  1. Hi StarZie! Thinking about you running in your 5K tomorrow! Have fun! :) Willowcat

  2. Hi--I'm down 50 lbs, as of today--another 100 to go.

  3. You've got some great plans in place! All the pieces will fall into place. Is the Dance, Dance Revolution on the wii? I'm so out of it technology-wise. We have a Wii Fit that my husband and I both enjoy.

  4. I ride my exercise bike for 30 minutes and 6 miles every day. Sometimes I also walk or take water aerobics classes. You?

  5. I totally get not telling people. Only 3 people know I've had surgery. It really isn't anybody's business anyway. I love this site because I've learned SO MUCH about the band and the process. I can't imagine having had this surgery without the support from this site! It really is a godsend!

  6. Teachers go back a week from tomorrow; students start on the Monday after (August 17). I'm very bad during the summer and stay up to the wee hours of the night--followed by getting up very late and even napping in the middle of the day! So right now I'm trying to set my body clock back to "REALITY." I've been getting up at 5:00 am since Sunday--I'm very tired. It's good to see you so active with the June Journeys group! :)

  7. Hi! My second fill brought me much-needed restriction! All's going well. I saw my general practioner a few weeks ago and he said that I can quit taking the Metformin and the Actos that I was taking! Yeah! I like your new profile picture/avatar--you're very pretty. Hope all is well with you!

  8. Barbara, I still really like Dr. Fisher. He's very easy-going but professional. I've had nothing but a positive experience. My insurer is Kaiser. They only pay 50%. Dr. Fisher's fee was a flat fee (sorry but I don't remember how much) and all fills and unfills are "free" for the first year. The bariatric team he is with is a "Center of Excellence." Kaiser would not pay anything for anyone except a member of the team. Good luck! Do you live in Colorado Springs? It's very convenient to have the surgery and your after-care in the same town in which you live. Stay in touch.

  9. Hi Jessi! Good to hear from you. I'm doing alright. I saw my nutritionist today and I've lost 6 lbs. since I saw her a month ago. At least I'm heading in the right direction. Next week I get my second fill. I hope it helps more than the first fill did. How are you doing lately? Any complications? Are you in bandster hell right now (hopefully not!) or feeling restriction? I hope everything is working really well for you. Stay in touch. :) Willow

  10. Have a safe and pleasant flight tomorrow! I'll be thinking of you and hoping for the best on Thursday!

  11. Hi! Glad to hear that teachers were getting treated by royalty somewhere! Bet you had a good time. :) I've had one fill so far. At first I was really disgusted because I didn't feel any differently--eating wise. But now 4 days later I think the fill is "kicking in." How is that even possible?! I'm so thankful to have all of July to focus on just me. We go back August 17th--that will be the real test for me and my band. How are you doing? You're moving into your third month and second fill--are you happy with the weight you've lost so far? I also LOVE teaching--it's one of the reasons I got the band. At the rate I was going health-wise, there was no way I was going to be able to continue teaching for the next 15-20 years. And believe it or not, I couldn't stand the idea of that!

  12. Hi Sabrina, What grade do you teach? I teach 2nd.

  13. Cowboyswife, What grade do you teach? I've been teaching for 21 years now and have taught K and 1st. Next year I'll be teaching 2nd.

  14. Vanity, I like your new avatar--beautiful!

  15. Tammybuckler, I saw that you posted on the thread about losing 130 lbs. I also saw that you are getting banded in June. There is a social group called June Journeys that you might want to check out (go up to "Community" and click on Social Groups--you'll see June Journeys there--come join us!) When is your surgery scheduled? I was banded this last Thursday. It's good to talk to other people who are in the same boat as you are. :)

  16. hi Jessica--sorry your date got moved to the 18th--are you going to keep doing your pre-op diet or wait until the 8th to start again?

  17. Hi isaviolinist! I love the picture of the two cats on your profile page--are they yours? My avatar is my cat, Jenny. I see that you're 20 years younger than I am--ah to have had this available to me 20 years ago...! I'm terribly afraid that my poor body is not going to be snapping back into shape too well after all these years--though my fingers are crossed and anything's possible. From here at 276 (I've lost 9lbs so far on the pre-op diet!), 135 looks a long, long ways away! I see you joined the June Journeys support group. When is your surgery? Mine is this Thursday--Yikes/Yeah!
