Thanks Ezma, I hope that you've been successful as well. I love the fact that If I mess up I can always get back, and dust myself off, and try again. I use to feel like such a faluire before but once I got the Band I realize...That yes I may make mistakes but this band is still in me and I have to keep on keeping on...quoted from Gladys Knight and the Pips:lol:

    Givin' up the ice cream

Hey it's me. I'm still Three Musketeer Mint Minis free... Tapshoe, I just love the way you encourage everyone and give them some good advice. Keep up the good work. That's the kind of motivation we all need. Thanks:tt1:
  3. I'm glad to hear that...No obstacle can hold a sistah down. I was banded 8/4/08.
  4. I'm not telling you who my Doctor is but believe me we got everything straight on the first visit. I'm sorry that you're having problems but if it's out of your control then kick down some doctor office doors. Peace
  5. Ok...I'm going to respond to you even though you attacked me personally by calling me out on how I was raised and all that crap. If you've read my post I didn't say they didn't try their best to do that... I asked questions just like you've asked. I do have a problem with people laying blame somewhere else. It's time for us to stop being a victim... LapBandFree said that she was miserable for 3 years. Why??? I still ask the question after three years what did she finally do to get herself out of that situation:blink: What finally got her to say enough is enough. Then I'll like to ask her could she had done whatever it is that she did sooner than wait for three years.:w00t: Please tell me since you're so ready to bring me down as the villian where did I say that no one would have a bad experience:huh2: Please point out to me where did I say that no one will have a bad experience. What I said and what I will continue to say is that you should be more aggresive, accountable and responsible when it comes to your health. If you have to knock down office doors to get medical attention then "Dang it" that's what you should do. It's your body. You got to say enough is enough. I'm through. Peace to you. I don't know if you've been banded. But I hope you go into this with you eyes wide open and ready to do your part to make it work for you. And please don't take my last statement as a dig towards anyone else. This is to the person I'm responding to.
  6. Hi, I'm a (as you put it) a newcomer or newbie which I still don't understand why it makes a difference...because I am living with the band as I type this post. I don't believe I was freaking out (if your comment was directed at me) I believe that the people who have had problems with their bands were the one getting defensive when asked why didn't they take more of an agressive aproach to solving whatever problems that they experienced. Like I said before my postings were directed at LAPBANDFREE but for some reason people took it upon themselves to make the comments a personal attack on them. I look at this as a learning experience because I should have pay a attention to the warning when someone referred to LAPBANDFREE as a possible troll in the ealier post. LESSON LEARNED. I welcome both the pros and cons on any subject in fact if you read my post I said that people should make sure that they get ALL OF THE FACTS not just the good happy la la la side. Educate yourself when it comes to your health. Maybe some of these people that had the bad experience just wanted to hear the good and didn't seek to hear the cons of this procedure and maybe they feel bad about it and want to blame someone else for where they drop the ball. But please understand this I make sure that I don't get caught in all the hype without knowing every expect of a procedure. Even going into surgery and being put under is a great risk. Maybe it's because I've had to deal with an illness twice that could've taken my life. I had to learn at an early age how to take more of an aggressive aproach when comes to my health. I make sure that I have all of my questions and concerns answered when I make the decision to go through with a procedure or treatment... I also make it my priority to see it through and do whatever it takes on my part to make it work. Doctors are not perfect. That's why I don't leave it all to them to get me well or reach my goal in getting healthy. I did this to myself. I'm responsible. So why should I not be just as responsible in making sure that the solution I've chosen works for me. I picked the Lap Band and I'm going to do everything in my power to make it work. If dosen't you better believe me I will not post some thing like "Lap Band-don't do it!! Scarred for life." Because it may work for someone else if it dosen't work for me. So why not give that person a chance to explore everything about it instead of scarring the HECK out of them. Tell them about your experience and then encourage them to seek more knowledge about the Lap Band. I'm sorry if it came off as if I don't want anything negative said about the Band. Heck my last name isn't Band and they're not giving me commission to represent. I'm just here to encourage fellow Lapbanders to be accountable, responsible, aggressive or however you want to word it when it comes to their Lapband journey. Peace! SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE BREAST CANCER SUVIVORS !
