Tami10 got a reaction from Possum220 in HELP!! VETS and NEWBIES What are the Surgery Basic Supplies you will need when you get home from the Hospital Please?
I would get the clear Protein waters and sugar free Popsicles and sugar free Jello I liked the chicken Soup and strained out the stuff out because you can taste the stuff in it. The clear liquid part of the diet is easier if you have a variety. I had the bypass last December I'm not sure how long you are on the clear diet is for the sleeve also maybe something to make ice or Popsicles with protein water

I'm not sure if I have bumping syndrome or not but am to scared to really find out but I don't limit what I eat just how much and what kind. I was told 9 grams of sugar per meal. I think if you take everything you like you won't be as successful at least I wouldn't. I eat bread just not a lot I eat pizza just not a lot I eat ice cream just eat the bryers carb smart. I made cake and Cookies with Monk Fruit sugar instead. I found sugar free cookies. And I think I'm doing good it's been 8 months since my bypass surgery and I'm down a 116lb and have 14 left to go.

I would think so. I called to see if my insurance covered it. But not to see if it was approved after. But if you are worried it's not going to hurt anything to call

You're right not everyone is embarrassed my point was that no one person on this journey should fell bad, embarrassed or worried about other people. And feel good about yourself and your decision. I've talked to a few people who had thought about it but were worried about their family and friends reaction including my best friend.

I vaped before surgery and had to quit prior which I did my surgeon said 8 weeks of no nicotine before but I read it takes 4 weeks had to have a negitive nicotine test before my date I will say that the good part of vaping over smoking is you change the nicotine level when I started the journey I was at a nicotine level of 6 and after my first appointment and when the bottle was empty I switched to 3 and when I got my date I switched to 0 which helped with the giving up and dosent show nicotine test because there is none. Sorry this happened my team made it very clear no nicotine and they would test for it and if I had it they would cancel it. Hope you don't get discouraged stay strong just another bump in the road it will work out. But I would switch to 0 nicotine level as soon as possible also I washed my tankard put in a new coil.

I was pretty open once the decision was made. I didn't carry a banner or anything but my close Co- workers knew, my boss knew and my family knew. Even now, if someone asks I tell. It's done, it's part of my story and if someone doesn't like it then they don't need to be apart of my story. I've always been a pretty open book to those around me.
I haven't had any negative feedback yet. My mom got this surgery 15+ years ago so it wasn't new to my family. I've lost over 50lbs since the last time my coworkers saw me, probably closer to 60lbs by the time we return to work (yay summer break) and I'm cautiously optimistic about their reactions when they see me. I don't SEE the weightloss as much as I FEEL the weightloss if that makes sense? I'm hoping they can see it😁 .

I believe it's your right to tell or not. I'm super open about it. I tell everyone I'm proud of my decision and the progress I've made. And I don't think there is anything to be embarrassed about so why hide. I've had only good feed back. My mom was worried about me but still super supportive. I don't get why we should be embarrassed. This was brave decision in my opinion if there was anyone who had bad or negative thoughts they didn't say it to me.

When I was younger I would never have thought I'd Celebrate being overweight. But I'm so excited to be just overweight and not obese or Mobidly obese. And yesterday my weight on my drivers license is right. I had it at 185 for years since I was that weight after I had my now 20 year old daughter even at 290. I am really thinking of changing the weight to my goal weight of 160 so it doesn't lie the other way.
