Candigrl1 got a reaction from summerseeker in Stalls??
I really wish more doctors and Nutritionist would give more detailed info on stalls. Mine only gave us a paper saying stall will happen with a pic of a staircase. I would think this board would see a lot less posts on stalls if they only explained it better.

Candigrl1 got a reaction from KimA-GA in I was gonna gripe
But now I'm not. I was super pissed about being in yet another stall, pissed I haven't lost any more weight. Extremely pissed about the amount of pain I am in. Pissed that I ran into coworkers and friends, one of which accused me of lying about getting the surgery. (sigh)
Then in today's true fashion I open up Facebook and find out a close relative just passed. There went my opportunity to see her again. There went opportunity to hang out and do some fun stuff and spend quality time with her. We always think there is plenty of time left but sometimes there's not. I decided my petty issues were just that...petty. Time to focus on what's in front of me and having this surgery is allowing me to do things I couldn't a year ago.

Candigrl1 reacted to SleeveToBypass2023 in Holy weight loss, Batman!!!!!!
As of today, I am exactly 3 1/2 months post sleeve surgery and have lost 61 pounds!!!! I can't believe it!!! I still feel like I'm fighting for every pound, but I also knew PCOS would do that to me. Still, I'm so so happy that I hit that weight. I know it's going to get tougher the more time that goes by, but the fact that I'm losing and not putting the weight back on is huge!!!! I'm so excited. My next goal is to hit 320 (that will officially put me at a lower weight than I was with Keto - even though I lost 100 pounds then, and it'll only be 67 pounds now, because I went into the surgery a lower weight than I was at when I started keto). After that, my next goal is to hit 299 and be under 300 for the first time since 2005.

I put my pants on this morning while standing up, I always had to sit down to do that. Small victory but I'll take it.

Candigrl1 got a reaction from FarfelDiego in Gonna make sure I follow the rules
I got so busy baking a pound cake for my son to take tomorrow and doing laundry that I forgot to snack. Here rolls around dinner time. I had broccoli and chicken. I ate too fast due to hunger. I got about 4 bites in and my stomach felt like it had lead in it. I then sneezed five or six times in a row and knew I ate way too fast. All I can say is oww, oww, oww.
They told me to eat slowly and I have been following that rule but not today and I paid for it. It hurt. So here I am an hour later sipping on a Protein Shake because I didn't finish eating. Gonna make sure I follow that rule particularly. Lesson learned. When they say eat slowly they are not messing around.

WOW. The point of being here is for help. If you want a basic answer, Google is your friend. The attitude isn't necessary or needed. The people here are amazing and helpful and sweet. There's many things that can affect the answer you might need. Go ask your surgeon, or Google it, or ask some rando on the street and hope you'll get an answer instead of a weird look.

Try lowering the amount of nicotine you are vaping in. So if you are at 6mg go down to 3 mg and then move on to 0 mg. That's what helped me.

That's right around where I was post operatively and then I had a stall that I think lasted for ten days and was probably the most annoying thing to happen to me. Everyone loses weight differently. Shows like My 600 Lb Life skewered my weight loss perceptions because I wasn't losing as quickly as they were; but I was never that big, either.
A few things my surgeon's office told me:
Make sure you're getting enough water-if a body is dehydrated, it will slow weight loss.
Are you hitting your Protein goals? When I'm not eating 70-80 g of protein a day, my weight loss slows down.
Vary the pace of the walk-walk slow, followed by some speed walking, followed by walking at a normal pace. Also adding in things like hills can help as well.

Don't feel bad it will come off. I loss 15 lbs my first 3 weeks out. I started at 264 and was 249 at 3 weeks and I lost nothing before surgery.

Not good, malnutrition is nothing to mess with. Get with your team and insist they figure it out before you end up in the hospital with huge problems.
Good luck!

I am able to eat fast without any issue and idk if it’s a blessing or a curse. I think it’s good that your body reminds you to eat slow so you can feel your full cues. I try to eat slow but I don’t get the painful reminders that I’m sure I would be more likely to do it for.

lol I've been there a few times. I get hiccups and the most uncomfortable pressure in the lower part of my throat. It often leads to foamies. It's been almost one year for me, and I did it just the other day on something small. Argh. A piece of plum. It's so easy to forget that we have to chew well and eat slower when everything else feels so normal.

It still happens to me at three years. Not often but sometimes there are just circumstances &/or distractions which cause you not to eat mindfully. Then your body really reminds you you’ve done the wrong thing. Groan. A couple of months back I was staying at my mother’s & we were having a ‘discussion’ and yep ate too fast & got the foamies. At least me rushing to the bathroom ended the discussion. 😉
Bet it was the plum skin that caused your experience @Tomo. Just a little too coarse & got stuck.

OMG YESS!!! Foamies!!! It was so hard to explain to my family what the feelings were. Especially when you drink wayyy to early after eating solids.

Been there lol I get hiccups and my stomach feels like it's overly full and I can't even drink because it doesn't go all the way down for a while. It just sits there.
