So today is the first day I woke up without a weight loss. I know this is super normal but emotionally I just feel like I’m doing something wrong. My clothes fit better- but nothing is too big for me in my closet yet. The second something is too big is going to be the best NSV ever.

I’m gonna let myself have a bit of a lazy morning- getting some laundry done then I’ll go walk at the gym and just keep moving forward.

    One day at a time.

So I’m glad your doing well, keep it up!!!

I am scheduled for 2/3. Today was difficult. Weekends are less busy and I am around all the food. Only a few more days before we join the losers bench! I am on Clear Liquids on Wednesday. I work Mon, Tues, and Wed so I should be plenty distracted and do fine.

I am very low energy today.

Excitement builds as we get closer.

Make sure you are walking even if it’s around the house. I found the more you lounge the less energy you have. Keep drinking the Water in between the shakes. But get up stretch and move. Post op they want you walking. I did so many laps every few hours a wore a hole in my hospital grip sock!!!

You got this!!!! (If I of all people can do it, you got this! LOL!!)

While I can’t speak for everyone, for me, the worst problem has been the weakness/fatigue.

    GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

How soon after your sleeve did you start taking solid tablets again (eg. paracetamol, ibuprofen or acetaminophen?) - I am in agony and have run out of the liquid stuff but don't want to ruin my sleeve by taking something I shouldn't. I'm 7 weeks out.

I’m out 5 days and have been able to take anti acid soft pill and I took oxy a day after getting out of hospital for the discomfort while trying to sleep.

Mine is the 7th also I’m in Ohio and I have a 2 week liquid diet that I am struggling with.

If you can find Fairlife chocolate Protein Shakes or salted caramel. The chocolate tastes like Yoo-hoo and the salted caramel tastes like melted vanilla ice cream with a hint of caramel. 150 cal and 30 gr Protein in 11.5 oz bottle. By far the best tasting shakes on the market. Get

  6. I’m on day 5 post op. Everything seems to be going pretty well. My Dr has moved me to phase 2 eating, creamy Soups, yogurts ith fruit flavor no pieces of fruit. Also soft boiled egg To go along with my Protein Shakes. I started my bariatric Vitamins B12 dissolveable tablet, calcium citrate 1000mg chewable(not so great) and a multi that looks like a starburst candy!!!! So far I have been walking abouT 1.5-2 miles each morning( not today 12in snow) I find it easier to drink while on my walk rather than sitting down. I have to say that I am not hungry at all. I know I have to eat which I am doing getting in 60-80g Protein and 64 oz liquids. It’s just weird that I’m not looking to graze in the fridge!!!! Also I am keeping a food journal, times and how much and protein taken in and am also using Baritastic app to track weight and goals and food as well. Might be a little over kill the journal but for now I seem to like it. Just wanted to share my first week with everyone because I’m proud of the work I’m doing!!!!

Howdy, all, I had the gastric sleeve surgery on 1/13/22 so I am 9 days post-op. For the past two days, I have been unbelievably exhausted, fatigued, and achy. I feel like it is getting worse. Today I have been crying almost non-stop. Not because of pain just emotional fatigue I guess. (Kept crying while watching the movie "Air Force One". It is not a sad movie. I am hardly taking in fluids, doing about 8 ounces every hour. Alternating between Water and Premier Protein Clear. Still, no food but can sip broth. I was walking but no longer as it is too tiring and I feel like I will fall. I have not called the Doctor as it is the weekend and the on-call will I'm sure would basically tell me if I am concerned then I should go to the ER. I am thinking maybe I should at least they will probably give me an IV for fluids for dehydration if that's the case. A year ago I had a very bad case of COVID-19, thankfully recovered (still can't smell anything) and since then I have had both VAX shots and the booster. I mention that because the exhaustion is reminiscent of that. Any suggestions? Please help. Thank you!

