I'm the opposite. I'm too busy running my mouth so my eating slows way down when I'm with someone. LOL

Candigrl1 reacted to SleeveToBypass2023 in This flu has GOT TO GO!!!
Man, I haven't been able to do any kind of working out for the last 5 days because my whole house is SICK. We're all covid negative, but we have a nasty flu and stomach bug and OMG I'm over it. Been resting a lot, taking echinacea, extra vit C, Protein Shakes with extra Protein and greens (stomach bug keeping me from eating too many foods), lots of tea (green tea, white tea, oolong tea), and OTC cough and congestion meds. UGH. Not even remotely feeling Christmasy, just wanna get better. Praying this doesn't turn into pneumonia again (I've had it 5x, and I have lung damage because of it).

Candigrl1 got a reaction from cookiecutter in Water intake
This is good advice. I spent my first couple of months sipping all day. I started with the 1 oz cups and moved on to an 8 oz cup and finally 16 oz. Now I can finally get in all my Water and then some and drinking warm water helped me alot.

Candigrl1 reacted to Kelseydawn in 25 pounds down
I had my surgery on Tuesday and have lost 10 pounds since then. I lost 15 pounds on my liquid diet before surgery so 25 pounds down total. This makes me so happy.❤️

Candigrl1 reacted to ms.sss in So depressed about my hair
Hair loss is probably the number one distressing appearance-related side effect of rapid weight loss (honourable mentions to loose skin, of course).
Most, if not all, of us suffer from it. Some suffer more than others. Like the others above, I want to offer re-assurance that its mostly temporary. Little chicken hairs will start to sprout up and then in a year or two those chicken hairs will be down to your shoulders. Im my case (and some others I have read), it actually came back thicker...but i think this is also due to the fact that my overall health is better than it was before.
BUT, in the meantime, here are few couple tips to get you through this annoying stage (choose what you feel comfortable with...or none at all )
1) cut your hair shorter (i did a pixie cut at 3 months). the carpets of hair accumulating on the floor and catching in the shower drain will appear less. shorter hair theoretically will weigh less, so it will be less likely to pull down flat against your scalp and show larger swatches of said scalp. and when the chicken hairs start coming in they are less noticeable and blend in better with the rest of your shorter hair and not look so thin on the ends.
2) keep your hair clean. greasy hair will flatten and mat against your scalp which will show more of it (BUT don't Shampoo too much...and that's for everyone, not just those losing their hair!)
3) I think I see what looks like a braid in your hair in one of the pics above? if you can, maybe save the braids for later as the style will pull on the hair you have and possibly come out at an even faster rate.
4) there are these hair fibre "powders" that you can buy that temporarily camouflages the scalp. its basically hair coloured powder that you sprinkle on your hair to give the appearance of fullness until you wash it out later. Best results on darker hair with enough existing hair for the fibres to adhere too.
5) and for the truly brave, there is SMP (scalp micro pigmentation)..its a process whereby a tech tattoos hundreds (thousands?) of tiny little dots on your scalp to mimic hair follicles and create the illusion of fuller hair. I had this done last year because I have had the same side part in my hair since I was like 8 years old, and as the years have gone by its was noticeably thinner in that section. Full disclosure: it effing hurts. but I'm happy with the results, lol.
6) and lastly, at least for me, Vitamins, creams, lotions did nothing to stop or slow down the hair loss. i know lots of folks have sworn by some or all of these methods, so ymmv.
Good Luck, and hang it there! ❤️
P.s. sorry this was so long.

Candigrl1 got a reaction from GreenTealael in So depressed about my hair
I'm just really depressed about my hair. I knew I would lose some hair but I just didn't expect to lose so much. Even a pixie cut (which I wanted) wouldn't look right. Only saving grace is that the Hair loss has slowed down. But not gonna lie I feel at a lost.

Candigrl1 reacted to SleeveToBypass2023 in I found THE BEST appetite suppressant
As many of you know, I never lost my hunger. From day 1 I still had it. And it's made this journey harder than it needed to be. I tried a few different appetite suppressants and they did nothing at all for me. 2 weeks ago, I found one called PhenQ. I read the reviews and the ingredients and really liked how it sounded, so I bought it. I got it a week ago and have been using it everyday, and FINALLY I can say I have absolutely NO hunger!!!
I set alarms to remind me to eat, and it's amazing. It speeds up my metabolism, burns fat, and REALLY kills my appetite. I have zero cravings, zero hunger. There's a day and a night version, and I bought both. So here's how it works:
I take one pill in the morning with Breakfast (about 7:30am). I totally skip the first snack of the day because I have no hunger at all. About 4 1/2 hours after breakfast, I take the 2nd daytime pill with lunch (around noon). I skip my 2nd snack because again, no hunger at all. Then I have dinner around 5 or 5:30pm. Normally around 8:30pm or so I'm getting a bit hungry, but I take the 2 pills at night around 8pm and I'm not hungry at all for the rest of the night. I honestly don't even think about food, and I would forget to eat if I didn't have the alarms set. And that's what I wanted.
I take in about 1300 - 1350 calories per day and I work out 6 days per week for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours each day. On the day I don't work out, I take in around 1000-1100 calories. 4 days per week I do cardio and 2 days per week I do weight training.
I have never felt better or been happier, and I'm now about 1-2 weeks away from moving into size 18/20 clothes!!!! If I decide one day that I want a snack, I will have it. But having it be a choice versus always feeling hungry is what I always wanted. And now I finally have it.
I was also doing strict Keto, but decided to move to low carb versus keto. I have a carb blocker I take with my meal that is the most carb heavy (either breakfast or dinner, depending on what I have). It's called Carb Catcher by 310 Nutrition. Those, my Multi-Vitamin, my Biotin, my collagen powder, my soluble Fiber powder, my digestive enzyme with pre and pro-biotics pill, and my MS meds are all I take now. I drink my greens everyday and I eat well. And I have to say, I feel "normal" for the first time is decades. Healthy, active, and normal.

Candigrl1 reacted to catwoman7 in Cheated for the 1st time since surgery
you're seven months out now - from about this point and for the rest of your life, you're going to occasionally have days like this. It was a holiday - even skinny people tend to eat more than usual or have special treats on such days. The trick is to get right back to it the next day and don't let it continue on. Sounds like you have a good plan.

I agree with Sleeve_me_alone, it does take time. I felt the same way my first two weeks from surgery. Don't worry that energy will be back.

I think your husband needs to step up and either have her leave or tell her to knock it off.
And next time she does this...
"Instead she'll buy my favorite junk food and put it on display and keep telling me it needs to be eaten NOW."
Just say oh yea I guess it does need to be eaten, well I guess you should get on that.
Sorry...that's my 2 cents.
