Wow, how did you get insurance to cover any portion of it? I have Aetna, any chance you had them? Just hoping.... Thanks!

    Pictures

Wow, what an inspiration! My belly currently looks like your before pictures - almost exactly. I'm amazed at how wonderful you look. How the heck did you get insurance to pay for it? Please let me know and I'll try and same route! Thanks and congratulations!

Any of you have 2 sets of hips?

Sorry, I can't say I've seen that. What does your doctor say about the appearance? It sounds interesting but I hope you can get them looking how you want! Good luck!
  4. Good Morning! I haven't been taking my Calcium for quite a while now and my hair has started to fall out (thank goodness I have a lot of it!) I have bought the calcium nitrate liquid and am wondering if one of you can tell me how much I am supposed to be taking. Thanks so much!!

How much have you taken off???

WOWEE!!! I need to take some lessons from you.... That's simply incredible!
  6. Forgot to say, THANK YOU SO MUCH for your kind compliments!
  7. Great advice, I'll give the office a call to see what they recommend. They always talk me into going to classes and support groups and everything else so I hate to call!!! I know, that's not a bad thing but I'm kind of busy now and feel guilty when I say not to those suggestions. Have a great week, Siobhan

    Better Sex Life?

There's no comparison!! I can't get my husband to stop groping and grabbing me.... I'm not complaining, just saying he's fallen re-in love with me after 30 years!!! We're not as old as it might sound, by the way, I met him when I was 13!!! Life is good...
  9. It occurred to me that I'm a person who basically works on different motivators. So, I decided to share what my current goals and rewards are and to see what yours are. Maybe you have have a better motivator and reward system and I just didn't think of it. Let's share how you reward yourself for doing great on your journey. Can't wait to see what you say!! I'll start, my husband I decided on the following rewards for the following goals: 1. When I hit an additional 20 pounds (for a total loss of 53 pounds) - a night at Tropicana in Atlantic City 2. When I hit 30 pounds (for a total loss of 63 pounds) - getting my hair done (the works!) and a nice date 3. When I hit 40 pounds (for a total loss of 73 pounds) - a new outfit and a nice date 4. When I hit 50 pounds (for a total loss of 83 pounds) - a trip to Florida I have 11 more pounds until I hit goal number 1! Can't wait...

    Acid Reflux

I'm glad you posted this. I get this a little since my fill a week ago. I think it just means we're tighter and need to slow down a bit (in my case.) I had this right after my last fill, also, but after I lost weight it went away. I know I didn't slip or dilate in the past week because I've been following every little rules that exists! Haha, I have, though. I think it just means we're probably a little tighter than we should be and my thoughts on this is, I'll lose some more weight and it will go away - it's a win win!! Mine is very minor, though, yours sounds a little more uncomfortable. Good luck, hope you feel better!

    GAINING and SCARED

Well said, Cindy... jntedwards, you've come so far, don't sabotage yourself! I'm still in the struggling to lose another 40 pounds stage and I don't want you to be there again. Remember how good it felt when you met your goal, don't you want to feel that way again? I know you do. Remember how good it felt when you fit into a much smaller size, I know you want to be there comfortably again. Remember how good you feel about yourself when you are where you want to be, you deserve to be there again. Twenty pounds isn't much, you can get back down there; but 50 pounds is much tougher. Don't allow that to happen. Start right here and now acting as if you have a fill and using the rules that got you to lose so much weight. YOU CAN DO IT! Just set your mind to it and bring back that willpower. We all fall off the bandwagon sometimes but getting back on is what makes us achieve our goals. So, go for it; you've done it before and you will do it again!! Keep us posted...

TIME OF THE MONTH & Weight Loss?

This is completely normal, don't get down about it. Like honk above, I go up and down at that time (and I also get concerned every month!) You're doing fantastic, don't let it get you down. Besides, one pound is one pound, I'll take it!!!

    Compliment - i think!