  7. Hi Poohprecious, Sistah, I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your band. My prayers go out to you and I will most definitly call your name in my prayer tonight. But you know our DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER HAS SOMETHING DIFFERENT IN MIND FOR YOU. I wish you the best and know that we're still your sistahs in spirit and support. We can can still lift each other up no matter what. Can I get an AMEN! :crying:
  8. Congrats!!! I'm very happy for you. :crying: I remember how happy I was and how anxious I was too. I called all the people that I told I was having surgery and they kind of responded like your house did but it's all good. Once the weight starts coming off they'll get in the groove of things. I'll pray for your health and weightloss.
  9. Hey Carrie_C I don't want you to think I was attacking you personally. I don't know what you're doing in trying to find a solution to your hair loss. I hope you don't give up without trying to find a solution. Even if it's not supplements or vitamins. It can be as simple as changing your shampoo or conditioner. Even if you try massaging your scalp at night to increase the blood flow to your scalp... Or it may not be that simple. Just don't give up in trying to find a solution to your problem.
  10. LOL... How funny. Well you have a nice day too. That's all I have for ya!!!
  11. BRAVO! YOU HIT IT RIGHT ON THE HEAD! SUPPORT IS GOOD!
  12. WOW! Bless your heart. Whatever rocks your boat. I'm so through with you. When you want to have a discussion put something worth reading because you're trying to call me out...IS NOT WORKING. PEACE
  13. I understand and there's a good side and a bad side to everything. I do sympathize. I just don't want someone to read a thread title "Lap band-don't do it!! Scarred for life... I would've have had more respected for her if she would have put a thread saying "Learn the pros and cons of the Lap band before you have surgery...here's my story. Like I said in my first post I have a problem with the title. I did a treatment that you can get from Sally's called Aphogee it has a system. I did the two step treatment. You can even get it in a sample. If you're interested I will go to the website and write down everything I did. It gives you instant results because it has protein so you have to be careful and follow the instructions. But if you want I don't mind sharing the info. That's what this is all about.
  14. Ok! So you also need to go back and read my posting. At first I directed my post to LAPBANDFREE. I have not said that people can't voice there opinions about what they've experienced. But I'm going to post my opinion about what they've said just like you've posted your opinion about me. DON'T CALL ME DISRESPECTFUL. I beleive WASABUBBLEBUTT got that ball going and when you bark at me I'm going to bark back. So please don't go there. Peace:sleep:
  15. I'm sorry that you didn't have other doctors in your area. If your hair hasn't stopped shedding I hope you'll find a solution. I don't mean to come off like I don't sympathize with any of you. If some of you go back and read some of my post from the start...you'll find that I do feel sorry for those that have had problems. I just have a opinion about those that blame others especially in situations that they didn't take a more agressive approach in trying to solve their problems. And we can all learn from each others experiences. Peace
  16. WOW! Again when are you going to stop whining and take responsibilty for educating yourself. For your info I was told about the hair loss and a week after I did lose some hair. But guess what I did! I went and did a hair treatment and I've added some extra supplements to my diet. I didn't blame my doctor or anyone else. I didn't whine when it happen. I simply got off my butt and found a solution to stop my hair from shedding. EDUCATION IS A BEAUTIFUL THING! Do you have the option to change your doctor? Is it against the law in your state to seek a second, third, or fourth doctor's opinion. HECK! Are you that limited. You mean to tell me that there was no information on the web, in the library, or seminars where you could be fully informed about the Lap Band. May I ask you how did you find out about the Lap Band? And I think you meant to say is I have a lot to experience because going into this I made it a point to learn all I could about the pros and cons regarding The Lap Band. Peace
  17. Wow! Thanks for the tips. I will put this information to good use.
  18. I have only told one person on my job and that's because I had discussed it with her before. As far as everyone else is concern is non of their business. Plus...I'm thinking the same way Michee is thinking I've started eating less at lunch and I'm eating healthier. They haven't seen me digest a double cheeseburger and fries in a very long time. I'm also out for two weeks during the Christmas and New Year holidays. You have picked a very good time to go ahead and get your surgery. If it wasn't for the fact that I was banded in August I would've picked this time as well. Congrats.
  19. Oh Yeah! By the way... Have you asked your DOCTOR if there's any extra supplements that you can take to comeback the hair loss such as...BIOTIN, VITAMIN B-12, FLAXSEED, VITAMIN E, ZINC, A DIFFERENT MULTIVITAMIN, AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON AND ON.
