    Slow Losers Club…..officially *sigh*

Thank you so much. This response was really encouraging. I’m definitely going to continue to move forward. It was a step, and a great addition to my toolbox, and I know it won’t be easy, but I’m committed to staying the course. I just have to keep in mind about the small ones, like you said, and focus on the larger picture. I definitely will try to keep you updated. I truly appreciate your care and concern, it means a lot. I’m thankful for this community of support!

    Slow Losers Club…..officially *sigh*

Glad to find this thread. I’m definitely a slow loser and I’m trying really hard to stay encouraged. I was 255 my day of surgery. 6 weeks out I weighed in at 249. Not even 10 pounds. And I’m doing everything that I was instructed to do. Staying on the diet, watching my portions, tracking my meals, the 20 20 20, getting the right amount of protein, drinking enough fluid, exercising every day. I am honestly very discouraged to not see any real movement. But it is encouraging to know that I’m not alone. But I’ve definitely had moments where I wondered, what was the purpose of going through all this and getting the surgery, if almost 2 months out, I’m not even at 15 pounds weight loss? The doctors and dietitian say I’m not doing anything wrong and to be patient, but I feel it’s much easier to say that than it is to be dealing with it. Just had to vent that. Now I’m in tears smh. But I’ll keep swimming.

4 weeks post op and vomiting?

Yes I have the surgeon and the dr at the weight loss center to contact. I feel ok (slight tummy ache) other than that episode so I’m going to definitely call both in the morning. I just didn’t think (hoping) it didn’t warrant calling the on call dr. . I’ve been trying scrambled eggs for about a week and was doing ok but I agree I’m going to probably back off that for a while. I’m supposed to start soft foods this week but I don’t feel confident in doing that after today. Thank you both!
  4. Hello everyone. I am almost 4 weeks postop, I had my sleeve surgery on February 21st. In general, after the first week, I have not had any issues with vomiting. However today, I had a pretty bad episode. I ate some scrambled eggs (I’m still in puréed and I’m trying really hard to stick to the plan) , and had a lot of belching right after (is that gerd? I hope not!). About 15 minutes later I felt it coming back up and vomited everything back up. My main question is— what could have caused this? Did I eat too fast? Was it not chewed enough? Was it too much (I measured about 3.5 oz)? Could it have been a combination of all three? I’m hoping some people at or further in their timeline can help me out or share their experiences. I was also a bit concerned because I saw some bright red flecks and it was tinged pink at the end. Not alot but enough that I noticed. Is my pouch ok? Thank you all!

    February 2022 Surgery Buddies

This is unfair and I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. But I agree with a previous reply. You deserve this. You’re making a choice for YOU. Block Negative vibes out. Focus on your big day tomorrow. You got this.

    February 2022 Surgery Buddies

Hey there! We’re almost surgery buddies. I had my sleeve surgery the day before yours, definitely had some of the same issues. I had bleeding as well, it was a lot and was quite concerning. I also had a BP dip, but I’m stabilized now. I think that I am dealing with the hunger pains as well, (I don’t really know what to do about it. I’m just offering my support as someone who is also feeling it!) I’ve just been trying to note it, and either drink a broth or soup— something that at least has a good flavor. I’m hopeful that puréed food in a week or so will help with this!

    February 2022 Surgery Buddies

I’m 5 days post surgery and super excited to connect with you all. I’m struggling with a few things, namely getting in my fluids, pain management and low blood sugar issues. I spoke to my doctor today who recommended that I try some thinned out cream of wheat to add some carbs and try to keep my blood sugar at a more normal level. Is anyone else dealing with this? Also, what are you doing to make sure that you get enough fluid. I’m trying, but it just seems overwhelming and even with my small 3 ounce shot glasses, I don’t feel like I’m getting even close to 40 ounces of fluids. I’m at the high 20s, low 30s.
