Hi all! Looks like you're all doing fairly well! I had my 8 week post op yesterday and I am down 46 lbs (from 259 to 213) and 8 BMI (44 to 36)! I've slept the last few nights without my CPAP, too! I feel absolutely great and regret nothing. Now that I am on a general diet I've had to remind myself to eat slower. A couple of times I ate too fast so the food was stuck, causing me to vomit it back up. I'd like to say that I've learned my lesson, but some habits are hard to break.

    Non-scale victories:
    Weaning off CPAP
I can cross my legs (lol)
I fit in the non-plus size section (woo-hoo!)
    Much more energy

    hello there!
I am 6 weeks out, and have lost about 18 lbs.
I lost 7 lbs the first week, then nothing for 3 weeks. I just continued on the plan, although felt very frustrated. And now i'm losing about a pound every day or two.
I'm sure you'll get there too!! Keep on the good path!

Hi everyone! My VSG was done on July 28. I would love to stay connected to people on a similar timeline as well. Is anyone else experiencing hunger? I felt it immediately in recovery in the hospital and it is real stomach growling hunger. I am taking my PPI. I think I’m weighing myself too much (daily) and am at the 3 week stall. Wish you all good luck.

I hear everyone who is fed-up with the Protein shakes! I bought a 12 pack of the ‘liquid drink variety—Protein20, or Something like that because I just couldn’t tolerate the taste of the shakes constantly. These aren’t that much better because they’re kind of sickeningly sweet but the strawberry flavor is passable if I drink one every few days. They have 20 g of protein each.
last night I had cream of broccoli Soup, but I didn’t know how much to have because it wasn’t indicated in my program manual. So I slowly ate 4 ounces and it didn’t seem to bother me. Does that sound about right? I did pour a small Amount of the Unjury chicken broth Protein Powder in it and it didn’t Ruin the taste, thankfully.
Question: Has anyone used the plain protein powders by adding them to Soups or yogurt or pudding, etc, in order to maintain protein levels for each day? If so, which brand? I will do anything not to have to drink the shakes twice a day. Thank you.

Hey y'all. I just wanted to post a Three-week update.
I feel good. Pretty much normal even. Except, of course, with a smaller stomach capacity Incisions are fully closed. The small ones look good and only the largest still has any leftover scabbing. I'm trying to stay positive since I've lost more than 20 pounds since surgery. But my weight loss progress has slowed more than I thought it would this early. Maybe it's the third week stall we keep hearing about. W1: -12.6 lbs W2: -5.6 lbs W3: -2.6 lbs My conservative diet plan sucks, but it improves a little this week, since I can add cottage cheese, shredded cheese, Beans, canned fruit and some specific well-cooked veggies (only carrots and asparagus look appetizing). I am logging everything. I am getting 80-100g of Protein, 50-90 oz of water/fluids, and 650-750 calories daily. I have not done great on my steps/walking/exercise, but plan to fix that this week now that things at work has calmed a bit. I have now lost a total of 48.6 lbs since I started losing weight in late March when I had my "Oh Hell No!" moment and contacted the surgeon's office. I am feeling pretty good about that.
