Nice! I also had my pre op and pre admissions appointment today. I spent 5 hours in the hospital haha but worth it.
It's day 7 on my pre op diet. Don't beat yourself up about weight loss. It'll happen post op and you'll be plenty pleased. Be proud of yourself for making it this far! Congrats and glad to be your Feb surgery buddy!

Well, had my pre-op visit with my surgeon and pre-admission testing done today. This is it! I told the dr. that I was feeling frustrated and like I'm not following the diet instructions because I've hardly lost any weight (6 lbs) in 1 week and he reassured me that the idea is for the liver to shrink, it's not for me to lose weight, so that made me feel a whole lot better. They also gave me the name of some vitamin patches (which I can't remember right now 🤔) that they want me to use for the first month so I'm ordering those today. I need to arrive at the hospital by 5:30am and confirmed I am his first case so I joked with the nurse when I told her, well that's good! He will have had a good night's sleep so he'll be fresh and ready to start with me haha!! 8 more days to go! 😀

My surgery date is February 24th, Gastric Bypass in Chicago. Finally after years 10 years of lurking, missed appts(self sabotage), and insurance changes, I made it. Just waiting to find out the date to start my liquid diet and then it really gets real. I’m getting excited but almost feel like I am trying not to be so excited because anything can happen. At this point I’m trying to tell myself it’s really about to happen and think positive. I guess with all the previous issues I’m more nervous about a cancellation or something else wacky going on and some how my surgery getting postpone. A special hello to all my surgery twins!!! We’re almost to the losers bench!

I went with bypass because I had acid reflux issues before surgery. My surgeon said he'd do either, but he recommended bypass given my reflux issues - so I went with that. No issues. And yes - I'd make the same decision if I had to make it again today. I've been very happy with my bypass (had it almost seven years ago)
