    Tomorrow is the big day!!

Hey! I hope you're doing fine. I had mines done last Monday 8/4/08. I know the first couple of days can be pretty rough so take it very easy. I just returned back to work today. Relax and unwind. All yeah by the way I found out by laying on your side with a soft pillow in front of your tummy helped me a great deal when sleeping. GOD Bless!

    Tell Us About You!

Hey! It's Melolo... I'm back I had my surgery on 8/4/08. My experience was pretty much like Brad's and the thing about it is they get you up and on your feet as soon as possible. There's not too much time for laying around and sleeping after surgery. I was given some liquid so that they could test the band it's so funny to see your insides on the monitor in motion. I was also given a popsicle and I walked around some more. Still some discomfort after a week I don't like anything around my stomach. Especially where the incision for the port is located. But other then that I'm fine. I probably weighed in at 334 pounds and the time of the surgery I weighed myself this morning and the scale said 324. Wow! So I will have my 1 week since surgery appt tomorrow. I wonder what the doctor will say about the weight loss.

    Vote for the August name...

Hey! Love this poll! I think All Stars are want we are. I had my Lap Band done on Aug. 4th and have lost 10lbs:lol: I know it will slow done pretty soon but I'm happy. When you've tried to loose for so long and nothing happens and then all of the sudden 10lbs is gone just like that I'm telling you it feels good. It was a time that I thought nothing would work. I'll have my one week visit tomorrow. And I'll see what my doctor has to say about the weight loss.

    Tube during surgery??

Hi! I don't know if I would call myself a veteran when it comes to this procedure but I have been under 4 times. I'm a twice breast cancer survivor so I've seen quite a bit of the inside of a surgery room. But my Dear the only thing you will remember is being wheeled in the surgery room and waking up in the recovery room. What you may experience from where the tube is inserted is a scratchy throat feeling. What will remedy this is either cold liquids or warm liquids. I remember after my first surgery with the tube inserted they gave me hot tea and that did the trick. At first I didn't want to drink anything because of the scratchy feeling, but they threaten me with urinary catheterization because they wanted me to urinate. I still have anxiety when being put under, but I say a pray and leave it in GODs hands. No worries:thumbup:

  7. Thanks for replying. And now I realized that all the weight loss wasn't from you being banded in June. Silly me. Thanks again. I wish you much success as well.
  8. Hi! I'm sorry I don't have the answer for you. But I'm amazed that you've lost 71 pounds. How did you do that? Is there any concern? I'm happy for you I hope I can be so lucky.

    Call me a Lame but...

Hi! That is interesting I guess that's why I had to take a look and see just what this was all about. I will be banded on August 4, 2008. I will check out your blog. Not that color really matters when having this surgery. But it is nice to talk to someone that I share a little something in common with:rolleyes2:

    Tell Us About You!

Hi! My B day will be on August 4th and I'm excited. I'm married with a 12 yr old who's going on 30 (Anybody have one of these?) he will be entering the seventh grade the following week after my surgery. Yeah! Fun, Fun, Fun! GOD please give me strength. I've been interested in the Lap Band for 2 years but was with an insurance company that would not budge when it came to covering the surgery. But then GOD bless me, and at the beginning of this year my employer change insurance company. I'm not going to say that they didn't make it difficult but at least they didn't straight out say "No." So with much determination and fight I'm having surgery. I'M A TWICE BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR:thumbup: And was told I needed to lose weight in order to have breast reconstruction surgery along with Tummy Tuck. So that everything would look right. I do this also for my health and my family I want to be more active with my son. So that's my long story.