Hang in there Kurt, you settled me down when I was freaking out about the surgery!!! So go back to the Dr and explain everything you have explained on here and I’m confident that they will get you back up and running on the post op diet!! Just remember we are all here for you and each other on this forum..

My surgeon uses a robot to perform the surgery. It is totally manipulated by the surgeon but is supposed to be more precise and recovery is faster.

I just had my sleeve surgery on This past Monday. It was done robotically, He says most precise. I have luckily not much pain since leaving hospital yesterday. Key is get off the chair or bed and walk.

My preop diet is 1 week of full liquids. There are also some things I was told to cut 2 weeks out (NSAIDS, caffeine, alcohol. . . ) This varies for my doc based on BMI. I start my liquid diet tomorrow.

I work outside sales. I drive around all day. My Surgery is on a Thursday, I go back to work the following Wednesday. My doc said some go back to work after 4 days. I am getting the sleeve done.

Funny, my dr didn’t say anything about no caffeine. In recovery after the surgery I was able to sip some Hot Tea with splenda.

I don't have a preop diet, which I find interesting now that I'm reading all the posts. I had a final "appointment" (via phone) with the surgeon yesterday and he's just requiring a liquid fast the day before.

How is everyone planning for time off from work? I guess it depends on the physicality of ones job.

Had my surgery on Monday 1/25 and I had a 2 week pre op diet of 2-3 shakes and a Protein and vegetables for lunch. sugar free Jello for desert if needed and 64 oz Water. And Clear Liquids day before. I think the pre op diet is a great way to start getting yourself into the mindset of you aren’t going to be eating a lot… I lost 16 pounds on the pre op. As for time off the dr is giving me 6 weeks because of the physical job of being a lineman. It’s only the beginning of day 3 and so far so good!!! Good luck with your surgery.

  11. I am going in this morning for the sleeve. I was good up till this past Monday and Wed where I always in complete freak out Mode. I talked to a couple of people who have had the surgery and that put my mind at ease. I have been good and confident the rest of the week. Remember you are choosing this surgery to take control back. To get Healthier for a long life ahead of you. Try to wrap your head around that and you will be in better head space. You just have to get through the pre diet which I breezed through losing 15lbs and the first few weeks. My people say it gets much better and it’s a decision you will not regret especially after you see your numbers go down. Good luck to you

So I am a little freaked out about my insurance. Surgery is scheduled for 2/3, and I am super excited now that I am on the liquid diet. (I think it seems real now.). But, I learned today that unless and agreement is reached between the hospital and Anthem in the next week or so, the hospital will not be in-network on February 1!

Anthem approved mine just this past Thursday and I’m going in tomorrow.

Same here. Start pre-op diet (protein shakes + cup of fruit + cup of veg + liquids) on Thursday. So manumy appointments between now and then (meet with Surgeon, labs, meet with hospital staff, COVID test).

Anyone have a realistic hospital bag packing list for 1 night? Imagine I will be sleeping and don't want to take anything unnecessary. This is my first hospital stay.

I’m not bringing much, A pair of comfortable sweats or pajama pants to walk the hall ways. My phone and my iPad just in case I want to watch a movie. Other than that they supply all the toiletries.

Everything is going okay. I miss chewing though🥺 getting in my Water is a struggle. I can only drink warm lemon Water. I’m up to 5 cups. I hate all my Protein Shakes now. I found I can take Fairlife 1% plus GENEPRO unflavored Protein Powder with only a little issue. I’m happy overall though. How are you doing?

Monday is the big day. I’ve been up and down all week.

I was told to do Pre-Op Clear diet for one day? Is this normal

Im still waiting on my surgery date.

I was told that as well but then 2 weeks before my surgery they said I should start with shakes, small meal is chicken and vegetables lunch, small fruit and shake for dinner. I’m assuming to get used to the amount of calories you will be trying to take in post op. I am on all clear liquids on Sunday for surgery on Monday.
