 1/2 cup at a time and you're only supposed to eat 3 meals a day. That's what I'm asking Pat when I talk to her. -

BG & JT Thanks for the response. No sense calling the Dr's Office as they are at the Hosp doing fills. Awaiting response from the nutritionist. -

Input Please. Since my .5 fill in Oct. I've been having trouble eating. On any given day, something I eat gets stuck. So I've been doing mushy. In Dec. Dr. said band was ok. Eat smaller bites and chew the hell out of it. My problem. I'm not getting in enough calories. I range from 600 - 800 per day. Weight loss stalled. I'm trying to stay within my guidelines. 72 protein - 35 fat and 50 carbs. If I push calories, my carbs seem to skyrocket. Any suggestions. (I've contacted my Nutritionist at the hospital). -
[quote=Majj;am I the only one that has thesr thought before the operation..I am getting scared ..I want to loose weight I want to get healthy and this seems my last option...nerves are running amuck........ The weather here in Oz is extremely HOT Majj - You're not alone. I think we all had that thought. I know I did. All I know is that I'm elated that I did it. The weather here in the real Oz (Kansas) is extremely COLD

What's For Breakfast
jerseygirl518 replied to Sluggo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have Instant oatmeal every other morning. I also add 1.5 tsp of GenSoy protein powder. That adds 13 gr of protein. -
Found my new favorite protein source this week. Aqua Star Bay Scallops. Single pouch. 100 calories, 3 carbs, 19 proteins. Being from the East Coast have always loved them but not a big item in Kansas. Price Chopper had them 10 for $10.

Did you name your band?
jerseygirl518 replied to Cocoabean's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had thought about Louis for my band because I named my GPS Thelma. I'll keep thinking. Ralph. Too Funny -
Morning all. Weighed in at 226.5. Down 3 lbs this week. Thanks BG for the oatmeal/soy protein tip.

Way to go Majj. Congrats on the appointments and Happy Birthday early. The heck with what other people think. You need to do this for you. I didn't know the meaning of the word exercise before LB because it hurt too much, now I do the wii machine every day. Please keep us posted. Judy

Tomorrow Morning!!

Stacey, Good wishes are coming your way for tomorrow morning. Keep posting. -
Yea!!! Happy for you. Where are you having it done. I also live in KS.

CL. It's not a "foolish" thing. You're looking to improve your health. I'd do it again in a NY minute. I was 38 days shy of 63 when I had it done. No problems. Being retired, I don't remember how long the down time was. I do know I went to a wedding 15 days later.

Numbing medication with fills
jerseygirl518 replied to jessicakolman's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
1st fill - no numbing. He stuck me 5 or 6 times with numerous probing in between. Serious tears. Finally he realized my port is sideways. He had me pooch out my stomach and he found it right away. Second fill, (no numbing) I reminded him it was sideways. Pooched out and he found it right away. ( -

Did you name your band?
jerseygirl518 replied to Cocoabean's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I never even thought about naming it. Have some serious thinking to do. -
I think it's a good idea, but can't do it until June. I'm going to surprise my friends with a 100 lb loss. They haven't seen me in a year. I can't wait to see their faces.
-
Phyl, I think I wind up a snow ball because I can't lock my right knee. The left knee is new and it locks, but I need the right one replaced.
-
What do you mean "older folks" We're all on the same set of RR tracks. There are alot of less strenuous things to do. There are balance games, yoga, strength training - plus the aerobic stuff.

Morning All. Finally hit the 20's. 229.5 Today. It's been a SLOW month for me. JT - Great work on 100 lbs.
-
FYI - Don't overdo the wii. OML I was in so much pain in the middle of the night. My shoulders were sending messages I didn't want to hear. Too much golf, I had never done it before. Oh, and by the way. I can't ski jump. No matter what I do, I wind up a giant snow ball. The good news is I weighed in at 229.5. In the twenties. .5 lbs away from 80 lbs lost.

Roxie, this morning I did soccer, slolum skiing, golf, yoga, jogging, tennis and the drum major thing. I'm still new to it, so I'm trying everything. Because of bad knees, there are some things I can't do.
