    Not feeling my restriction

Yes, once you feel that tightness - that's your restriction. Meals should not take more than 30 minutes to consume and not be more than 2 ounces in portion. I was forcing myself to eat a full cup of yogurt around 3 weeks because I was trying to get all my protein in and my nutritionist strongly advised that was way too much (a cup of yogurt is typically about 5 oz) But you lose the most weight in the beginning and also don't have that hungry feeling so take advantage of it! Stay disciplined through the beginning and it will pay off! The first 4 weeks is the hardest but it gets better! Good luck!
  2. I am currently 5 weeks post op and have found that I am way more happy about the non-scale victories than I am with losing pounds. So, I thought that I'd make a forum where we can all celebrate our non-scale victories! Whether it be wrapping a bath towel fully around you, getting in your car when someone else has parked too close, or maybe even that you did 20 minutes on the treadmill for the first time ever! Let's celebrate these wins!

    2 week pre-op diet help!

The pre-op diet is made so that it shrinks your liver enough for them to safely do the procedure. By cheating, it can cause complications with surgery and also make it harder on you after the surgery. I know this isn't the answer that you want and you're going to see where some people don't even have to do a pre-op diet but trust your surgeon and take a protein shake or something else from your list to Thanksgiving so that you won't be tempted. Temptations are going to be there not just for Thanksgiving but every day after your surgery. Good luck ❤️
  4. While any reason or concern we have is completely valid, the pro's outway the con's. Yes, you have to change the way you eat forever but with the strict diet phases over the first 4-8 weeks, you learn everything you need to know. The first month is the hardest. I was worried I wouldn't be disciplined enough to follow it but after 80% of your stomach is removed you really don't have a choice but to follow it. By the time your body allows you to tolerate more, you're already set up with those healthy habits. You can do this!