That's a definite compliment! In other words, he thinks you are looking hot and doesn't want any other guys to try picking you up! Great feeling, isn't it!! Then when he says he's going to feed you more, he's saying you're hard work is paying off. Honestly, that's the ultimate guy compliment - WAY TO GO, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! By the way, he sounds like a keeper!!

    sex drive after lapband

OMG, it went sky high!! My husband is loving it. I actually discussed it with my doctor and he said the loss of weight has given me a lot more energy and feeling better about myself has made me feel more confident. So, a huge yes, my husband and I are reaping the rewards of my weight loss!!!
  18. Honestly, it's a hard call. Good question, though, really good... I told my husband, children, and family. All have been great. I also told my secretary and I know that my benefits department at work must know (which is fine, they would never say anything!) I don't tell strangers and I wish I had just told my husband, children (they are 14 and 21), and mom. I think some people perceive it to be a crutch and expect the weight to magically disappear extremely fast. It certainly is fast but it's not overnight and, contrary to popular belief, it does take time. When people ask me how I did it, I say I limit my intake and journal everything I eat - I'm not lying I do that everyday! All that being said, this is the best thing I ever did for myself. Life has changed in such amazing ways, I'm really a different person - nicer, more understanding, loads of energy, healthy, and I LOVE the compliments and comments I get every day!!! Good luck as you begin your journey!

    Back to the Basics

All I can say is great job! You lost a lot of weight, realized you put some back on and are now doing something about it. Kudos to you!! I haven't lost as much weight as you but did regain a little back and am happy to say I lost it all! I still have about 29 pounds to go until my first large goal (98 pounds) and then it's only 30 more until I'm at goal - I can't wait! Thanks for the inspiration you have provided by sharing what happened. No doubt, you'll have it all lost soon! Good luck!
  21. Hi Everyone, I just have to share because I'm feeling so good about myself and I'm afraid it might end!! I even thought maybe there's something wrong with me I'm so happy!! Just over the past two to three weeks, it seems as if everyone has started to notice my weight loss. I've never had so much attention in my life and I can't believe the reactions I'm getting from friends, co-workers, and even total strangers!! The best by far was I met my husband for lunch and as I walked in his boss looked me straight in the face and said, "You look like a movie star!" I was flabbergasted and so unbelievably flattered. He had never seen me heavy so I thought this was really interesting. Of course, his next line was what are you doing with him (meaning my incredible husband!!!) You know guys and these guys are in the demolition business so they're pretty rough, but it just made my day! I'm even more motivated now that these things have been happening and I don't want it to end!! Just had to share this because only people in this forum would understand where I'm coming from. This side effect of losing weight (which I did solely for my health and not appearances) is just the icing on the cake!!! Have a great week everyone, Siobhan

    Feeling Great about Losing Weight!

Thank you so much everyone, it's so great hearing everyone's stories of success and knowing the challenges that we face are shared by everyone on this board! I guess that's why I love this web site... Bella Luna, I've lost approximately 67 pounds, not a heck of a lot compared to some on here but I'm thrilled! It did take me quite a while due to some complications I experienced with my gall bladder and a misdiagnosis. Everything is perfect now and I started losing again in February/March, since then I'm down another 36 pounds. I still have about 32 to go, when I mentioned this to someone, he actually said, don't be crazy you should stay right where you are!!! I know he's wrong but it made my day to hear this!!! Have a great day, all!

    What is your greatest NSV?

Awesome post!! Let's see, in order of importance, mine are: 1. No more diabetes medication 2. No more cholesterol medication 3. No more hurting knees or back 4. My husband can't keep his hands off of me 5. Having strange men offer to buy my breakfast/lunch or tripping over themselves to open the door for me 6. Having a business aquaintance ask me how I keep my figure (she just met me and had no idea I had been very heavy! I did tell her my story...) 7. Having my husband's boss tell me I look like a movie star!!!! I loved reading what everyone wrote, great idea on a feel-good thread!
