  1. OMG>..i love Pasta too..but, the troubling thing is is that since I've been banded, I've only eaten a little but not so little that it has caused a drastic weight change. However, I suggest if you want to get good results you have to leave those foods alone. Focus on foods with high nutrients and that way you won't go wrong. No need to track calories..I learned that that stuff just gets frustrated so I realize..if I'm conscience of everything that goes in mouth..I don't have to worry too much bout anything coming back out directly after consumption. You get me? Ididn't want to get to graphic for those of us with weak stomachs lol..but, overall I'ma junk food junkie and a Pasta fanatic..So, these are the things still to this day I'm striving to leave a lone..but, first things first is setting goals..I'm going or working on a 40 day fast of staying committed...which includes:

Leaving soda, junk, and pasta alone

    Drinking plenty of Water

Making sure to excercise at least 3 (cardio work outs) days a week and possibly two days of small strength training

    Track weight loss and measurements.

Find a job as this fast encourages my weight loss along with my spirituality..or strengthens my relationship with God, honestly you can't have one without the other..cause God will see you through this difficult process..take it one day at a time..and don't let one days mess ups become an annual thing....start over and over until you can't start over no more and just decide to STICK WITH IT! Good luck everyone! God bless

The hardest thing that I have given up is pasta! I love pasta! Pasta everything...but, my band doesn't like it! It has been a blessing in disguise for me though. My body hates sugar/carbs and pasta is full of both. Sooooo, while I miss it, I am much better off without it! ;)

  2. So, I'm back in the gym doing my routine work outs since I've graduated from school and currently looking for a full-time job. However, I am trying to figure out..what will prevent this soreness in my body. Yesterday, I went to a work out session offered through my church..it was about 1.5 hours of work outs...Well, I'm going to the gym T, W, Th, and Friday...not sure exactlyl if I'm damaging anything..or if I'm simply warming up those unused muscles that haven't been FULLY and completely worked out in about 6-8 months. Yes, I said 6-8 months. Sad, but honesty is the key to a successful you. Well, I haven't gained weight. but, I'm loosing slowly...so please tell me what do I need to do to prevent body soreness before and after my 30minutes to 1 hour workouts I anticipate on doing per day..(or at least 5 weekdays)

  3. Where can you find this Chinese green tea and that information that you've provided online?

I always drink Chinese green tea to lose my excessive amount of weight of the body.Green tea reduces weight very quick and burn almost 200 calories in a day.It also prevent the fat cells of the body.

  4. yeah I really agree with you skinnylinds..maybe my fills are the problem..because I've only had two since my surgery..and I don't think its been very tight...enough..I mean, I have only lost a whopping 5lbs in a year! I had the motivation to work out..but, I attend UIUC in Champaign..I'm currently a Women's Studies student trying to get into a nursing program...However, my motivation is hard..but, a professor told me that taking a novel (trashy novel..haha..or something you would like to read in your spare time) to the gym would be great because you are motivated to read that book because you want to know what's going on...if it is good...so, I think once I jump back on the "band' wagon...this is what I will be doing as a motivation to get me to the gym..my gyms are free as well...do you have a list of nursing schools that accept non-nursing degree students? I want to eventually go into nursing..I will hopefully be applying to Rush university's nursing program in the summer of 2010...so, wish me luck...please..how's the nursing going for u thus far?

  5. HI you all! I've been using Mega T for awhile. It really helps curve my hunger unlike any other peel. I'm not too sure as to what doctor's think about it because I haven't seen my doctor to talk about it yet? However, i was wondering if you all knew the setbacks and things that might not go to well with this metabolism enhancing peel. Also, about whey protein...If I make a whey Protein Shake for two days..do you all think that this is a pretty sweet deal or no? Is whey Protein useful? The good thing about Mega T is that is was $4 dollars at Wal-Mart when I first got it, and it really curves the appetite. If you all have professional knowledge about this..please let me know..

  6. I don't have a personal gym but my apt. building has a gym in it. I go there and get on the treadmill. I'm not too concerned bout the muscle workouts..I'm more concerned with the cardio slash fat workouts. Hopefully, they're successful. I really haven't noticed the progress, but I know i'm progressing. Good luck! I think I'm going to try the Turbo Jam Dances! I love to dance..So, I just might find that a bit more useful.

  7. OMG..MississippiGirl..you were banded on my bday! I can't believe it! I'm happy for you for that reason and because of the big decision you made! It could possibly be your caloric intake.

