    Liquid Jumpstart?

Sounds Good to me! I went for a fill today and was bummed to see that I have regained 6lbs during the holidays! Which puts me under the original 50lb mark! UGH! So I started the liquids today as always after a fill, but I am game to try the 1-2week liquid jump start! I really want to get these last 30lbs off by my 40th bday which is in September! Good Luck to both of us!

    Cash Patient Fill Costs???

:smile2::thumbup:Hello! I am also a cash patient, however I get one year of fills and office visits included in the price! After that, I will have to pay $75 for office and if I need a fill, then it is $150. Good Luck in your new band life! I Love it!

what were u eating 3-4 weeks post op?

Hello! I was on liquids for 3 weeks, then I progressed to yogurt, cream of wheat and lots of soups! I then started adding salads and chicken. I am 10 months out post-op and pretty much still eat alot of soups. I try to make them homemade and then blend them into a thicker consistency. I also do alot of chili and beans. If I go out I usually just order an appetizer or I share with my hubby. My favorite snack is kettle popcorn. My best advice is to always eat slow and chew chew chew! If I get overly hungry and dont go slow, that is when I run into trouble. I also wait 30-45 min. to drink after a meal, it can be pretty scary and painful if not! Best of luck to you in your new lapband journey!

How many CCs do you have?

I also have 7.25 in a 10cc! I am also losing 1-2lbs per week! I am scheduled for my next fill on the 23rd of June. I am still not sure if I should get one or not? Some days I can't eat and some days I can. I try to stay well hydrated and take my vitamins, But I am very pleased with my results so far! I almost down 50lbs and was banded 9/12/08! Good luck to all of us BANDSTERS!
  7. I was banded on 9/12/08 and so far I am down 36lbs! I have gone down from a size 16 to a size 12, however my pysche still feels like a size 16. I rewarded:thumbup: myself with a personal trainer for christmas and try to go to the gym 3-4 times a week. I feel that the exercise has definitely made a huge difference in my body shape! I hope we all continue on our path to success and we will catch up on our 1year bandiversary! Good Luck to All!

    Dr. Atkinson & Dr. Soong

I had Dr. Soong do my surgery back in Sept of 08! I am very pleased with my decision to have him be my doctor. I loved the fact that he gave me his email and was available to answer all of my questions in those first few days after. He was very encouraging and would respond within 24 hours! Good Luck to you in your decision and your journey!

    Banded March 3rd, 2009

Hello! I was also banded by Dr. Soong, last year 9/12/08! I can't believe 6 months have allready gone by! I have lost 34lbs so far! 46 more to go! How are you feeling? This website has been really instrumental for me. Make sure whatever you do, listen to your Doctor and make sure you dont eat until you are told you can do so. I know I was on liquids for 2.5 weeks and then I gradually proceeded. Did Dr. Soong give you his email? He is really good about answering any question you might have pretty quick! Once again I wish you the best and welcome to bandlife! OBtech 89117:thumbup:

    Lap Band, Sept 08..??

:thumbup:Hello to you all! I was banded on Sept 12,2008. I am currently down 31lbs. I too wish it were faster, but as someone stated before, atleast it's not coming back. I gave myself a personal trainer for christmas, and have faithfully been going to the gym 3 x per week. I can definitely tell when I try on old clothes, but sometimes I just can't see it. I have become overly obsessed with weighing myself! UGH! I hope you all continue in your success and that by Sept. 09 we will be all a little closer to our goals! Good Luck! ObTech:wink2:

    What is First?

Hi, I too had a BMI of 36. I am 5'5 and was 220. Just like you I did not have any health related issues, but plenty of emotional issues. I have been struggling for the last 15 years with my weight gain. I struggled with endometriosis and therefore was on tons of hormones and several surgeries to have children. Fast forward to 2004 I had to have my uterus removed. This past march I once again had surgery to remove my ovaries. Thus hormones again. From March to September I put on 22 more pounds, putting me at my all time high of 220. My husbands insurance offers no WLS coverage, and my insurance said I wasn't heavy enough. I also looked into the Mexico thing, but when I seriously thought it over, the fear and the thought of not having my Dr. in town quickly changed my mind. I decided to go to a seminar in my town and within 4 weeks I was on the O.R. table having my band put in. Now as far as costs, I decided to apply for care credit and was approved within 60 seconds online. My surgery cost me 15,500, this includes preop, postop, and fills for one year. Now don't get me wrong, I am in no way not condoning going abroad for surgery, however when I went to the seminar, the surgeon clearly stated that he would not touch any patient who went abroad for a band placement due to liability issues. I have also heard of Dr.s in the states charging up to 3,000 to become your postop doc here in the states. Thats when it became clear to me, that it truly was not worth it for me. As far as the band is concerned I could not be happier. This has been the best decision in my life. I have lost 17lbs since 9/12/08 and am looking forward for my first fill so that I can continue going downwards on the scale! I wish you the best of luck in your decision, and may you also become a bandster very soon! ObTech 89117
