It sounds like fun. I will probably come up on Friday so we'll have all day Saturday to shop and visit and eat. PinkyLee is in Michigan right now, but I'm sure she will be game for that. If we can find a good sports bar for Barbara12 maybe we can talk her into coming. Eating too much since my unfill. DH's son is in town for a visit and we've hit all the good restaurants. Leaves tomorrow and I'll have a few days before we leave for Charlotte and the wedding. Got to stop eating and get back in control.
  4. OK Panera's sounds good. I'll see you about 6:15. I'll be wearing my black pjs from Tai Chi. I have been eating non stop since yesterday. DIck's son is in and we have hit all the good restaurants. Going to La Villa tonight, but heaven knows what I'll eat. I'm stuffed to the gills.

Wow what a change!!!!!! You look amazing. I've heard of Frisco. The meeting is September 15th. I'll look for hotels in that area. That sounds like fun. You had quite a scare Mamma. Glad your son is OK. Sometimes they surprise us with their maturity and what they can do without us. Give him a little rope and see what he does.
  6. 13th works for me. I go to Tai Chi so it will need to be 6:15. Let me know where you want to go. There is Panera's where we could get soup and salad, Applebees has low cal dinners, Chillis is OK, and the new Mexican restaurant that is a chain. I can't remember its name.

Lisa that's interesting. That doesn't happen that way for me. When I'm having an "attack" it lots of PBs. I slime terribly and then start hacking. Sometimes, but very rare, do I throw up food. Doing great now that I had an unfill. I try to watch what I eat, but I do get hungry. We have two big weekends filled with activities and travel. Hopefully I won't get too carried away. Hope everyone else is doing well.

The reason they don't say its throwing up is because you are not throwing up food from the lower stomach that is mixed with gastric juices. A productive burb is usally just slime and foam from the body trying to heal itself. If you do throw up, with gastric juices, that is throwing up. Thus the difference in the terms.
  9. Can't make dinner. Dick's son will be in town for a very short visit. Have fun.

Check out those digital photo frames. That are so neat and lots of fun. You can put "albumns" together and play them like a slide show with music. The costs are coming down. DH got two of them on Ebay for $72 and they hold 2,000 pictures without the memory stick. I think I have gall bladder or esphogus something. I am great today and can eat normal. I'll have some tests run after things settle down. I have had polups removed from my stomach when they gave me anti-inflamatory drugs. Maybe I'm just too sensitive. One of my friends on another thread read somewhere on this board about someone else having the same type of problem. I'll try to find that thread and find out more details. A couple of weeks ago when it happened it was after I ate my "safe" queso. It must have had enough spice to cause a reaction. The next time it was with a margarita. The hamburger patty probably had more fat in it then I've eaten in a long time. I think this is the clue. I just have to put it all together. I asked the doctor the last two times I saw him, but I think he thought I was just crazy.
  11. Betsy you are soooo funny. Dick brought home the EAS for me. It is really, really good. Especially the chocolate fudge. With 20g of Protein you get a lot. The strawberry is good, but not as good as the fudge. Not sure I would add all that other stuff. Too healthy. Yes I definitely think its in the esphogus or gall bladder. I think I'll get some tests run after I settle down some. I go back to my GP in September so I'll talk it over with her then. I need to do my colonscopy as I will be a year late in September. I feel so much better today. We went to La Villa for dinner. I ate my way through it nicely.
  12. Just returned from getting a .3 unfill. My band looked good they said and the position was spot on. I don't know why I react like this. It must be something else in my esphogus. Anyway, I'm back to where I was when I was in Vegas except I'm a .1 less. They took out .2 and I still felt a little funny. It was probably nerves and swolen esphogas, but I had them take out another .1. I just couldn't go through anymore. Last night I had one teaspoon of a shake and started PBing again. I don't know if it was too cold or too hot or not just right, but that is all I could take. I really think I have something else. I noticed I can't take an kind of spicy foods. I really don't try, but even my safe queso started giving me problems a couple of weeks ago. I guess I'll let all of this settle down and then go in for some kind of test. I'm through with fills though. No more for me. I'll just have to resort to counting calories and watching what I eat. I'll try to be more dilegent in portion control. And no I'm not normal in any way. Especially when it comes to fills/unfills! I think there is probably something else going on with me that aggravates the band. Oh well, the drama is over I hope. I can get back to my life and to this program.

