I started out with that exact stuff... Let me tell you one small pouch of tuna took me about an hour to eat. Just eat slow, Chew chew chew. and yes you will get full quick. 1 chicken egg scrambled is like two meals for me. I add like 2 oz of turkey sausage to my scrambled eggs.

I'm just a few days away from getting to finally eat food, 🙌. So what do y'all recommend? I know I can have scrambled eggs, can tuna, can chicken and refried Beans. I'm so over this liquid diet and I'm ready to plan a meal lol. Also, right now I can drink my weight in liquids. Will eating be different? Will I get fuller faster? I'm just trying to get a idea of how I'm might feel after actually eating.

I'm on my last day before surgery and I'm struggling to drink the shakes today. I had to gag down the 1st one this morning. I'm adding some cinnamon to my next shake in hopes it will help a little.

Hello everyone. I had RNY on May 6th, and I’m currently recovering. I cannot even begin to tell you just how much I’m looking forward to being able to sleep in my bed again. How is everyone else doing?

If you want it bad enough. I never thought I could do it but I focused on the light at the end of the tunnel, which got bigger every day. Good luck 👍

I'm feeling very good. I never had gas which was surprising. My pain was managed very well. 1 week is plenty of time off (office) work. Being on full liquids really opened my food opportunity. I think I am an exception to the rule with how well I am doing.

Well it’s been a week since my VSG surgery. I started full liquids today. So far it’s been pretty easy. I’ve lost 16 pounds already which is insane to me! I’m starting to get tired of all flavors of Protein Shakes. I’m barley in any pain as well. So far I think I’m doing great!

I just had my one week postoperative visit today. I am doing great. No nausea, no issues thus far and I’m meeting my protein/fluid intake. My doctor just approved me to go to the purée stage and I’m down 8.8 pounds in a week:)

    Hello!
I too was like you, lucky to not really have any health problems. I did have borderline high blood pressure. Also, GERD which may or may not be weight related.
But, I justified it by knowing my family genes and that my time would be coming. Everyone is my family is obese and they ALL have a list of health problems. I knew if I didn't do something to loose weight and keep it off that my day was coming. I would wake up and have all kinds of issues.
I am not about 7 weeks post-op and I have NO REGRETS!
There is also risks because because you are healthy the risks get lower.
You have to do what is right for you but I am pro surgery!

Had my surgery 5/6/22. The initial pain the first day was really bad. After about 8 hours and taking my meds it was 80% better. I am up now with gas pains but more discomfort than pain.

I’m reading a lot of things that sound like suicidal ideation in your comments. I’m a clinical social worker and should you be serious and not just grieving/processing the new lifestyle you have…

I think this person is trolling you all. I commend all of you for wanting to help this person if they are legitimate because that is what we do on here. This one seems too defiant and unwilling to consider any recommendations which just smacks of trolling. I wish this person the best if they are legit and implore them to get help right away if they are legit. But saying that they will seek help but it will not make a difference seems a little fishy. If someone does not think therapy will make a difference they simply do not go. If someone wants help they do not reject every offer of help that is provided. This post does not ring true for me. We have legitimate people on here that deserve our support and help.

I wanted to say hello to the other two desert dwellers, I'm in Tucson and having surgery with Dr. Weiner next Thursday.
Capri, I'm sorry your sister is not being supportive. My grandma who has always been thin is not very supportive, I've come to realize with age it has more to do with her than it does with me. Good luck with your decision!

I can eat about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of food at a time (I am 9 weeks post op). No I cannot physically feel like anything has been done to me. Currently, I am trying to avoid processed carbs, foods with high sodium content, and high fat foods unless it good fat like an avocado. I don't eat any bread except a extremely tiny piece (about two bites) of good sourdough bread at a nice Sunday dinner. I focus on getting my Protein in first and then eating veggies. Most of the time I cannot eat many if any veggies. Snacks are a yogurt or light string cheese with some almonds or fruit. The recovery was more painful than I had thought it would be but by day 10 or so I was almost normal. I did have a large hiatal hernia that was repaired so that is probably why my recovery took a little longer and was more painful.

You're an inspiration to me. I weigh 390 and am getting the sleeve on May 3rd, and my goal is 200. I wasn't sure if there was anyone who had the sleeve that lost the kind of weight I'm wanting to, since most get the bypass when they have an extremely large amount to lose. You give me so much hope that what I want to do is possible with the sleeve!!! You look fantastic!!!