  20. WOW! Are you all serious! Is this for real! I guess I have a personal crusade against you too... I can see why some of you are having problems. Where did I write anything about you? But like I told the other person if the shoe fits then you know what you can do with it... How does not agreeing with anyone becomes sarcastic? And if you read my other post you will see that not only have I stated my band date once but twice. PEOPLE PLEASE READ! I'm sorry that people don't ask their doctor's to discuss the pros and cons of any surgery. And I still say that everyone that has the Lap Band doesn't discuss just the good side they discuss the negatives as well but when they discuss the negative they also state what they've done wrong. If the problem is out of their hands beleive me they do pick up the PHONE or GO TO THE DOCTOR IN A AUTOMOBILE. If it can't be magically solved by a doctor then who do you go to? How did LAPBANDFREE finally get relief? Did she go to a doctor? PLEASE GIVE ME A BREAK! WAKEUP! FREE YOUR MIND AND THE REST WILL FOLLOW!
  21. Now how did my comment become a personal crusade against you. Why don't you PAY ATTENTION and see that in my post I'm referring to LAPBANDFREE...But if the shoe fits than you know what to do... I simply made a comment back to you after you made a comment on one of my post. I didn't single you out. But if you want to take it there then take it there...whatever rocks your boat. I STILL SAY I DON'T AGREE WITH THE POST THAT LAPBANDFREE MADE AND I WAS DIRECTING MY POST TO HER! OPEN YOUR EYES AND READ AND STOP GETTING SO DEFENSIVE. Your experience was different from hers I haven't made a comment about you...YET. I haven't made any nasty comments about you. I thought this was a post where you can post your opinion. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M DOING. WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU! PEACE
  22. Can I get an AMEN! Why is it categorize as deceit. Why are some of you saying that these people deceived you. I think some of you deceived yourselves. I didn't go into this thinking that this band was a magical tool that would make me stop eating and find food disgusting. WOW! It almost sounds like these evil happy people with their Lap Band conspired against you and made you get this evil object inserted into your body. The evil happy people also made you eat junk food, forget your doctor's number or address so that if you had any problems you couldn't seek help, and made you forget to take Vitamins or supplements for healthy body, hair, and skin. WOW! I too wish that I could live in a world where I can blame everybody but myself. Ok! So next your going to blame the evil happy people for making you fat so that you had to get the Lap Band.
  23. I guess you would know? I was banded 8/4/08. But I really don't see why that would make any difference. Since I did 3 years of research before I got the band. I had a very long and informative pre-op with the surgeon which gave me all the information that I needed and then some... including what diet to follow when I started regular foods. He even gave me a lot of information on the different types of bands. Guess what?... When I do something wrong to cause myself discomfort I either refer to the information that was given to me or I CALL THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE... WOW! Modern technology that TELEPHONE comes in handy. But trust me if I ever have the discomfort or misery that Lap said she experienced I will get into that invention call the AUTOMOBILE and get my butt to the doctor ASAP. I hope that clears it up for you. I still say no way would I sit by in misery or discomfort and not do anything. Peace.
  24. We live in a world where there is a plethora of knowledge at your finger tips how in the world can you not educate yourself when it comes to inserting a foreign object in your body. There are pros and cons to just about everything. And guess what there is a lot of resources available to educate yourself with both the pros and cons no matter what the subject maybe. I just can't grasp anyone not being able to obtain any information pro or con. Even today if you google lapband you are going to have information both pro and con at your disposal. LIKE I SAID, "IGNORANCE MUST BE BLISS." PLEASE STOP THE MADNESS AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR PART IN THE MISERY THAT YOU SAID YOU EXPERIENCED. I don't believe anyone had to blow smoke up someones butt to get them to get the Lapband. Were these people sales reps. for the Lap Band or were they people who simply had the Lap Band and were happy with the results that the Lap band gave them. Again I ask were these people claiming "THAT EVERY OBESE PERSON SHOULD GET THE LAP BAND" probably not I think the problem for me is the title of the thread "Lap band-don't do it!! Scarred for life. I believe that is my problem with this person. And also the fact that it seems she didn't do her best to make it work for her... I can see if she would've put forth a better effort in her Lap band experience. All I know is when it comes to your health you have to be very agressive in educating yourself.