  14. No hot liquids don't always help. I've finally gotten a protein drink down and some soup. I'll take it easy as I have a full day tomorrow before I can leave work to have an unfill. I'm just not going to deal with this anymore even if I do open up. This happens way too often and takes such a toll on me.
  15. Dick and I stopped for a hamburger yesterday. 13 hours of PBing has told me never to do that again!!!! I was just trying the meat, but that was a no go. This one has scared me enough to get an unfill. I'll wait until Monday to go to surgicenter instead of emergency room. I almost went last night, but after 13 hrs I stopped. I have tried a few sips of water and 1/3 of protein drink. Its taken me all day to get that far. Not going for any fills after this. This will have to do for me. Hopefully, they can take out only .2 or .3 and get me flowing again.

Hubby and I went for a hamburger yesterday afternoon. I got about 2 oz in before i stopped. No bun or anything just the meat. We got home and I started PBing. I went on for 13 hours. THis was the worst ever. I was going to the emergency room, but feared they wouldn't know what to do. I haven't tried anything yet this morning. I'll see if some room temperature water is going to go down. I think this is it for me and this fill. I need to get some out and get the band checked for placement. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Thursday night went to our favorite Mexican restaurant. Had two sips of a margarita and started gurgling. Left restaurant after 15 minutes of that and hubby brought my food home. An hour later I was able to eat. Friday I could eat anything and everything. I just can't tell with this fill what is going on. Laying low today so I don't have problems and don't get out of control!
  18. Nothing much to add to what Betsy has said. Everyone is individual in what works and what doesn't. Also, safe food for one month might not be safe another month. The variable here is the fill, your tollerance for the fill, how much fill, etc. Then once you get that figured out comes the length of time you have the band, spicy versus bland food, acid reflux may come back after a year's absence, etc. There are some general things like follow YOUR doctor's instructions, your doctor will be your aftercare so pick your doctor wisely, don't go with what other's say as your doctor's program is what you are following. You will get to know your band better than your doctor and will understand what you can and can't do. I for the most part could eat in the morning, noon, and night. I now can't eat in the morning and I've had my band just over a year. Things change and we must change with it, but portion control remains one of the biggest issues. You can take in far more calories than you realize when you go for soft or liquid foods. They don't keep you full so you go for something else. Hard to learn and understand. Continued good luck with your pending tests. Hopefully you will be joining us in bandland soon.
  19. Welcome Dee. Glad you found us. Two of our members live in Huffman. I live in Atascocita Shores and BikerGrammy lives off of 59. We have another one that lives in Crosby. We try to meet every two weeks at a nearby restaurant for conversation, support, and a little food. Hope everything checks out and you can join us in bandland. Ask away. We'll try to answer questions as best we can. We all need support and help along the way.
  20. Whew Betsy you sure don't lack for excitement! I have a good laugh at your stories while feeling sympthay as well. Maybe its the way you tell the "bad" things. I'm doing well this week. Back to able to eat way too much. I went to Tai Chi Monday and Wednesday. Yeah for me. Now I need to go to Curves a few times. Hope everyone is doing better. Lana are you all moved? Suzanne how are you and the potassium count? Betsy I hope things even out for you soon.

OK went to Tai Chi twice this week. Yeah for me. Now I need to go to Curves a few times. I'm doing well on eating. No more problems since Sunday. I seem to be back to normal, which is I can eat too much. I think my esphogus was swollen maybe from spicy food. Not sure, but that's what I figure at this point. It set me up and then I got on a roll with the PBs. I'll see how the rest of the week plays out. Hope everyone else is doing well.
  22. I like our dinner get togethers. It keeps it real for me. If we go out to a "fancy" place then I would want to go with DH. We could go on a Friday or Saturday night. There are several new restaurants in the area I would like to try, including the new ones on the water at W. Lake Houston.

Pick an area in Dallas where there are restaurants and good shopping. I might as well do some wallet damage while we're there! It doesn't hurt when I eat Poodles. Most of the time I don't feel anything. When I get stuck that's something totally different.
  24. I loved my cruise and we're booked on another one since banding. I did notice that after a drink I was wide open and could eat more. Now I don't recommend that, but it does help at dinner when you want to "try" a few bites of different things. I liked the fact that you could go to the casual eating place for Breakfast and lunch. That helped me because my husband could eat and I could enjoy the company of our friends. I didn't feel like anyone was watching what or what I wasn't eating. Cruising is great and the band was well behaved. I do noticed when I fly that my band tightens. I just try to remember that and deal with it the best I can. Congrats on your weight loss and your new wardrobe.