    Hi fellow banders:

    :)

I have been exercising for the last 9 days and have gained 4 pounds. At first I started out and could only do 20 minutes of cardio...by the third day I pushed it up to 40 minutes with the last 3 days at 45 minutes. I'm eating healthy; following the rules! :)

I was banded in Oct. 08. I have lost 41 pounds and this is my first time really exercising since surgery.

Can anyone share their trials of just starting out exercising and did this happen to you? How long did you exercise and what types of things did you do? Do you think it is ok to do cardio everyday?

    In desperate need of motivation!!

  8. Girl...Hey, thats right! Look out ladies..naw..just playing..I understand what you mean...but, I realize there's one guy i need..he's been with me through thick and thin..but, you know..they still betta hold on to they man once they see me...ya diggggggg! lol..however, I was a big drinker..but, i realize they don't have any weight loss drinks so I stop that..lol..but, i don't be on here that much but I do be on facebook..I have a myspace I'm about add you in amin. My Facebook thing is Precious BeautyisEbony Mcclendon

  9. Girl..thanks for that..I needed that..I know some days I feel as if my band..doesn't want anything..I also realize that if i consume less calories a day..I'll be ok. Don't you think? What is your avg. caloric intake? I'm trying to learn my body now...it ain't easy..definitely not easy! :) lol..but, its manageable. Make sure you add me to your friend's list. I'm so happy for you. Seeing your successful makes me hopeful. I had a few..(many) lol..setbacks..I'm better not. Focused. I have supportive people in my life and the non-supporters which makes me push even harder to proove them wrong. Thanks for your support!

  10. I have a question about milk...I don't drink skim milk but I drink milk with less than 6 grams of fat..is that alright? I drink milk with cereal all thetime.. and yes, it goes straight through you..I truly don't like oatmeal EVERYDAY...but, I know it is good for me....so what am I suppose to do about that....? I mean...help!!!lol

  11. Hey Guys! Hey Cali W...whoo-hooo for nursing. I am a 20 year old Christian college student. I attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign full-time. I'm very happy about it. School is awesome when you aren't particularly allowing yourself to be stressed out and things of that nature. I am a current major in Gender and Women's studies. Hopefully, I can get a job after college (Undergrad that is) and be like a mentor at a youth or group home or something along those lines. If I go on to do this or not, I'm going to enroll in a nursing school. Hopefully UIC in chicago or Loyola in Chicago as well. Wish me well ladies! This weight battle has been very difficult though considering the fact that its expensive in time and money to actually control and measure calories. Tell me ladies and Gents...How do you all manage? Oh and hats of to the facilitator of this thread!

  12. Hi, I don't know if I have a band slippage or not..this is my full liquid period..I have two more days before full liquids..I've missed two appointments...but, I will see my doctor tomorrow morning. I was wondering if it was at all possible for me to know how if I am (LORD FORBID) experiencing a lapband slippage...I have a pinching pain or it feels like a a shorter version of a charlie horse...(cramping pains in an arm or specifically a leg FOR ME) ...its directly under the scar where my port is located..it feels like I'm using those muscles too much thats all..but, if any of you have had this feeling let me know..b/c I'm trying to figure it out...if its nothing...plz reassure me..I know that sometimes..ppl don't have symptoms..but, I don't vomit..although I haven't had a fill anyway...yet..tell me something plz:unsure::mad2::unsure::smile::unsure::):huh2::huh2::huh2:

  13. well, my sharp pain lasted 3-4 days...so its different..and the reason for it is gas...but, I just had my surgery on August 6,2008 and i feel great!

a bit hungry..which is normal...but, being that this is my 7th day..i feel like I kinda got a hang of it...

    ITs getting there.

  14. hey you all..I'm 19 ina month I'll be twenty so I joined this forum...But, i had a question..to any of you who have had this for awhile I need some answers and some help..I've ate like 3 slices of pieces small bites of fish and 2 fries during my liquid full and clear liquid stage and this is day 6....everything else has been right..I'm taking my meds..I'm eating the appropriate things...and the appropriate servings...these were the only problems I had

  15. i agree with taking it slowly...I live in a family building and my granny lives upstairs everyone comes down to see me. Main thing is you don't want to risk misplacing anything by walking up stairs using muscles that haven't healed completely. Also, you have to just take your time..if it means going up the stairs slowly then so be it..babes...key thing is healing..I was banded August 6,2008 at around 9am..was done by ten and left the hospital by 2:30pm...they had to get my heart rate down and I had to really wait for the doc to make his rounds..but, take it easy..we are all in this together to come out strong..and much better
