  1. Hey I was sleeved on the 7th and I’m down only 25 lbs and I’ve been beating myself up about it. Especially when I hear people have lost 30-40 pounds a month out. I’ve been exercising and portioning food. I did have my menstrual cycle which caused me to stall a few days, but since that has passed I seem to be trending in the right direction. I would say just continue to do what you’re doing, get that Protein in and liquid intake. It will happen. Also, starting today I’m going to weight myself weekly vs daily. Trust I know exactly how you feel.

I was discharged on March 8th. The pain will ease up as time goes by. Today I was able to driver. One step at a time. Have Tylenol on deck. How are you doing with the liquid in take? I promise the pain will ease up. Yesterday was the first day I showered since the surgery. Trust me you’re going to be ok. Stay hydrated and rest so your body can heal.

  3. Good for you! I just had my March 7th and getting discharged today. Liquids were hard at first but much better today. Yeah it’ll be a challenge but stay strong! I think the Chinese stores make pretty good broths. Try that next time! It’s certainly not going to be a walk in the park but I’ll get easier as time progresses. You got this!

I wish you speedy healing and great success!

I am having VSG on March 3rd. I am self-pay so opted to have surgery at Endohospital (endobariatric.com) with Dr Alvarez. His surgical fee is almost twice the average of most of the procedures in Mexico but his CV is most impressive. Medical Tourism made me nervous so I did extensive research. Being an active International Member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and a Member of International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) helped ease my concerns.

I am supposed to start my one week pre-op liquid only diet on Friday but opted to start early (Tuesday)....so far so good. It is always interesting to hear the variations of protocols of different surgeons/programs but we all have the same objectives....improved health and getting the monkey off our backs! Keep us posted on your progress!

Wishing you the best of luck today!

I bought the tiny forks and spoons from Amazon - and have started using pre-surgery. I am also considering a hand blender

I got the required Vitamins, a blood pressure machine just because I have high blood pressure, definitely full body shape wear, bowls measured in ounces, a heated blanket, Biotin and collagen for Hair loss, and a few other things. I’ll start to rack up on sugar free products between this weekend and next. All in all I think we’re ready. I know my husband and children are tired of hearing it, definitely feels good to have someone to chat with about all of this. I also signed up for a gym membership and ordered hand weights.

  6. Nice! I started replacing 1 meal with the shakes. So far not too bad. Tomorrow I’ll be going full throttle. Nervous and excited. Do you have everything you need like Vitamins, heating pad, portion sized bowls,? I’ve added a bunch of stuff to my Amazon cart, but I have one last meeting with my surgeon tomorrow before March 7th. I’m going to ask if all of the stuff I have is really necessary. Lol

I have been doing the same thing. I have even watched the surgery performed on YouTube from beginning to end so I can be mentally ready as well. I'm in the Essex County area.

Right! I don’t know many people who have had it. I’m just praying everything goes well. I did have my gallbladder removed a few years ago, in which my doctor explained a similar procedure is used. If it’s anything like that I think for the surgery part we should be fine. Once we get through the first month, we should be ok! Trying to remain optimistic 😊

  8. My surgery is March 7th. I’m super nervous, I find myself going down the rabbit hole with watching YouTube and Tik Tok videos on VSG transformations. I’m very nervous and I’m attempting to mentally prepare myself but I know I won’t be able to really realize how much effort this will take until it’s in motion. What area are you guys in/area the surgery was/will be performed? I’m in the Bergen County area.
